  • What's with the blond obsession at 0:29 through 0:44? I guess it adds to the outfit, but they all have blond hair... :P

Now I REALLY want to be an exchange student there. :P

  • @Kestrelcloud well i thinks it's because they are cosplaying bou from antic cafe

  • =P I wish I could get away with dressing like that!

  • who is the singer? Gwen Stefani?

  • Dang guys we need a Harajuku bridge in the usa!

  • `i wish london had clothing lyk tha but i cant find any shops does any 1 noe any

  • So CuTe....(^_^)

    I Love Fashion...

  • Wow! Such great fashion :)

  • naaaw so many bou cosplayers ^-^

  • Harajuku it must be fun dress like that and no one look u like a freak!

  • Harajuku is such a cool concept! I mean, in a society where there are such high standards it's good to express yourself :)

I kinda wish Gwen Stefani hadn't brought it to light like she did, now people overlook it's true origins...

  • @GeekRose99 I feel the same way. Not evrone in harajuku that does these fashions is a girl first of all and secondly she barley even began to describe the unique stlye. She didn't even talk about lolita fashion or cosplay and anime stuff. She didn't even go in to visual kei which is the crossdressing bands of japan like an cafe, the gazette, and versailles that are popular with a lot of harajuku kids.

  • Tis a lot of cosplay here.

  • @dibhackett69 It sounds really fake to me... In the "scene kid" kind of way... Like everyone would be acting really animated and loud and random because they want attention. Like if I went there and asked a "Punk" who their favorite band was, out of friendliness, because I figure there's common interest, they'd tell me "IDEK XD I JUST WARE THES PATCHEZ N STUFF CUZ THERE COOL LOOKIN". Is that another "stupid 'assumption'", or am I right about most of the people "acting" instead of just "being"?

  • @GenoClown who cares what it sounds like to you. it's not your culture, so it's not your business. if you don't get it mind yo business.

  • @denisonM WUT. U MAD?

  • Those pyscho de cemu and an cafe cosplays are great but those are visual kei

  • 1:05 girl in purple.....she is so not japanese!! Cute vid, but I hate the song!!!

  • @gyqz its not the original.. its by gwen stafani, but this girl redid it.. look up the original its better.

  • cosplay de bou oOo

  • Oh please....harajuku is not a special kind of style. its a place and there are not only people who are wearing unusual clothes. there are a lot of dancers, too. visit it!

  • @TadamuLuver But crazy and weird is good. Who cares what them Bad-Weird's think. They've got no style. ;|

  • Gatta love the Japanese

  • Are they action figures?

  • 0:49 = WOW *O*

  • so love thise style *o* wish I can find clothes like these in my cauntry too ToT

  • *eye twitches* why is gwen's song in the background?...she makes america look bad in the "Visual kei" sense... :( love the video, though, good choice of pictures!

  • they look better than "emo kids"

  • I woud love if i moved to japan!

  • I am still so baffled how such a traditional county and culture after WW2 turned out to be so free and liberal with the youth. When did all this trend start and why?

  • song?xx

  • so basicly weirdness but japenese

  • oh. my. god. ! at the 49th second....he is HOT HOT HOT oh how i envy the japanese

  • @TadamuLuver : You dont get it xD Dressing up in a alternative style like harajuku is about being crazy and weird and you want people to stare at you xD You want to say: Look at my Im diffrent. Mind? Your problem. You dont want to fit in you want people to see that you dont care about what they think of your style.. So just wear harajuku in america and dont give a fuck! In Japan most people dont dress harajuku either and harajuku's are stared at 2 but the dont give a fuck =p

  • HARAJUKU IS SOOO COOOLL!!!!!!

  • Think of this as Japan's "casual Friday" except it's on the weekend. :D

Also, Harajaku is the cosplay capitol of Japan. ^_^

  • Harajuku is like the Japanese equivelant of Camden Market in London

Just people dressing there own way to express themselves

  • 1:21 lol. chip and dale...i wanna dress like these people...

  • Gaah Asains can get away with so much D;

  • Kawaii<333333

  • Why???

  • okay, hardly any of those were harajuku.. and what a stupid song >_>

  • like omfg. its rlyy rare to find unicorn mind person , who would dress what he wants colorful or crazy and wouldnt care what others think >>"

  • japanese people like to mix so many trends together and make it their own even if it means clashing a lot. Americans dont want to clash that much!

