@Americant47 Thanks. That was a very worthwhile presentation. A perfect example of how we can further our understanding through observation and experimentation. Bruce Lipton quite obviously leaves the likes of Kent Hovind far behind. Poor old Kent is stuck like a record jumping with his mantra "Bible says.... Bible says......". Bruce Lipton is enthusiastically exploring life and the universe, unhindered by an archaic system of belief.
@Americant47 Don't worry, I didn't take it personally. I think it all depends on how one defines purpose. I act in a purposeful way in my explorations, and in attempting to relieve the suffering of others where possible. I do not however feel that this is the same as a "one size fits all" purpose laid down by another person, or a political or religious doctrine. There are philosophical aspects of religious teaching, as well as non-religious philosophy which I consider helpful but not divine.
@Americant47 I'm not fighting for anything, and I don't feel any nihilistic tendencies to end my life. I'm quite happy with simply exploring everything. I do not feel the need to invent a "purpose" for my existence any more than I need to invent a creator.
@Americant47 Seems as if you're looking for a reason to believe. Personally I'm just curious; why doesn't really come into it. Maybe there is no "reason" for life.

@mockerofscoffers -- Hey Bible Thumper, you're not being very Christian, are you? You are supposed to be meek and mild and let me kick the living shit out of you. Because, after all, you're gonna go to heaven for being a dimwitted pious sheeple, aren't you.
I love that. Basically, you Christians believe being an idiot entitles you to eternal bliss in the "ever after". Hmmmm...you know, the equally idiotic brainwashed Muslims think the same thing. Interesting...
@obdami your not that bright are you...poor soul. Otherwise you would 1. notice i used sport as a method of walloping your hide, ie kick boxing or K1 as to not induce sin and 2. Your lack of knowledge in differentiating between Christianity and islam.( but to be expected).
Alas, you have the classic symptoms one would expect of a Godless primate. So if you want to sling mud back and forth, at least educate yourself beforehand as you are some what out of your league.
@mockerofscoffers -- WTF? I see you can type so there has to be some intelligence in that matter between your ears. I don't get you. I really don't. Are you saying you want to kick ass for Jesus? Is that your point? If so, how does that differentiate you from Islamic terrorists? As I recall, Jesus said "Let them kicketh your asseth so that you can sucketh the dicketh of the Father when your are worm feed."
"Out of my league". You fucking nothing dipshit, you haven't a fucketh idea.
@mockerofscoffers -- Does your anger stem from your "Little Wiener" syndrome? Hey, God loves everyone, even dipshits with little wieners.
Sing with me..... "Priests love the little wieners, all the wieners in the world, whether tiny or girth they lack, they are stiff in their sight, Priests love the little wieners in the world".
Btw, you wouldn't happen to be.......a priest? Would You? It would explain a lot....
Hey I love that little jingle....maybe turn it into a full song.
No i'm not a priest because i don't believe in catholicism but as a Christian i have to love thy neighbor and that includes you with your little wiener and all.
@mockerofscoffers -- "Truth"? You have a handle on that one, do you? As far as I can tell you are so far removed from it that.........shit, insert your own analogy.
@mockerofscoffers -- Explain what? That you have a little wiener? Isn't that self explanatory? If not, stretch your panties outward and have a look? Got it?
@mockerofscoffers - Ok, well in the spirit of Memorial Day and you having lost your wiener and all, may I suggest that you have a vagina installed and then stick lightbulbs up it and smash your poon with a hammer. You know you want to...
what is important is that God made the universe period. But, if genesis is not taken as it is, than how does one know what to believe and not to believe from the Bible?
If the Bible has even one thing wrong, then it is an invalid book. But God's word is never wrong for it is holy. So, do we believe the Bible as a whole or not? One cannot choose which parts to believe and which parts not to believe.
@tdforjesus you are right, but how people will believe in everything of the bible, if they want believe in anything else, the good pretext is to twist the mesage in any way to justify dreams or wrongs ideas. Example, the bible is very clear when it says that the world was made in six days(evening came... and then morning.), and not in one six "days".(???)
@tdforjesus Why is it important that "God made the universe, period"? Is it not more important for the human race to explore and understand as much as possible about ourselves and the universe of which we are a part? Simply accepting religious texts as true and factual rather negates that process by putting the conclusion before the investigation; a bit like putting the cart before the horse.
I love the ties, Kent has dinosaurs and Hugh has stars, was this shot just after Christmas or father’s day? Cos you always get a funky ties as a gift from kids, and you know you need to wear them.
