Let's face it: Kanzen-ban stunk. It tried it's hardest to be a gripping thriller-type movie, but instead ended up as an unintentionally hilarious horror movie. I'll give the director credit for trying to focus on the book, but it didn't lend itself well to creating a horror mood and ended up being so bad it could have been called "Ringu: The Bob Guccione Version."

I used to only read the novel and it was great! There're 3 series of Ringu in the novel version

The book 1 Ring, da book 2 Spiral(sorry if spelt that wrong) and the book 3 is Loop. I read the first two book and the third haven't yet.

I liked the part that Azakawa's feeling like he's really holding the bloody baby in the video. It's scary..

There is some reason, why Nakata's Ringu became a hit and Ring Kanzenban didn't:

1) The novel was far too hardcore for Japanese people's rigorous customs.

2) Iida inserts a lot too pornography, even more than in novel.

3) Asakawa cares about his child so much as a woman, so they changed his gender to be more credible (and child's gender, for balance).

4) Nakata's skills and Kenji Kawaii's music made a genial connection.

5) Iida isn't so skilled as Nakata (you may argue :D).
