I hate it when people call artists/producers "god" or "a genius". Nearly every decent tune on Youtube, I see a comment calling the producer a god. I'm not into dj or artist worship. I'm not into brownnosing. It makes some artists uncomfortable, in fact. They can't connect with average people anymore because idiots sit there suckin cock as soon as they release something half decent. This is, of course, an amazing track... but Marc Royal is simply a talented, hard working guy.
Its just like adverts for the new "this" or "that", or a trailer to a new movie... "BEST EVER" "you've NEVER seen ANYTHING like it". But yea, obsessive behaviors bound to weird people out. Its obviously something you gotta expect though, and just deal with it. Whether your famous in a niche like Jungle/DnB etc, or your a world famous sensation, theres ALWAYS gonna be the "worship" crowd. "Keep your nose away from my FUCKING arse mate!"
I heard his Shy FX style shit first, so until now I thought he was a pretty boring/standard junglist, but the first few minutes of this, up until the "rinse out" are incredible. I've got a few OLD T-Power plates as part of a box of oldskool jungle my dads mate gave me back in the day. Full of GLR, Metalheadz, Moving Shadow, some pretty rare shit too. Not played any of the T-power even tho I've had em for years. Now, its time.
Not my favourite cut from this album, but fuck me - if this isn't a prime example of an ambitious, perfectionist producer then I don't know what is. Serious, serious, SERIOUS sequencing skills. I don't think I've heard another D&B producer chop the "Amen" or "Think About It" breaks better than T-Power - and it takes a lot to make those sound fresh...
pure brilliance this tune will shine on forever not many people know of it, put this tune with a seriously loud system in a field with a warm sunrise. you dont even need the field or the sunrise the tune does it all.
Probably the most dramatic and my most favourite section of this brilliant piece of work. You know mark royal put so much work into this album [and a whole load of chemicals too] and it shows. Like most of his work throughout the mid 90's, its laced with sci-fi samples and social commentary.
