  • @nejacne68 He sang it for himself. If you've had a down-trodden life, lacked self-confidence and had a particular gift that few people knew about (he never sang in front of his co-workers), this is the perfect platform. Hit or miss, it would define his life forever. It was a hit...

  • what makes him the best at it

is that he was singing for his audience not for the judges.

he want it a chance to let that musical force to be release from his chest to the world of reality.

    jesse

  • Oh, sorry, I didn't answer the initial question...Paul Potts' version is sung in Italian...

  • The song, "You Raise Me Up," was written by Rolf Lovland from Norway (originally as an instrumental piece), and the lyrics are by Brendan Graham from Ireland...It's based on a traditional Irish tune, and it's been recorded over 125 times...

  • At 4:30, it sounded like Paul was singing "You Raise Me Up", but in a different language. Anyone know what language it is? Thanks!

  • Dear Paul, you aced it, and forget what the critics say..... If you don't believe me, just read some of the reviews Andrea Bocelli gets. Bravo !!!

  • Paul saves BGT!!!

  • He makes me cry too... Incredible...

  • Paul potts makes me cry all the time... i love this guy!

  • Very eye opening! I hadn't realized what an intense story this was for not only Paul Potts, but for the entire BGT production as well. Brilliant editing work.

  • Bravo!

  • Imagine I just stumbled across this two years after he did it. I had no idea about him. He gave me goosebumps. What a great story

  • i love this guy.... he makes me cry every time i hear him

  • shit tht amanda is hott

  • not usually

  • I still am amazed the way Paul Potts thanks the audience and the jury for sharing his music. That little bend when he leaves the stage...that says it all. That smile of gratitude and joy...it's real!

  • He saved himself and the rest of the show...just awesome. Thx Paul

  • say what u want to say, but I never have heard of anyone walking off the street singing opera that well...ever. Everyone wants to bring up Paverotti, which is like comparing Babe Ruth to someone who is good enough to be a professional baseball player..and furthermore, lets see Paul in 15yrs of seasoning and see how much he progresses.

  • You have a point, but consider this:

    - there is something as a good hearing (which I think is most important as a musician) which Paul obviously has

    - there is actually something as being a autodidact

    - he is member of a church choir

    - he did invest in his singing by going to a pavarotti masterclass

    - he takes music serious and put effort in it, aka hard working

So he was in his way "educated"

  • @leshager Listen vacuum brain: Paul Potts is a talent it can never change, no matter how many years pass. Performances live forever.

  • Schöne Dokumentation des "Märchens" Paul Potts!

  • hes so damn amazing

  • Thanks simply awesome!

  • My God !!!

  • Exquisite. Insightful. Poignant.

    An all around brilliant production.