  • I find their sense of fashion adorable.

I really want to move to Japan

    :)

  • I remember the time when I went to a movie theatre with my friends and I saw some Harajuku girls. Their outfits were adorable. They're very hard to find in Canada. It was nice to see that there was a piece of Japan here. Anywhoo, my friends were like, is there some kind of anime convention?! LOL! =D I love Harajuku girls...they're the last bit of originality out there. They break free from any restrictions. <3

  • what the heck is this song???

  • @banananocchiringo Its a song by Gwen stefani

  • I love how unique every outfit is but I have one thing to say ; It must be Hot!

  • @dibhackett69

agreed. but did you know people cosplay harajuku? im not sure how, but i think its the decora/ fairy kei fashion.

and yes! i'd love to do this on weekend too, but unfortunately england has too much prejudice....

  • I miss being happy...

  • who cares if they stare do it n e ways you are you you choose what you like not others have fun with it i do!

  • I want the clothes the blonde girl at 1:07 is wearing SO BAD!!!!

  • I quite enjoy these fashions. I guess that's why I dresss the same way.

  • halloween japaneses ??

  • I wish america could dress like japan! Cause everytime i go in public wearing a Japanese looking outfit people just stare at u and think ur crazy or weird. :(

  • @TadamuLuver be you. fuck haters. just be you. harakuju is so cute and i always compliment on it. i wish i could wear it. be out there for those of us who dont or cant be like that :D

  • @TadamuLuver

what i do is hang with vk / oshare / fairy kei friends, this way, they cant be confused! XD

    im heavy vk. hbu?

  • @chise101 Im probly harakuju/vk

  • @TadamuLuver I KNOW RIGHT?

I dress in japanese style all the time, and get ridiculed here in ameria.

But in japan...they see that as a really AMAZING thing

  • @TadamuLuver they still think that there. there;s just more people dressing up, and thinking other people look crazy

  • @TadamuLuver people still think they are crazy and weird in japan, just there are more crazy and weird people so it normal...ish

  • @Viczko haha! XD that's awesome!! making the crazy and odd normal xD. which other country would actually do something cool as that?? =) i LOVE japan. im definitely visiting, and if i like it ill definitely live there someday =D

  • @TadamuLuver id say i like your clothes lol^__^

  • @TadamuLuver I say we start a rebellion!!

  • @TadamuLuver maybe Because you are? beside almost all the anime character looks like Caucasian or some other race... they looks nothing like Asian...

  • @TadamuLuver you can think of "scene" as a toned down version of visual kei so we are kinda like that (i tease up my hair and shit and wear frilly outfits) but you are right people need to express themselfs more in america and say fuck you to anyone who thinks it wrong to dress like datts :p

  • @TadamuLuver i kno seriously but i only wear harajuku clothes on halloween!!!!!!!!

  • @TadamuLuver they would get beat up and made fun of.

  • @TadamuLuver ikr it sucks. it be cool if somebody made a group or some thing of ppl who dress like this then maybe others would start to dress like it also if they wanted to just saying

  • you can do that in new york : ) its actually odd in japan too. people just don want to be impolite. they try to be harmonious : D

  • @TadamuLuver agreed :) I wanna visit Japan just for that reason!!

  • @TadamuLuver I do it anyways lol

  • @TadamuLuver dont wish that america could dress the same the do in japan bcause then japan wont be unique and staff D= and wheres your confidence? if u think that u look weird or u dont have confidence about how u dress then dont bother dressing that way at all D=!!

  • @TadamuLuver Thats why you need confidence!!!! bravery! But the same thing happens to me. I just show off sort of ;D But in a good way.

  • @TadamuLuver Wow... Social misfit... Hard life. ...Oh wait, then there's the 3rd world.

  • @TadamuLuver Hey i know exactly how you feel i live in a town where the population is like 5,000

and i'm seriouesly the only one here that dresses Loligoth or LoliAris so yeaah but its fin being different :]

  • @TadamuLuver some people do

  • @TadamuLuver I would agree with you but I do it anyway! ^-^ but americans do need to be more open minded

  • @Hayden5075 I completely agree with you.