I don't care what any fruity tard thinks about Hovind. The fact is that he kicks ass, and wins the debates with ease every time. I have not seen the first debate where he even comes close to a loss. Just a studd in terms of debate, and knowing his stuff. Logic comes to mind.
I disagree. Hovind was horrible here. He repeats arguments that were already answered, he ignores Hebrew scholarship, when an argument of his is refuted he quickly changes the subject, and he always digressed from the topic.
@EvolutionLIE No it doesn't. Ross already addressed that. 1) Exodus wasn't written in english, and 2) the preposition that the KJV uses to give the appearance of a direct analogy is not found the [original] text. Ross is correct.
Ross is also supported by the most revered rabbinical commentator on the Torah (e.g. Maimonides) who strongly criticized the literalist view.
@gmn545 ..ross is spiritually dead ! Only a true man of God can see that. Not unliike academics such as 'dawkins' who countenance is a dead pan grey. This reveals the Holy Spirit is Not with him, not that i expect you to understand spiritual matters
You either 'Believe' God's Way Unquestionably Or Not, there's No Inbetween.
Man's vain 'logic and reason' will Die wit them
it's so easy to baffle people with b.s, that's the nature of man, that's why so many fall for Lies such as evoltuion
@EvolutionLIE "Spiritually dead" Ad hominem. Ross is clearly correct in the two points I cited and instead of refute that, you just attack him (claiming "the Holy Spirit is not with him" with NO stable framework to back up how you arrived at such a conclusion), and then the condescending "not that I expect"...some "christian" you are.
Since the underlying assumption for BOTH Hovind and Ross is God is omnipotent, who says things couldn't occur in the way Ross is describing it?
@EvolutionLIE And evolution is a valid scientific theory which best explains biodiversity. It (along with science altogether) rests on methodological naturalism (note: NOT metaphysical), i.e. it cannot comment on the 'supernatural'; it remains neutral on the question of God. Millions of theists (including reputable scientists) have no problem in accepting it, and they do so based on the overwhelming evidence for it.
Evidence: atavistic traits, endogenous retroviruses, observed speciation, etc.
@gmn545 ..sorry fella, you're one of the gullible that trusts the vain philosophies of man. You say hughes is right, why ??? because you agree with him ! LOL,
spare me the 'retrovirus' example. the best an 'evolutionist philosopher' can do is give examples of unicellular organisms, NEVER, complex multicellular orgainisms such as mammals etc....Nor can you provide any Evidence to prove 'Abigenesis'.
only the naive and gullible fall for the Scam that is 'evolution philosophy'
@EvolutionLIE I say Ross is correct on the issue of the text not giving a direct analogy, as the preposition is NOT there in the original hebrew. I agree with that because I've read the text myself (anyone can...biblos. com).
"Spare me" Argument from incredulity. I love how you can't site any scientific facts which would discredit retroviruses as evidence. You also completely ignored [observed] speciation.
Abiogenesis =/= evolution. How life began is a separate issue to how it diversifies.
@EvolutionLIE Yes they are separated because a theory only explains a SET of empirical observations; there isn't a theory of everything. Diversification and origins are not the same thing, duh. Are you gonna claim that because the theory of gravity doesn't explain where germs came from, it's invalid?
And 'lol'ing after every sentence doesn't make your argument any less fallacious. Until you cite actual scientific evidence to falsify it, evolution stands.
@gmn545 ...the Point is, is that IF Those "Theories" were CORRECT, there Would be NO Problem with The Chronology of Events ACTUALLY Occuring.
But Of Course, We All Know Science hasn't got the "Courage" to Have the Chronology of Events Analysed because their "Theories" would Crash and Burn VERY Quickly.
If Science has So Much Confidence in the "Big Bang" well Then EXPLAIN the Transition from INAnimate to ANIMATE, NON-Living Matter to LIVING Matter. !
@EvolutionLIE How does science not have the courage when their [published] journals are online to be read?
Scientists themselves admit to not having all the answers [yet], but unknowns drive scientific investigation. If step 1 is unknown, that does NOT discount everything we know from steps 2 and onward (this is the case with the big-bang and evolution).
Again, you're ignoring the evidence without citing any scientific facts to invalidate them. Only by doing so will you discredit the theory.
@gmn545 ...LOL...so Now you're Telling Me that there's Academic Papers that Discuss the Transition from 'Big Bang - Non Living Matter to Living matter" AND "Abiogenesis and Evolution ???>
LOL...Yet you Denied it Earlier stating "Abiogensis=/=Evolution"
You play the "Duck and Weave" Game my friend.
