I love weed because it curbs my cravings for alcohol. I tried weed for the first time when I was 18 and loved it, I did not feel like doing it the next day although it would have been fine if I did. Wish I had done weed first in highschool. I wrote my english final on weed and aced it.

There is quite a difference between having an addiction and simply craving something. The symptoms which lead to addiction is not even visually evident when it comes to marijuana. Ask anybody, you dont get depressed(unless you're bummed about not having any), you dont get jittery, none of that. So in all respects, the statement of marijuana being addictive is simply not true

THC does release dopamine indirectly as you're undertaking a behavior that's pleasurable, which thereby activates the reward pathway in your nucleus accumbens. It doesn't directly do it like crack or even raise it to anywhere near an unsafe level.
The point i try to make is that it isn't inherently addictive, but when anti-marijuana people see a person addicted to it, they say that I'm wrong. I only provide the information that i do to show that it's possible to become addicted to it, but not in the same manner as other drugs.

You CAN be "addicted" (*USED TO) a feeling you need, you want to feel etc. so yes, but you wont get abstinence by not smoking pot.
There ARE some slightly negative effects by long term use of marijuana (Such as psychosis and social withdrawal, the withdrawal usually goes away, like normal depression).
i wouldnt say theres absolutely no addiction relating to pot. marijuana definitely makes you feel good, and as with all other things, something that makes you feel very good will make you want to do it, but the thing with marijuana is that its a safe drug and opens up the creative mind, so im all for the legalization.

I'm im med school at the moment and i have to smoke weed just about everyday to help take the pressure off. I have almost a 4.0 GPA and im definitely not missing out on anything by smoking pot.

It may not be best for all medical patients, or even as a recreational drug.....some people just do not like the way it makes them feel, and that's totally fine. Most people CAN use it with ABSOLUTELY no problems. Most people can eat peanut butter with absolutely no problems as well, but some people are allergic to it and can die from it. Ban peanut butter?

You can become addicted to anything that you enjoy, because it releases dopamine in the brain.
Weed definitely isn't physiologically addictive, but one can have a marijuana habit that is tough to break, there just won't be withdrawal symptoms. Ever heard of sex addiction? It's very real, and sex doesn't do anything except release tension and feel awesome, just like weed.

I, personally, am able to take breaks when i need to for one reason or another without problem, but in the past it's been hard for me.
Smoking weed isn't harmless, but it definitely should not be illegal, and the benefits can easily outweigh the risks if you're smart about how you use it, just like alcohol, which is obviously legal.

THC does release dopamine indirectly as you're undertaking a behavior that's pleasurable, which thereby activates the reward pathway in your nucleus accumbens. It doesn't directly do it like crack or even raise it to anywhere near an unsafe level.

You CAN be "addicted" (*USED TO) a feeling you need, you want to feel etc. so yes, but you wont get abstinence by not smoking pot.
There ARE some slightly negative effects by long term use of marijuana (Such as psychosis and social withdrawal, the withdrawal usually goes away, like normal depression).

I'm 16 and even now I wouldn't allow my future children to smoke weed unless it's for some type of disease.
I think the government needs to legalize it, and then put age restrictions like those on alcohol.
This just goes to support that study that says it's easier for kids to buy marijuana than it is to buy beer.
