@scottyp442 - which firmware version are you using? you can try version 2.0T which is the latest. We have firmware files and an update guide available on our website if needed.

@fulgorek - yes it is possible to upgrade the Novo 7 Advanced to Android 4.0 Ice cream Sandwich although it is a "TRIAL" Firmware with bugs/stability issues. We should soon see an updated version released with all problems resolved.

@JBOSGaming - yes we are 100% as we have tried it BUT the current firmware is a BETA so it suffers some stability and compatibility issues. We should see a final/stable release soon! The beta version is available on our website.We may do a short demo in the new year with the BETA firmware if a new release is not out but we have been holding off doing a demo with the hope of demonstrating a fully working 4.0 firmware. @87theclone - there are many 3D/HD compatible games that work with the Novo 7 Advanced. The games to try are those that are developed for the Samsung Galaxy SII as they both have the same Mali-400 GPU.

@TheZorch - this is not the same tablet, both are manufactured by Ainol (pronounced eye-nol) this model is the Novo 7 Advanced, the other is the Novo 7 Basic. Also believe the Basic is $99 + $60 shipping but may be mistaken... Not too sure how the Basic will perform with ICS 4.0 as with 3.2 Honeycomb there are compatibility issues with applications. ICS 4.0 trial firmware has been released for the Advanced so should see more ICS firmware releases coming soon. Thanks

@peteriscool1314 - hello, once connected to the TV via HDMI the tablet should be displayed on the TV, there is currently no HDMI application to enable the HDMI output like the AInol Novo 8.

@jsmat111 - skype for android with video calling works, check out our other Novo 7 video. it is quite normal for browsers to identify the tablet as a mobile device, you can change it to classic/desktop if required. honeycomb 3.2 possibly ICS 4.0 but need to wait and see. we will have the firmware to download on our website when available, thanks.

@nhs2008NC - it is supplied with a mini usb to full size usb OTG (on the go) cable. it supports many usb devices such as keyboards, mice, memory sticks etc, game controllers we have not tested. it is currently 1Ghz but the A10 processor is capable of up to 1.5Ghz, maybe future firmware will take advantage of that. we will try list differences for the novo 7 & 8 soon, android 2.3 firmware coming for novo 8 and new firmware coming for novo 7 within the next week or so, confirmed!

@spcsalce - we updated firmware on windows 7 pc therefore should also work on xp. to begin the firmware update you need to turn off the novo 7 and then press and hold the power & vol + buttons until you hear the windows new hardware detected sound - then release only the power button and press the power button 5-6 times. you will then see the drivers auto install followed by the format method windows. hope this helps, its easy once you have done it.

@Omgitsmeherman - in our honest opinion the display and sound is of good quality. If you look at our demo part2 which is more hands on it may help give you a better idea. This tablet has alot of potential and even though it is a 7" tablet its smaller and lighter than all others we have tested. Overall a great compact and affordable tablet. @xadam2dudex - yes a new firmware has been released although it has not been provided from Ainol themselves, they will be releasing a new firmware also soon! Already have seen much improvement with this firmware but yes unfortunately there is no market yet but there are alternatives to use in the meantime. Please remember the Novo 7 has only just been released and just as the Novo 8 it was not long for a new full stable firmware with the market place. Hope this helps...

@H3ArTLeSsJeRk - there is no gps and the front camera is the usual 0.3mp but rear camera is far better as it is 2.0mp. we had over an hour of video and had to edit down to 15min due to the youtube limit, we will do our best to upload more videos soon as we have some time but will probably wait for the new firmware with android market installed and 3g dongle support. In our honest opinion this tablet is amazing value for money. Hope you liked our first Novo 7 video and thanks for watching!

Yes the battery life seems excellent, we have not done extensive battery tests as yet but we have also read reports of continuous looping video tests exceeding 6hrs... another great feature is being able to charge the Novo 7 via usb! Hopefully we will soon see a new firmware which will include the android market and support adhoc tethering.

We're hoping to see a more comprehensive review soon. It looks like the new SOC with energy management in mind paired with a 14.8 Whr batt + 3.7v configuration is paying off big time.

So far, the only caveats the consumers in China have found so far are the relatively bad screen, HDMI out simply mirroring (no extra options) and some compatibility issues with games which they circumvent by using games made for the i9100 aka SGS II cause of the Mali-400 GPU they have in common.