If Science Theories Re: Big Bang, Abiogenesis, Evolution had Credibility they Would ALSO Investigate the TRANSITIONS From One to Another.
@EvolutionLIE For you to NOT get why theories are separated (due to each only explaining a particular SET of empirical observations) displays your absurd thought process.
A better "chronology" would be: cosmology (physics, including stellar nucleosynthesis), biochemistry (abiogenesis), and biology (evolution). Hubble's Law, General relativity, cosmic microwave background radiation, etc. all support the big-bang. Dr. Jack Szostak's (2009 Nobel Laureate) lab work confirms MUCH of abiogenesis...
@EvolutionLIE To see Dr. Szostak's work displayed in powerpoint / video form...
watch?v=U6QYDdgP9eg
I never denied that academic papers don't discuss such matters. I was clarifying the importance of SEPARATING scientific theories, as the only explain a SET of empirical observations. For the last time, how life began (abiogenesis)=/=how life diversifies (evolution).
You STILL can't cite any evidence to falsify any of the theories. Appealing to incredulity and "lol"ing won't cut it, "friend".
@EvolutionLIE That is not the "true" reason; you simply ignore the way things are done in science. Spouting off platitudes won't help you.
As for "house of cards", incorrect. Darwin himself, in Origins of Species (last chapter) stated that it's [possible] that the first single-celled organisms could have been "breathed into by a creator", and diversification (evolution) simply occured thereafter. He, like everyone else who UNDERSTANDS how scientific theories work, knew they're separate issues.
@EvolutionLIE "Dream On" ...I've asked repeatedly for you to cite actual scientific evidence that would discredit the theories in question, and all you post are appeals to incredulity. It seems that's all you have. Pathetic.
@EvolutionLIE "God doesn't accept 'compromises' of his truth" Again, your entire position rests on a logical fallacy: No True Scotsman (look that up).
"evolution is a pagan based philosophies which Darwin ripped off someone else" Genetic Fallacy. The idea of atoms and 'life coming from water' came from pagans too. Doesn't invalidate them.
You want to comfort yourself by simply disregarding the evidence and settling for incredulity. Again, spouting off platitudes won't help you. You STILL fail.
@gmn545 ...you ask "who says things couldn't occure in the way Ross is describing it ?"
real simple...Scripture is Holy Spirit inspired by chosen men of God...thus I believe Scripture above and beyond a man, such as Ross, who DENIES the Literal Interpretation of Genesis AND Like to Squeeze In the Vain Philosophies of man, ie. 'evolution philosophy' to appease his 'academics' and justtify his position in academia.
any man who Denies God Word is No Man of God, but Prefers the praises of men
@EvolutionLIE Ross isn't denying the validity of scripture; he's stating that the early chapters of Genesis delve deeper than the face-value [english] text. The most revered rabbinical commentators (e.g. Maimonides, Saadia Gaon, et al) including the top christian philosophers (e.g. Thomas Aquinas, William Lane Craig) all take Ross' side.
To say "if you're not literalist, you're not a man of God" is simply an appeal to the No True Scotsman fallacy.
According to Hugh Ross's logic, if each day mentioned is a veery long period, then the 7th day, means we just rest for a veeery long time and don't work and nothing.. Now, I think that's idiotic, but hey, I like that idea ^^
@Giladdzz Actually we are all in God's 7th day in rest which hasn't ended. Therefore is the reason God hasn't created again. We conclude that the 7th day ends when God creates again the new heaven and earth mentioned in the book of revelations.
I somehow understand what you say, I believe in Jesus and the bible, but I don't agree with Hugh Ross, I believe the earth was created in 7 24 hour days cuz I really don't know why you need to make all these theories instead of just believing what it says.. and about the allegory you sayd, I believe that the 7th day period as you say, is the 1000 years that Jesus will return to this earth and rule here, also mentioned in Revealation. 6 days = 6000 years and then the 7th day of rest
@Giladdzz thats because as kent said they used their ''knowledge'',their own human inteligence to try to make the bible fit on our intelect as men, but GOD is not a man HE doesnt have our limitations(laws)or thinks the way we do,all we need is to have faith that our GOD is able to achieve anything anytime even if that is out of our understanding or the reach of todays science,AMEN!
