I think I need to make another clarification. Sure Israel became a nation again in 1948. They have made their own laws however, and are not legitimate ( I will elaborate if necessary). Since I have space I'll also add that clearly Gen 49:24 states that the Christ will come from the tribe of Joseph. We know Jesus came from Judah, so the natural conclusion is in his second incarnation he will come from Joseph.

First of all, ancient Israel was composed of 12 tribes (+levites) not just the Jews (tribe of Judah). Why is it important for these people to know who they are?
