There's a Neo Geo game where you just wager on horse races .But you don't get to control the horses, you just watch them race. I believe it was on for the Neo Geo MVS arcade cabs made for gambling , and real money is paid out if you win.

This looks like one of the funner Atari games.

Well, the truth is that he isn't reading anything and he does sort of just talk like a robot. The initial response to criticism over youtube is rage. The ironic thing is that Mark is pretty chill and as a director, actually encourages constructive criticism and would rather have people be honest if they have suggestions. Atari 2600 was in fact so insanely popular (30 Mio units sold), that Atari singlehandedly caused a videogame crash of 1983, by printing, among many good games, a larger quantity of awful games than could be ever sold. This caused a market collapse, which took a number of unrelated companies and systems with it, including Vectrex.

To be frank, while i personally admire Vectrex for bringing the excitement of 3D graphics to home and automobile, there is simply no reliable market data to suggest that it could hold its own. With a piece so different, you never know whether people would actually buy it, and it never got a fair chance to prove itself.

Lots of people learned from this mistake as well as the mistakes Sega made in the decades to come up.

The powers that be de-valued their console by letting every loony with a debugger kit make a game for the system. The Warner "elite" felt quantity trumped quality and let a whole bucket-load of schlock fill the shelves. Sadly, the power of the console was limited and people were growing tired of the same-old-same-old too.

As for Sega, they learned their lesson on the Dreamcast, but sadly Sony's hype machine couldn't be overcome. That plus the history of Sega abandoning consoles left & right.