The naivete whith which Hovind approaches the already childish subject matter of theology is simply breathtaking. Believing the stories is one thing, but just refusing to accept that you might have to do some additional reading to understand the text in its original language is steep, even for Hovind.
Kent Hovind you are absolutely wrong. How do you measure your standard of literacy? What if you are illiterate compared to other people? You are assuming that god has some sort of education standard that you automatically have that allows you to understand the book your god wrote. What if you do you have the privilege to become so literate? Does that mean that I know need to seek out a 'guru' to tell me all this? That makes it a cult. You fail.
...since woman and fire are spelled the same, the only difference is a simple "dot" at the end of the word in Hebrew, which was added during the adoption of the modern Hebrew language. This makes sense, because Zecharyah 5 is talking about a nuclear warhead...not a "woman" in a flying basket. These guys need to do some more homework!
Both of them are basing a lot of their findings on the premise that neither of them can "read or speak" Hebrew. This is plain stupid! Knowing a language is but a small part of understanding. There is in fact ancient paleo Hebrew, modern Hebrew, spoken Hebrew, and Yiddish. Guess which one the Torah was written in? Ancient Hebrew! Modern translations fall short of accuracy. Zecharyah (Zechariah) 5 tells of a woman in a basket with a lead lid. In Hebrew, woman and fire are the same spelling.
Hugh says he has had plenty of commentary with Hebrew scholars. Which "kind?" There are karaites, Orthodox (Pharisees), and others. They all have their different interpretations, with the Karaites being the most reputable by not following Takanot and Ma'asim (man made law and prior rabbinical judgments).
Of course, even Alex Jones pay taxes. Even Jesus Christ himself. Not paying taxes is wrong for the only reason that almost all governments can put you into prison for not paying taxes. Now, Jesus Christ doesn't want us to be put to prison for that reason alone. But he said, give to Caesar what is his, but give to God what is his. So that we can continue to tell the truth and we should pay taxes.
Watching ten minutes of these bat-shit crazy idiots debating over what nonsensical interpretation of a 2000 year old fairytale is correct, is like slamming your scrotum in a door jam over and over again....
@obdami I said an intelligent man debating a goat. A GOAT!!! I can't take that picture out of my mind 'cause that voice is the voice of a goat!! He just needs a goatee.
Anyone who does not have the Holy Spirit should really not be trying to explain what the bible means because they get caught up in their own false interpretations. A lot of the things in the bible we can just understand and thus teach but when it comes to huge topics such as creation follow what the bible says and if you interpret the days on how long they are from your own idea and not from the Holy Spirit you really should just shut your mouth
"if you interpret the days on how long they are from your own idea and not from the Holy Spirit you really should just shut your mouth"
Ross is staying faithful to the text. It's the ignorant 21st century Christian who assumes that "day" means what we take it to be in english. Christians are called to love their God with all their MIND as well, and you simply expose yourself as a deluded idiot by backing Hovind's fraudulent nonsense. Did Satan cause his tax evasion? Bullshit.
And the evening and the morning were the first day, and the evening and the morning were the second day, and the evening and the morning were the third day... it's so blatantly obvious that it's talking about periods of millions of years.
I don't either, cuz the Earth is a few billions of years. Kent Hovind, if you saw his arguments, are totally irrelevant or is picking and choosing science here.
hebrew is very hard to translate to the vernacular then its even harder to translate to Latin then to english, german etc and all by hand....dont you think there might have been some mistakes for this very reason i dont take the Bible literally
@TheMossad921 Further study into the original Hebrew or Greek of the bible almost always expands on the meaning of scripture, or clarifies our understanding of it. i havent come across any place where the two translations clash on a subject, or contradict each other. Just my observeation.
@adrasvaiyen good point i just think its good to be cautious with this area religion gets twisted too easily by how people interprept or misinterprept words it just seem foolish. I would like people to solely take the core message out of the Bible and read the rest with a grain of salt.
.erev and boker , the evening and the morning were the first day . erev = darkness = disorder, boker = light = order . It was finished being brought from disorder to order at the end of day 6 , that is why there is no erev and boker on the first sabbath
Wow Hovind is so arrogant, and demeaning to "uneduacated" like they can't think for themself unless they have higher educaton. And what is this "the God I serve"? He says that way too uch like he is the only person who knows God
I feel bad for hovind, his so frustrated that is getting mad at Dr. Ross. Hovinds never give any answers, he uses insults against Dr. Ross. Has you can see Dr. Ross always calm and answering all the questions. Remember God is the creator of everything including the scient, and thanks God for Dr. Ross who's using scient to support and comfirm that God created everything.
