Excuse me? I have to actually be gay to sympathize with the homosexual struggle? So the fact that I have several friends who are gay, a gay uncle, and two bisexual sisters means NOTHING? Don't tell me I cannot fully sympathize for this, or feel a certain way. I am not making shit up. When my friend came out a few years ago,I was the ONLY ONE who stuck by him when everyone else was freaking out. I'm a loser for trying to make people really think. Right.
those who "overcome being gay" were simply experimenting sexually, and probably weren't actually homosexual, just curious. those who truly have strong feelings rarely "overcome" it. you only "overcome" confusion.
Okay and to clarify a few things, as far as the bible. Homosexuality is listed a 'sin' but it's no more a sin than the sins we all commit on a daily basis. So to all who speak in the name of christianity or catholicism, cut it out. I don't support gay rights because it's against my beliefs but I do believe gays should have the same rights as all. (does that make any sense to anyone?)
well, sorta..... actually, no. hm. why did i write that? i think it was "gays should have the same rights as all". for me, the marriage thing is all about RIGHTS. regardless of sexuality, because those in question are human beings they are entitled to the RIGHT to marriage. I don't think it's wrong, either, and I'm Christian. but please, I don't know enough about my spirituality to discuss my beliefs, so if you argue, argue my politics.
i think they should keep religon out of, law making desisions...because, the constitution says we have the right to pick our religous beliefs...so why are they taking marriage from gay people?...cause of religon, see the confusion?
Really? Would you say the same thing about a person who has ever uttered the words, "G*d damn?" or anyone who has told a white lie to make a friend feel better?
Everything in life we do is a choice. Whom you sleep with ultimately defines your sexuality. So technically you can. Now your compulsion and feelings for the same sex may not be an urge you can explain, but there are many possible underlining instances in ones life that "bring about" your sexual orientation. Picture it as an invisible mold that is shaped by what you see, hear, and feel about the real world. It's up to you to believe if it's wrong or right, but whether or not it's a choice, yes.
Hm, interesting way to think about it... But it's usually a strong feeling--- There is no fighting it, and there is no choosing what sex you are attracted to. Yes, you may lie to yourself and others, but really--- if you're homosexual, you're homosexual. It's like being white, black, or red.
There shouldn't be anything wrong with loving someone. Plus, 'straight' people should stop judging those who are attracted to the same sex. You will never understand.
I wouldn't compare it to race, because that's something you're born with and sexuality in General (straight, bi, gay) isn't something you're born with in my opinion. Not enough evidence supports it. I don't think anyone should judge. It's wrong. And I can understand that it's a feeling you can't fight, my only point is, don't believe the hype when they say it's something you're born with because tests have been inconclusive.

Yeah I meant to say, "gay marriage." but I believe gays should have all the same rights. It's only human.

You can't 'not' choose to be gay.
hermitcrabcare 4 years ago
ok, no you can't, but you can overcome it.
Hooliganza 4 years ago
What is 'overcoming' being homosexual? What does that mean?
Have you ever overcome being gay?
hermitcrabcare 4 years ago
No I haven't. But homosexuality will take you to hell in the end.
Hooliganza 4 years ago
lol Alright then... And did God tell you this?

People have done it and successfully. There are literally thousands who try because they believe it's wrong.

No, you are right. People are not born with it. It happens when your hormones kick in. So, it really is a natural thing. There is no fighting it...
