  • go on dad lol

  • Thanks for the comments, I knew what I was doing, you must understand there are different ways of tackling in certain situations and the decision I made was the correct one. If I was to take the tackle with my head on the left hand side , and slid my hands down his legs to his ankles, he wouldn't have gone into touch, he would have scored. Doing it the way I did, I was able to keep my legs moving, and force him into touch, Mick Burke.

  • In this tackle (not the greatest video, sorry)the tackler, makes his initial impact with his right shoulder (conventionally the 'wrong' shoulder when ball carrier is on his left) this means that more of his body weight gets infront of the ball carrier, and this succeeds in arresting his forward mottion sufficiently to enable Burke to drive him over the touch line.

If Burke had used his left shoulder and gone low, around the ankles, I believe the ball carrier would probably have scored.

  • The conventional way to tackle, taught to league and union players is that if the ball carrier is on your left, you hit with your left shoulder. 'cheek to cheek' means-left cheek of your face against left cheek of their arse, slide down a bit, wrap the legs together, bring the ball carrier to ground,

  • how was that wrong shoulder, and cheek to cheek what never head that i heard take the legs/ankles

    terrible picture