@Apologist117 "Hovind is in agreement with all the Church Fathers."
No he's not. "We found fault with those who, taking the words in their apparent signification, said that the time of six days was occupied in the creation of the world..."--Origen (Against Celsus 6:60; AD 248)
@Apologist117 " 'This is the book of the generation: also of the things in them, when they were created in the day that God made heaven and earth.' For the expression "when they were created" intimates an indefinite and dateless production." -- Clement of Alexandria (Miscellanies 6.16; 208 AD)
@Apologist117 "For in these days the morning and evening are counted, until, on the sixth day, all things which God then made were finished, and on the seventh the rest of God was mysteriously and sublimely signalized. What kind of days these were it is extremely difficult, or perhaps impossible for us to conceive, and how much more to say!"--St. Augustine (City of God 11:6; AD 419)
@Apologist117 Interestingly enough, Hovind went on to say during the debate, "I don't care what any Church Fathers said." So your argument is moot. Also, the Big-Bang is not a lie. It was a *Christian* (George Lemaitre) who first postulated it. It was scientific discovery that backed it up, e.g. Hubble's Law and General Relativity (along with several predictions). The only fraud in this debate is Hovind.
@tomopotamus Hovind doesn't want to deal with the hebrew because that would be to admit that the english might be a flawed translation and he would NEVER admit that in 14 billion years.
Kent is debating with a man that is clearly way out of his league. It is embarrassing to watch Hovind making a fool of himself. His foolishness got him sent to prison. Not a wise man, IMHO.
@H0lyPh3n0m ...we watching the same videos? Kent is attacking Ross, sure. Ross is using evidence, and Kent's reply is "nope I don't believe you so it's not true." If you don't want to accept a fact, that doesn't make it not true
This Kent guy is just embarassing but on top of that he CLEARLY keeps slinging thinly veiled insults at the other guest. His whole demeanor is simpley offensive. It's like Hugh, a genius, is talking to the village idiot. Kent is clearly the epitome of "BLIND" faith....he just dogmatically believes what he believes and has no idea WHY he believes it, he just does, and anyone who disagrees is challenging those beliefs. This is proof that you just CANNOT fix stupid and there's no point in trying.
(the other video wouldn't post my comment) The big bang has evidence too, namely the fact that most heavenly bodies are moving away from one another. Abiogenesis Is the most well supported of the three you mentioned; it's been shown that when biochemicals are exposed to a clay substrate and electrified they form into more complex molecules. Look up "protobiont".
@Turandot29 ya because we all know that you have to be non-religious to be rational. Christians like Issac Newton, lause pastuer, Thomas Aquinas, Augustine, and Galileo are all stupid and irrational and have contributed nothing important to science and philosophy.
@Turandot29 to bad its not an argument, its truth, so that doesn't count. If anyone denies that Issac Newton benefited our scientific understanding and Thomas Aquinas benefited our philosophical thinking, then they dont know what they are talking about.
@InDefenseofChrist Why besmirch the legacies of Newton and Aquinas when discussing the idiocy of one Kent Hovind and his phony PhD from a hack, christian diploma mill located in someone's basement? You sure are talking applies and oranges here, buddy.
@InDefenseofChrist Isaac Newton wasn't a mainstream Christian; he was a Unitarian. He rejected the trinity doctrine. He also was irrational at times, in terms of his beliefs in astrology and the philosopher's stone (alchemy). He'd keep the fires going in his home all the time, attempting to witness the transmutation of base metals into gold. He was a brilliant scientist, but was also a bit spacey.
I respect the astronomer as someone who's trying to reconcile his scientific mind with his religious beliefs but he's letting Hovind come off too easy by appeasing him.
Hovind on the other hand, comes off as incredibly rude. He attacks Ross on his Hebrew when he never said he understood it, and his background at having discovered religion after science. Why? Also notice Hovind furiously scribbling through the debate or on his laptop (probably googling whatever might help).
The thing is, God isn't limited; so both might be right!

what is important is that God made the universe period. But, if genesis is not taken as it is, than how does one know what to believe and not to believe from the Bible?
