@TheWhiskeyRover: Indeed, Slim had a -big- voice, and, (unlike most great singers), he kept his full power and great range, up though & including the last year of his almost 89 years. But I'm not sure what you mean by "not using a mic". There's no "back row" to project to, no loud band to overcome; all Slim had to do was get his voice on the recording. Obviously, that required a mic :-)
This is really special. Ya dont here his stuff often and you certainly dont see footage of him much at all. Im in aww. Just brilliant. Thanks for posting. =D
there is three dvd 's full of this kind of beautifull stuff ,, get em , down load em , nick em , but just fucking get em , they are awesome as fuckery !!!!!!
Man, my friends and I saw Sunnyland Slim in a bar in Chicago in the 80s. I didn't know what to expect, it was wonderful even at his ripe age! Loved his Woody Woodpecker laugh!

Great stuff, most likely it would be Willie Dixon playing the bass here...?

This is from the "American Folk Blues Festival" 1965, and, as far as I know, the clip was produced in Germany.
