Man, I grew up on East Coast Hip Hop/ Underground all my life and still continue to be until I DIE. But as South Rappers are Wack period, East Coast also got some wack ass rappers also in last over 10-11 years like Jay Z (except 90s albums were DOPE), then Fabulous, 50 Cent, Jim Jones (as far worst NY rappers), Jadakiss, Ja Rule.

Some east coast folks are just cry babies that feel that hip hop should be done one or two ways so that everyone can pay attention to them. Most of these dudes will diss commercial ass southern rappers and then say listen to my underground east coast dude. But they won't know ANYTHING about Southern underground scene. The industry in general is wack. So there are wack rappers from everywhere. The South is probably the most musically diverse region when it comes to rap. Most don't research.

Im not sayin all of the south made hip hop brain dead but the majority did and it's because of the youth new to da game and their fanbase or artist like Wayne who nevered appeal too me but went commeracialized and imma east coast fella but right now the west is keepin it going as far as hot tracks with nice lyricism and the south is only pushin the hot beats as for east coast we only got Hov and Nas holdin it down at this momment

Yeah but most of ya southern artist influenced other rappers from different coast to do wack ass tracks like fuckin Chicken Noodle soup and I think that was by a east coast artist you got da fucking Dougie song by Cali park Swag or whatever from the west the fuckin south has ogs like Scar Andre 3000 Big Boi Mystikal ect ect but rappers like Wayne Paul Wall I mean I dont even like Luda or Lil John

But the south in my opinion somewhat digged a hole for themselves and the majority killed rap

every coast has fallen or in other words isn't bringing anything new to the table! East coast used to have that grimey, underground, sound to it! & what happened to east coast mcs working with premo? its like they all forgot he existed (except for a few) sadly the east coast has jumped on the bandwagon! same with west coast, nobody raps over jazz beats or g-funk beats no more! everybody is trying to sound like mainstream southern rap! & all the real southern cats ain't getting no airplay as well

i always said this but don't forget the South is also home to Outkast who is a great ...one o the best rappers ever and they are from the south. yes ALOT of southern rappers do suck, but not majority....there are just bad rappers all over the place....and YES the media and dumb consumers are the cause of all this epic decline in quality of music :'-(.

Each region has their good rappers and each region has their bad rappers. That's what makes rap so different from other music genre: everyone can add their own "background" favor to the table and still be considered a good rapper. If only one region were to blame for bringing down a whole music genre then they be the only ones with really low record sales?