If the Bible has even one thing wrong, then it is an invalid book. But God's word is never wrong for it is holy. So, do we believe the Bible as a whole or not? One cannot choose which parts to believe and which parts not to believe.
tdforjesus 1 year ago
@tdforjesus you are right, but how people will believe in everything of the bible, if they want believe in anything else, the good pretext is to twist the mesage in any way to justify dreams or wrongs ideas. Example, the bible is very clear when it says that the world was made in six days(evening came... and then morning.), and not in one six "days".(???)
xchris1800 1 year ago
@tdforjesus Why is it important that "God made the universe, period"? Is it not more important for the human race to explore and understand as much as possible about ourselves and the universe of which we are a part? Simply accepting religious texts as true and factual rather negates that process by putting the conclusion before the investigation; a bit like putting the cart before the horse.

Exodus 20:9-11 Destroys Hugh Ross's LIe that 'a day didn't really mean a day" Scam.
EvolutionLIE 1 year ago
@EvolutionLIE No it doesn't. Ross already addressed that. 1) Exodus wasn't written in english, and 2) the preposition that the KJV uses to give the appearance of a direct analogy is not found the [original] text. Ross is correct.
Ross is also supported by the most revered rabbinical commentator on the Torah (e.g. Maimonides) who strongly criticized the literalist view.
gmn545 1 year ago
@gmn545 ..ross is spiritually dead ! Only a true man of God can see that. Not unliike academics such as 'dawkins' who countenance is a dead pan grey. This reveals the Holy Spirit is Not with him, not that i expect you to understand spiritual matters
You either 'Believe' God's Way Unquestionably Or Not, there's No Inbetween.
Man's vain 'logic and reason' will Die wit them
it's so easy to baffle people with b.s, that's the nature of man, that's why so many fall for Lies such as evoltuion
EvolutionLIE 1 year ago
@EvolutionLIE "Spiritually dead" Ad hominem. Ross is clearly correct in the two points I cited and instead of refute that, you just attack him (claiming "the Holy Spirit is not with him" with NO stable framework to back up how you arrived at such a conclusion), and then the condescending "not that I expect"...some "christian" you are.
Since the underlying assumption for BOTH Hovind and Ross is God is omnipotent, who says things couldn't occur in the way Ross is describing it?
gmn545 1 year ago
@EvolutionLIE And evolution is a valid scientific theory which best explains biodiversity. It (along with science altogether) rests on methodological naturalism (note: NOT metaphysical), i.e. it cannot comment on the 'supernatural'; it remains neutral on the question of God. Millions of theists (including reputable scientists) have no problem in accepting it, and they do so based on the overwhelming evidence for it.
Evidence: atavistic traits, endogenous retroviruses, observed speciation, etc.
gmn545 1 year ago
@gmn545 ..sorry fella, you're one of the gullible that trusts the vain philosophies of man. You say hughes is right, why ??? because you agree with him ! LOL,
spare me the 'retrovirus' example. the best an 'evolutionist philosopher' can do is give examples of unicellular organisms, NEVER, complex multicellular orgainisms such as mammals etc....Nor can you provide any Evidence to prove 'Abigenesis'.
only the naive and gullible fall for the Scam that is 'evolution philosophy'
EvolutionLIE 1 year ago
@EvolutionLIE I say Ross is correct on the issue of the text not giving a direct analogy, as the preposition is NOT there in the original hebrew. I agree with that because I've read the text myself (anyone can...biblos. com).
"Spare me" Argument from incredulity. I love how you can't site any scientific facts which would discredit retroviruses as evidence. You also completely ignored [observed] speciation.
Abiogenesis =/= evolution. How life began is a separate issue to how it diversifies.
gmn545 1 year ago
@gmn545 ... We ALL know why Science Keeps the "Disciplines" SEPARATED ....LOL
We Can't have ALL the WHITE Elephants in the SAME Room At the SAME Time ...LOL
That Would Require A Whole Heck of a Lot of Explanation...ROFL
So what Does 'Science' Claim....Oh No, Abiogenesis and Evolution are InCongruent...We Cannot Speak About How We Cannot Justify their "Connection" LOL
An Idiot Knows that there's Such a thing Called "Chronology" But 'Science' HATES Chronologies Applied to their SCAMS !
EvolutionLIE 1 year ago
@EvolutionLIE Yes they are separated because a theory only explains a SET of empirical observations; there isn't a theory of everything. Diversification and origins are not the same thing, duh. Are you gonna claim that because the theory of gravity doesn't explain where germs came from, it's invalid?
And 'lol'ing after every sentence doesn't make your argument any less fallacious. Until you cite actual scientific evidence to falsify it, evolution stands.
gmn545 1 year ago
@gmn545 ...the Point is, is that IF Those "Theories" were CORRECT, there Would be NO Problem with The Chronology of Events ACTUALLY Occuring.