  • @TadamuLuver are these guys are dressing like that because of widespread social acceptance? you can get a suit and tie for that. It is always hard to be different that is why so few people do it. Trust me if the mainstream media started pushing an american imitation of the harajuku thing, you would just vomit every time you see it instead of appreciating how awesome it is right now. Mainstream corrupts everything. Be yourself look at your own mind and don't worry what other people think.

  • @TadamuLuver Thats because its america idiot, diffrent cultures diffrent outfits

  • may i know what's the background music of this video? =)

  • @zhermishmish It's "Harajuku Girls" from Gwen Stefani

  • i think some of those are from and anime convention of some sort. Still awesome though

  • If everyone dressed like they really are inside, we wold be something like the japanese in the pictures. Wohay to them! They are true to themselves in something we "normal people" ain't.

  • That ended abruptly...

  • i like it. it is a little like decora <33 and lolita

  • i love the style so much!

  • @Scott52901 shouldnt you stfu?

  • yeah, it was just an unfunny joke I guess.. But tokyo looks so hott, especially odaiba and the senso-ji temple!

  • 0:33 bou-kun cosplay !!!!!!!!LOL

  • could pls someone tell me what harajuko actually is? O.o it confuses me a bit.

What is that makes this style different from all the others?

  • @ImBreakingThaHabit

Harajuku is a station in Tokyo, with in front of it Harajuku Bridge and 'Pedestrian Heaven' (think: huge area for just pedestrians). The 'Harajuku style' itself does not exist, it's mostly used as a name for all the different styles that are shown in Harajuku.

  • technically it would be better served if it was referred to as harajuku style(s)

  • Great pics...horrid song

  • Haha, I love Decora girls and all other styles except Ganguro or whatever it's called. I tend to dress like his sometimes. People stare I don't care. :D

  • ohh please this is in tokio...

  • WOW!! I WANNA GO TO TOKIO OR CHINA!!!

  • It's Tokyo. and China doesn't do these things as far as I know. Just Japan.

  • Yes, of course, i guessed. Part of my ancestors come from Japan, i'm a mixture between this raze and latin brought up in U.S.A. I speak English and Spanish and some people have asked me if i have chinese roots But i just say "No" not chinese But japanese roots. I know the difference and i am proud of it. Thanks!!!

  • Yeah, I totally hate it when people say, "Japan and China are the same they both wear weird cothes." It really annoys me how they all think it's the same.

  • yay. someone who knows their stuff

  • u fail. that really didnt relate to the topic that much...

  • 原宿ってすごいですね!!

  • do people really dress like this , like everyday?

  • yes

  • @Aliciafreak07 Yes, but the funny thhing is that most people who do don't live in Japan. I and many others in Sweden dress like this everyday and are completely accepted 0.o But I've heard that it's considered very 'nerdy' in Japan since most people who dress like this are otakus and only do it on the weekends... I guess there are SOME exceptions, but I won't belive there are that many.

  • god i hate gwen stefani, shes whoring out japan, everything to do with anime and japan is now SUPER TOTALLY COOL now...i hate that. people should stop following what ever is "cool"

  • Bitch please anime was around before your 12 year old ass, try 1950 - 1960 anime was in America even then so shut your fucking mouth. People like you are the one who give Japan a terrible name. It's not exclusive to you, it's for everyone so go shut your mouth and crawl back onto Gaia in your little corner where you think you are so different and deep and emotional.

  • i love japanese fashion!!!!!!!

  • where is hara juku in japan? close tokyo or?

  • It's a shopping district in Tokyo.

  • No its an atual place. Harajuku Japan.

  • My statement that Harajuku is "a shopping district in Tokyo" would indicate that I'm fully aware it's an actual place... like how Soho is a district in NYC.

  • Its a place where all the bad kids go. Its almost like hell but more colorful.

  • It's inside tokyo, in the centre

  • Isn't mot of this Cosplay and not Harajuku?

  • on 0:34 i'm not sure they all are girls :P

  • JAPAN THE TRUE LOVE OF MY LIFE!!! if i can reach japan ill surely be able to finally transform into a super saiyan or maybe release my reiatsu!! wooohoooo!!! ill become a bad ass shinigami or maybe a saint like seiya!:D:D:D

  • harajuku fashion!!!! oh yeahhhhh...

