I even think she should have gotten farther because she was a lot better than a lot of people that season. I didn't like this performance in general because of the note she hit at 1:54. However, I am a fan of 'Oh Darling' and 'I feel the Earth move'. She shouldn't have been eliminated for the Carole King song.

I think that this version of the song sounds beautiful all together, but if you watch it over again, you can see that the vocals weren't all that good. Vocally, though, some people may disagree with me, but if you take parts of the song away and listen to them, professionally, you will hate it as i do. But if you hear it for the first time like i did, you will cry because its so beautiful. It just depends on if you pay close attention.

Of course, there is a minimum amount of skill needed, or people won't go back to the song more than once; I think this performance was good enough for those requirements.

That is the best cover for this song after Natasha Bedingfield.The original is horrible to be honest (for me).And yes idk how in hell she got vooted out so easily.

Also,this is one of the best idol performances out of all the 9 seasons.The arrangement and vocals were fantastic.I can't believe Simon only credited her a bit.

She got the pitty vote from the judges when she was put throught to the top 24 cuz she had "the story" and if you cant get that through your thick skulls after all their montages of her I dont know if you even get your ignorant. It was way to slow. Now thats not me saying it needs to be sped up x100. JUst a little faster. It didnt fit well. Vocals were good but the range proved nothing. This was her best performance and that said seeing how she wasnt that good she deserved to go home.Worst Top24

When I saw this live I believed I was seeing a 'moment' that you rarely see on these talent shows. I didn't know who she was until this very song and was stunned by the judges' comments. Yeah it was slow but it was haunting and extremely well done....she made it her own! Although I don't believe she should have won the show(my opinion),she was definitely top 10 and this is still the best female version of this song I've personally heard

The next night was the last night I watched AI. Katelyn was by far the best singer of that season. WTF is right. I am so glad that Lesbian Ellen is off the show as well as Kara. Neither of them had a clue. Can't understand why Randy didn't like this performance though, he actually knows what he's talking about - made as ass out of himself here there - too slow- who cares ? The vocal was beautiful, perfect pitch, tone, color, warmth. Hope Katelyn makes it big some day.

this was my favorite performance that night. i could not believe it when she got eliminated. i absolutely thought this was perfect and would have killed for katelyn to have performed this during the "top 12 and forward" part of the show as she would have made a studio version of this song. it would have been an incredible ballad-type version of this coldplay favorite. shame on you, america.

This was the best performance of this song I ever heard. I wanted to smack Ellen and the others during the judging. Katelyn was obviously trying to put her own spin on the song, which is why she slowed it down. I thought she did a great job. After she was voted out, I stopped watching. She was really the only one I liked and wanted to see more of. Hopefully she won't let this stop her from advancing her singing career and we will hear more from her.

I dont understand how the judges think. Look, she barely missed a couple of notes..but what is more important is that she sang with a passion that made those missed notes forgettable. All i could focus on was her face, the emotion, and the overall feel for the song. I watched the entire season, regrettably and i can say that to me, this was one of the top4-5 performances of the season. If all of the singers could approach every song with this commitment then we would rarely be disappointed.
