  • Quit fiddling around and show the components!

  • I never say anything bad about anyone, especialy trying to repair electronics, but you guys need some schooling on electronics. In no way this helps anyone. I have 2 degrees in electronics and own a small car audio amp repair business. I have designed and built tube amps for guitars and car amps as well as home audio. If you are still around and need some help, please ask me. Those voltages on those tube amps are 300 volts DC and more. You can get hurt.

  • @skinnmanskinn This whole video is a cry for help. did you even read the discription, it clearly states that they have no idea what is the problem and go on to ask if ANYONE knows what the problem might be to post a (helpful)comment. I have the same problem with an amp i was given. So i've spent the last two hours trying to find an answer before i came across this video hoping to have someone say something helpful. It is apparent you have the answer, but not willing to share.

  • I took my amp apart 2 years ago, now I can't remember how to put it back together

  • Since no one gave any advice... What I would do first, is check the fuse with a continuity test on the meter. If it's okay, power the amp up with the speaker connected!!! or connected to a dummy load. Then, check to make sure the heater voltage is 6.3ish volts (measure across the power lamp if you want). Next check that you get high voltage off the rectifier tube. My money is on a bad rectifier. If it's ok, check the voltage coming off the B+ and preamp/PI feeds. Check ALL solder joints.

  • I agree with Keithtyler145, my dad would have punched me in the nose!!!! But you should do less talking, more listening.......you learn a lot more!

  • All you out there getting on the kid, F-U! It wil be the sadest day of my life when my dad leaves this earth, hes the best! Kid- enjoy and cherish every father-son project you can share with him!

  • you do realize, things from the 60's arent the best...we do have a new generation of heavy metal...why not go to the local music store, buy a fender gdec3 and some distortion pedals and all that...trust me, ive been playing for 9 years and in the band i play in, old stuff aint cuttin it, neither will this piece of garbage....NICE VID THOUGH...

  • @shadowspast1 Now THAT is some serious ignorance... I guess you might hear those newer amps on the latest Disturbed records, but any record made worth listening to will use "the old crap" or newer amps that copy almost exactly, the "old crap". Also, a 10 watt amp like that is considered a practice amp, and not a touring rig, so leave the kid alone on that.

  • 1963!!! why would you try to fix it,,,,,,it belongs in the trash!!

  • im having problems with my squier/fender sp 10 amp. for some reason when i turn it on, i can barely hear anything coming out of it, i even turned it up and it didnt change. idk what messed up when it tipped over. i need an answer because ITS NOT MINE!!! at least i got another one thats way better than this piece of shit. even if i have to pay for another one its only about $50 somewhere.

  • damn kids are annoying, "what's this do..." as he pokes the speaker cone.

  • @mortald If i was your kid i would punish myself!!

  • if that was my dad he would have said get that god damn camera out of the way and go get me a mountain dew lol

  • same thing happened to me with my old Ail-10 Peavy Amp.i am going to see if my dd cn dismantle it with me,cuz it was a really kool amp,i like the '63 skylark a lot, send the amp to gibson & see if the can repair it. it will most likely cost a good $100-$200

  • i need help i have a gorllia amp that when i turn it on i get a light but no sound will come though

  • @xx55AC55xx I also got a 30 watt gorilla for around $60, but it doesn't sound as 30 watts...

  • it doesnt sound good at all

  • @xx55AC55xx I have the same problem with this peavey standard that someone gave me. I was helping them clean and asked what they would want for it and they gave it to me. I think it had been sitting their for like ten+ years. The fuse looks good. opend it up and all the solder joints looked good. Could it be the filter capacitors?

  • @xx55AC55xx fyi i am not asking you, merely grouping my comment with yours.

  • Very interesting.....but wasn't this past your bedtime?

    Lots of love,

    Mom

  • @kriskringle32 whore