But Of Course, We All Know Science hasn't got the "Courage" to Have the Chronology of Events Analysed because their "Theories" would Crash and Burn VERY Quickly.
If Science has So Much Confidence in the "Big Bang" well Then EXPLAIN the Transition from INAnimate to ANIMATE, NON-Living Matter to LIVING Matter. !
FACT Is they Have NO Such Confidence
EvolutionLIE 1 year ago
@EvolutionLIE How does science not have the courage when their [published] journals are online to be read?
Scientists themselves admit to not having all the answers [yet], but unknowns drive scientific investigation. If step 1 is unknown, that does NOT discount everything we know from steps 2 and onward (this is the case with the big-bang and evolution).
Again, you're ignoring the evidence without citing any scientific facts to invalidate them. Only by doing so will you discredit the theory.
gmn545 1 year ago
@gmn545 ...LOL...so Now you're Telling Me that there's Academic Papers that Discuss the Transition from 'Big Bang - Non Living Matter to Living matter" AND "Abiogenesis and Evolution ???>
LOL...Yet you Denied it Earlier stating "Abiogensis=/=Evolution"
You play the "Duck and Weave" Game my friend.
If Science Theories Re: Big Bang, Abiogenesis, Evolution had Credibility they Would ALSO Investigate the TRANSITIONS From One to Another.
They DON'T...They're Scared of Being Exposed
EvolutionLIE 1 year ago
@gmn545 ...for you to compare "germs and gravity" simply displays your absurd thought process.
Look up the Definition of "Chronology" before coming out with such a ridiculous comparison.
here i'll help you >>>
Big Bang >>> Inanimate Gases in Infinite Space >>> Rock /Water/Slime :>>>> Dash of Magic Powder "Life from NON-Life" >>>> Evolution Scam !
EvolutionLIE 1 year ago
@EvolutionLIE For you to NOT get why theories are separated (due to each only explaining a particular SET of empirical observations) displays your absurd thought process.
A better "chronology" would be: cosmology (physics, including stellar nucleosynthesis), biochemistry (abiogenesis), and biology (evolution). Hubble's Law, General relativity, cosmic microwave background radiation, etc. all support the big-bang. Dr. Jack Szostak's (2009 Nobel Laureate) lab work confirms MUCH of abiogenesis...
gmn545 1 year ago
@EvolutionLIE To see Dr. Szostak's work displayed in powerpoint / video form...
watch?v=U6QYDdgP9eg
I never denied that academic papers don't discuss such matters. I was clarifying the importance of SEPARATING scientific theories, as the only explain a SET of empirical observations. For the last time, how life began (abiogenesis)=/=how life diversifies (evolution).
You STILL can't cite any evidence to falsify any of the theories. Appealing to incredulity and "lol"ing won't cut it, "friend".
gmn545 1 year ago
@EvolutionLIE
typo: I never denied that academic papers DO discuss such matters.
gmn545 1 year ago
@gmn545 ....We know the "True" Reason Science 'shoves it's head in the sand", Not unlike yourself, when asked to Explain the "Chronology" of Events.
Why ? Because if One Domino Falls, the ENTIRE Scientific Philosophies /Beliefs Re: Life as we Know it, COLLAPSES Like a House of Cards !
LOL...
If Not True, Well Discuss and Investigate the TRANSITIONS from Big Bang >>> Abiogenesis >>> Evolution
FACT Is ..Science Cannot and Will Not for Fear of Being Exposed !
EvolutionLIE 1 year ago
@EvolutionLIE That is not the "true" reason; you simply ignore the way things are done in science. Spouting off platitudes won't help you.
As for "house of cards", incorrect. Darwin himself, in Origins of Species (last chapter) stated that it's [possible] that the first single-celled organisms could have been "breathed into by a creator", and diversification (evolution) simply occured thereafter. He, like everyone else who UNDERSTANDS how scientific theories work, knew they're separate issues.
gmn545 1 year ago
@gmn545 ...LOL....Dream On !
EvolutionLIE 1 year ago
@EvolutionLIE "Dream On" ...I've asked repeatedly for you to cite actual scientific evidence that would discredit the theories in question, and all you post are appeals to incredulity. It seems that's all you have. Pathetic.
You fail. Thanks for playing, though.
gmn545 1 year ago
@gmn545 ..you like "Ross" want to "Hedge their Bets" to comfort yourselves amongst your "scientific peers"....it's called "Peer Group Pressure".
