  • Looking forward to the next part/s of this. Been waiting for some time now. :0

  • hey can you show us how to build a jet engine like a turbine i hear its simple but they waste lots of fuel

  • @xjet part 2 coming anytime soon?

  • @jrmurd Yep, hoping to get it done before the end of the month. So much to do, so little time ;-)

  • @xjet do you think i could make a pulse jet from threaded steel pipe and fittings? it would probably be too heavy to mount on a plane, but i was thinking of maybe putting it on a go cart. (wooden, normally gravity powered go cart)

  • when will vid 2 be up? really looking forward to it been waiting for about 3 months! =(

  • @madhazza023 It'll be another 2-3 weeks. I'm just renovating the workshop and moving stuff around to make it much easier to do the videos.

  • waiting for part 2

  • We'll fly the snot out of it - Love it!!

  • Very Cool. I made a pulse jet in my dads shop as a kid. It would be fun to build a more professional version now that I have a fully equipped shop. I would be interested in seeing the spinning lathe in operation as well. Also a part 2 to this video series would be stellar. Thanks -- TMFA

  • @xjet You sent one to china? oh well, say goodby to your invention, youll probably see ripoffs in about 3-6 months

  • @4E047RHH

I wouldn't think so because pulse jets are availble already since the late 70's? I cant remember when it was invented. This is not his invention. Back then pulse jets engine were used in u-control. I just got rid of my u-control pulse jet. But I can get it back :).

  • Cant Wait Bruce...is Ron helping?

  • Is it possible to make a pulsejet using regular not-stainless steel? Do I really need a TIG welding machine? I have only a MIG.

  • @AnttiMaeki You can use a MIG and regular steel but the engine will not be light enough to power an RC plane.

  • Could you use a metal such as Copper to make a pulsejet? Or, is Copper too soft to make a pulsejet.

  • @robdei1 Copper would not be the best option. It softens with heat and it is also too good a conductor of heat to make an easy-starting/running engine.

  • @xjet i want to build a pulsejet. i have two questions. one, would i be able to make a simple one out of threaded steel piping just to get the concepts down, and two, my mom does not want me to do it because she is afraid i will blow myself up, even if i have a remote starting button and i stand a looooooooooooooooong way away. can you help me show her otherwise?

  • awsome, i can't wait for the rest of the series

  • nice bruce

  • Man, i so much wish I was there. you and I will work together to build a one seater Pulse Jet plane and I will test fly it :D can't wait for coming up vids. Pulse jets are getting my interest. Gotta learn a lot from ya

  • I loved your final statement, which is the point of it all, the bottom line, the answer to life, the universe and everything: flying the snot out of it!

Keep up the great work, you are an inspiration to the rest of us.

  • thats a nice setup, sir. must have set you back a pretty penny!

  • Hi Bruce, could yet get in contact re: Pulse Jet eBook? Cheers, Adam Ladd, UK

  • Awesome workshop! Just amazing!

  • i've never owned a rc plane. what's a good plane to get started with?

  • @omfgimback A high wing plane as they are stable somthng like a multiplex fun cub just a suggestion lots out there tho :D

  • amazing

  • Thank you for building this pulsjet for me Bruce. it is very interesting to see how this is done. Now I will look for a plane to mount it on. I will not be surprised if it is a sport 40 from twm. thank you so much. Alf.

  • Nice workshop you got there Bruce. Congrats

  • do you have any planes that you would give or sell to me

  • Good to see you don't need much in the way of sheetmetal and machining equipment lol

  • Is this the throttled pulsejet we heard about?

  • Is this the throttled pulsejet we heard about?

  • Awesome vid once again. Could you make a plane with the pulse jet is actually in the fuselage, kinda like a Sabre jet?

  • @sbglobal You can but you have to be careful about providing plenty of ventilation. I use a ceramic coating on the inside of my engines which reduces the temperature on the outside but you still need plenty of air flowing over them to keep them cool.

  • Great!

  • Tremendous! I have looked forward to the actual building of your pulse jets and have wondered what tools were used in construction. I can see already building one is not just a simple job without the proper tools. I look forward to seeing the use of them in the construction as the project unfolds. Is a ceramic coating still part of the building?

  • @MrToshTogo Yes, I'll be using ceramic.

  • Awesome.

  • ok you need to show the spinning process

  • Bruce, you sure are a busy guy. I can't wait to hear about your home made FPV ideas on your other channel 'cause I'm a cheapskate.

How come it says "2 views" and there's 6 comments? Something screwy with You Tube.

  • Hey I'm goin 2 the field this Sunday...

  • hey that is great u ever flown helicopters ?

  • @henryismaster I used to fly helis back in "the olden days" when we had mechanical gyros :-)

  • @xjet holy crap i cant even imagine how a mechanical gyro would be, that is some stone age shit. maybe a rock rubbing on the tail rotor.... i cant picture a mechanical one.

  • @rolgarcia1 The mechanical gyros had a little electric motor that spun a flywheel and that flywheel was connected to a variable resistor that created the pulses to control the servo. They certainly weren't heading-hold and they did drift a *lot* but they were better than nothing.

  • information, that's excellent bruce!

    greetz

  • Best!

  • Can't wait!

  • HA
