  • merci c'est très bien

  • Good idea but poor image and sound quality ....

  • @mardarg3 it's only lowfi :-)

  • Great Video but there is an error, until 1993 we can Speak of Dire Straits , after is only Mark without the band!!!!!!

These is the 30 years of The God of the GUITAR!!!!

  • Great job man, I think this is the mgnum opus of one of the greatest of all times. Congratulations,

  • @Farellanes thank you man!!

  • OMG noooo dislikes :P

  • @zuckermanbmusic13 thanks, not anymore, doh (though)!

  • super zmontowane, szkoda że dIRE sTRAITS już nie ma

  • whats better than sultans of swing , its seven of them :)

  • ALCHEMY best imo, but all solos different, improvisational, soul tearing in their intensity. Now he sits to play, perched on the edge of a speaker. Still the ultimate in cool and still standing musically. Tnx for putting this out there.

  • 30yrs of haircuts...

  • Great editing. Enjoyed this immensely, thank you.

  • @fIRsTRATmAN cheers!

  • very nice work!!! good

    tks

  • @frankrone1 thanks!

  • alchemy is good but wembley 85 is unbeatable no other version got more soul everything just fitting in perfectly

  • @Roguedoitfrombehind Nope. Still Alchemy, sorry. :)

  • missing the ebst version of all wembley 1985 brothers in arms tour

  • Every single one of them is unbelievable but my fav out of the lot would be the old grey wistle test 1978 sultans, just raw sounding and powerful.

  • Man this is very creative. Well done, enjoyed it alot. MK is a genius and a guitar God.

(only one critic please remove that link 1:17)

  • great work!

  • Good job!!!

  • Good job but you have forgotten Mandela concert from 1988.

And maybe the SOS from Arena 1979 TV program too.

  • @joandrums i know about the Mandela :-)

  • @straitjacket24 Anyway the transition between songs is very good !

  • Couldn't agree more with the comments about Alchemy - by far the BEST EVER version of this classic all time great, bloody brilliant, incredible, aweinspiring, moving, beautiful song.

Well done mate for the editing on this.. very very interesting video. Thank you!

  • @joeslifeyork hi, thanks for the comment! :-)

  • @joeslifeyork hi, thanks for the comment! :-)

  • Very interesting work, man!good work with the changes between each piece.I can see more clearly why I like the alchemy version overall. Thanks for this.

  • @Vitimk12 i agree, alchemy is both soul and technique, what a great show

  • Very Great!

  • Great!

  • truely inspired! My favorite songs / versions is whatever is playing at the moment but I like the 1980 with Pick Withers or later with Terry Williams & really enjoy Jack Sonni, but the later performances have a depth of maturity & like the Pensa sound best. Excellent job on the vid!!! ***** Telegraph Road in Hollywood 2010 was amazing. This is wondeful; thnx for sharing!!

  • @becksdollface i went to see him in montreux last week, I must say I wasn't expecting much (not really into his solo stuff) but he definitely prooved me wrong, telegraph was played beautifully, a few uncertainties in sultans but like you said when he picks up the Pensa he is number one, thanks for commenting, I will soon be working on a funnier one of them :-)

  • how did he switch guitars so many times?

  • @TheTreestan i think deep inside he's a very insecure man ;-)

  • Very good ideia ;) well done, thanks for that ;)

  • @SBernardoRockers thanks! :-)

  • One time, I tried to do a video with this period:

    Money for Nothing 1985 - 2005.

But youtube detected "Money For Nothing" song and not published the video by this reason :(

Tunnel Of Love is a very nice song too.

    Sorry my bad english.*

  • I would like to see a version of this video with money for nothing.

  • @guitardo2 do you think? I was actualy considering tunnel of love though it wasn't played much lately...

  • Realy interesting video. All versions are singular, with a kind of beauty.

    Love it!

  • @jsebsteelguitar thanks!! :-)

  • my favourite is Demo Tape version pre 1979, fast and very original.

more complete is alchemy version 1985

miss Australian version live concert 1996 with Schecter guitar

more clean sound is A night in London 1996 and concerts 1992 with Pensa guitar.

very good job, i like it !

  • @Trinita75 I thought to cover 1985 with a big event, to stress the concept from the pub to a world event. On a second thought the australian concert could have worked better maybe, as well as using the1988 nelson mandela concert to cover the gap between 1985 and 1992.

    thanks anyway, cheers

  • Ive been a fan of MK since 1985 ...Im going to see him on Friday for the first time.

I'll be wearing my dire straits fan club badge :)

  • @KJS72 hi, I have been a DS/MK fan since 1988, so basically almost at the end of their career. I was lucky enough to see many dates of the On Every Street tour and Mark Knopfler a couple of times in london in the 90's. I have then moved to different music but still touched by their songs and Youtube has contributed to refresh my passion for DS. I will probably go and see him in Montreux in July.