Unfortunately for you and Ross, God doesn't Accept "Compromises" of His Truth.
You Don't Even Know that "evolution" is a Pagan based philosophies which Darwin Ripped off someone Else.
you want to comfort yourself by 'embracing the Lies of Science' whilst having a Vain hope in God by Compromising and Denying His Way.
EvolutionLIE 1 year ago
@EvolutionLIE "God doesn't accept 'compromises' of his truth" Again, your entire position rests on a logical fallacy: No True Scotsman (look that up).
"evolution is a pagan based philosophies which Darwin ripped off someone else" Genetic Fallacy. The idea of atoms and 'life coming from water' came from pagans too. Doesn't invalidate them.
You want to comfort yourself by simply disregarding the evidence and settling for incredulity. Again, spouting off platitudes won't help you. You STILL fail.
gmn545 1 year ago
@gmn545 ...you ask "who says things couldn't occure in the way Ross is describing it ?"
real simple...Scripture is Holy Spirit inspired by chosen men of God...thus I believe Scripture above and beyond a man, such as Ross, who DENIES the Literal Interpretation of Genesis AND Like to Squeeze In the Vain Philosophies of man, ie. 'evolution philosophy' to appease his 'academics' and justtify his position in academia.
any man who Denies God Word is No Man of God, but Prefers the praises of men
EvolutionLIE 1 year ago
@EvolutionLIE Ross isn't denying the validity of scripture; he's stating that the early chapters of Genesis delve deeper than the face-value [english] text. The most revered rabbinical commentators (e.g. Maimonides, Saadia Gaon, et al) including the top christian philosophers (e.g. Thomas Aquinas, William Lane Craig) all take Ross' side.
To say "if you're not literalist, you're not a man of God" is simply an appeal to the No True Scotsman fallacy.
Key word: fallacy!

Giladdzz 1 year ago
@Giladdzz Actually we are all in God's 7th day in rest which hasn't ended. Therefore is the reason God hasn't created again. We conclude that the 7th day ends when God creates again the new heaven and earth mentioned in the book of revelations.
TGSHokuto 1 year ago
@TGSHokuto
Giladdzz 1 year ago
@Giladdzz The problem with that is that it is scientifically impossible for the universe and the earth to have been created in a week.
TGSHokuto 1 year ago
@Giladdzz thats because as kent said they used their ''knowledge'',their own human inteligence to try to make the bible fit on our intelect as men, but GOD is not a man HE doesnt have our limitations(laws)or thinks the way we do,all we need is to have faith that our GOD is able to achieve anything anytime even if that is out of our understanding or the reach of todays science,AMEN!

...since woman and fire are spelled the same, the only difference is a simple "dot" at the end of the word in Hebrew, which was added during the adoption of the modern Hebrew language. This makes sense, because Zecharyah 5 is talking about a nuclear warhead...not a "woman" in a flying basket. These guys need to do some more homework!
ReadyPrepper 1 year ago

@Apologist117 Interestingly enough, Hovind went on to say during the debate, "I don't care what any Church Fathers said." So your argument is moot. Also, the Big-Bang is not a lie. Both of these guys are embarrassing to a rational thinker. But Hovind is worse by far.

Hugh Ross is the real deal as a physicist.

"Accurate"??? In what respect? Hovind has aboslutely no science to stand on ... only his good ol' boy, gosh darn demeanor.
Turandot29 1 year ago
@Turandot29 ya because we all know that you have to be non-religious to be rational. Christians like Issac Newton, lause pastuer, Thomas Aquinas, Augustine, and Galileo are all stupid and irrational and have contributed nothing important to science and philosophy.

@InDefenseofChrist, I have two words for you: Straw man.
Turandot29 1 year ago
@Turandot29 to bad its not an argument, its truth, so that doesn't count. If anyone denies that Issac Newton benefited our scientific understanding and Thomas Aquinas benefited our philosophical thinking, then they dont know what they are talking about.

@InDefenseofChrist Why besmirch the legacies of Newton and Aquinas when discussing the idiocy of one Kent Hovind and his phony PhD from a hack, christian diploma mill located in someone's basement? You sure are talking applies and oranges here, buddy.
Turandot29 1 year ago

Hovind: I'm right, you're wrong.
Ross: I'm right, you're wrong.
Me: Hey, disphits, you're both wrong. There is not God.

Mr Hugh Ross, why, just why did you waste 2 hours of your life debating that brain dead ignorant hypocrite?