  • ok, for real guys?

i'm japanese, ive been there, 99% of the people there do not dress like that. those are the nerds and outcasts.

    geez.... go get a life

  • it takes guts for anyone to dress like that. I should know, I'm ganguro with Decora mix, and ya, calm down, you CAN mix styles, anyways, you shoudlnt talk if your a coward to try new things or even have a style

  • And you're probably overweight and obsessed with anime.

Besides, who are you to say i don't have style? You've never met me. So, tell me, how would you know?

  • I'm beginning to think you're a nerd... And who the hell cares if they are outcasts? Isn't that the point of dressing like that?? To be away from the crowd? It's called underground and it's way better then mainstream...

  • Well, I guess that would depend on what you would consider a nerd.

That is not soming to aspire to, people need to look around at the real world.

  • Is that not the real world? Please enlighten me on what "the real world" is...

  • In the real world we only celebrate halloween once a year.

So, remind me why i'm a nerd?

  • Halloween? honey we aren't talking about halloween...

Because your unopenness to people who aren't like you..

  • your message is approved!!! someone who sticks up for us "outcasts" ¬_¬ ...good lord...even if people who dress in a weird way (me) seem like nerds and outcasts at least were open minded to fashions of the unopen minded people. thank you for sticking up for these fashions!!! (^_^)

  • lol anytime.. I love "outcasts" (lol) they aren't afraid to be different... They are so much more interesting than the close minded people..

  • One, I am not your honey.

Two, you just assume you know me. Well you don't.

  • Jesus just quit it... You're close minded you can't accept anyone who isn't exactly like you we get it!

Just learn to accept and we'll all be happy..

  • Says you.

  • Is this your way of getting kicks? because it's getting really old..

  • I'm sorry ellenanzukume but Harajuku isn't Halloween. Halloween is when little kids (and sometimes older kids) go out on the last day of October and dress up for candy. Harajuku is Japanese culture, where people dress up to be who they want to be, and just have fun. There is more than that, but I don't know EVERYTHING about it.

  • It really isn't "Japanese Culture".

  • For me, it doesn't take guts. But it did the first time. I'm a decora girl, and I look just fine doing it since I look like a small 9 year old child. But yeah, some people will give you a hard time over it, usually if they are goth, emo, or the "Real World" type. Although I somehow managed to turn an emo girl decora once. O.O

  • I agree with you Ellen. I am 75% Japanese & 25% Okinawan. Those people would not regularly dress like that in normal public, usually over there. Most are yes, usually, or at least stereotypically nerds and outcasts. While it takes guts, it does not move your social standing up, rather, it moves it down. It is not looked at as normal. And just because people would rather not be seen as weird does not mean that they are necessarily closed minded.

  • Thanks.

Looking back the comment seems a bit harsh, but I was having one of those days went a totally white person who thinks they're asian was trying to prove they knew more then me, but all they were talking about was anime and cosplay, and it was just very annoying.

  • Wow, judgmental are we

How cares, they are just expressing themselves freely, they don't care what people think of them

  • They care.

  • And you would know this how?

  • There is alot of truth in this. Coming from an occasional Harajuku boy...

  • ohh my god, japan is amazing!

  • perfect song ;)

  • cool! I'm gonna upload some kera scans as soon as I finish popteen , you remind me why I made my channel! ^^

  • fuck off stafanny get ur own style u 48 year old hag .........that byatch ruins anything she gets her hands on .... fake as twat........

  • at 0:30 they look like clones of bou

  • yeah.Bou is so cute!

  • the group of Bou fans made me giggle ;3

  • gwen stefani sucks..she used to be good until she sold out and became so commercial.

  • is this gwen stefani singing???

  • yeah its called harajuku girls.

  • Even though I kind of like her, I think Gwen knows jack-shit about harajuku style.

  • there were some horrible bou cosplayers in this vid!

  • I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.

  • ...why...?

  • I can dig No Doubt, but this song by Gwen Stefani makes my skin crawl...maybe its a guy thing.

  • Oh, I thought you were talking about the Harajuku itself. I was like woah... how can anybody NOT see the awesome here?!

  • I totally respect the Harajuku creativity and individualism, just think this song stinks...lol. But then again I like bluegrass and ska ;-)

  • its so iritating that the most people are afraid to be diffrent. I always walk around in things i like. mutch people look atme when i'm walking on street.

    great video Btw

  • dude it looks like im at the comic-con all over again ^-^

  • OMG... I just realized one thing... I hate this song. o.O

  • lol...um, congratulations?
