hey it even has the same red buton to put it in reverse!!!!the same one found on the big reds!!!!!ha ha ha ha get with the times.... even the 680 what a waste of parts. but it is a honda "their reliable" they should be they hav'nt change much since the early 80's... dont forget about the drum breaks.. man they make me laugh.09 BRUTE FORCE BABY TEAM GREEN!!!!!!!!!!!!
@tscsmc So, you like the Kawasaki belt drive as opposed to Honda's shaft driven system? I sure hope you don't plan on getting it too wet. Wet belts slip like a bannana peel on greased ice. After about a year that belt drive will squeel so much every deer in the county will know you're in town. That's no joke. Witnessed 1st hand. I guess you know by now. Both my father and brother in law have the Kaw 650/750 and wish they would have bought a Honda. Honda doesn't need to change what ain't broke.
@GLOCKCOPG23 i got a honda too, but all utility wheelers have a shave drive, but the trannys are different, hondas tranny has gears while others use belts, some belt systems are better than others too
does it have a differential lock in the front or does it come as an option. that is the only way ill buy one im looking to buy a new one but if honda cant offer what i want then ill go arctic cat or polaris suzuki or can am they all have front diff lockers
@jeremysirocz it has that shitty traxlot "auto" locking torque sensing front diff, not good for mudding or rock crawling, for the regular joe it would do just fine tho :)
Have mine a month now, happy enough with it, mines a manual gear sel.TRXFM , a little notchy gear change when cold, hard to get it back to N at the start but works ok after a while.
Caution: camo finish and pressure washer, not a good combination. give it year or so and the camo starts comin off if you repeatedly spray mud off like at a carwash. looks great when new and clean but not the most durable finish.
Looks good now, but if those rims get dented, and begin to rust, that nice look, isn't so nice then. Honda rims are difficult to keep from denting on rocks, I have rode them over 15yrs. They ought to come up with a better rim,and tire design to prevent such dents. I really dislike denting the rims.I do not like most aftermarket rims, ITP,etc..
Yes! I wish I could keep my rims from getting knocked all to hell at the Rockhouse @ Hatfield McCoy trails in WV. 2 years ago, I even popped a bead on those rims at HMT.
i like it a lot. i havent added anything to it, and it will get me through mud that the bigger grizzlies and stuff get stuck in. has got me everywhere i wanted to go, its an amazing machine
This doesn't suprise me, Just my luck I bought my Rancher in 07 and 3 months later they changed the warranty from 6 month to 1 year and I felt left out and now AT and IRS. The good part is I have a Honda, could be worse and I would be stuck with a 07 Polaris that I would still be paying for!
I know it the honda has only broke 1 time since 07. The Polaris breaks all the time, but I got a deal on it and I've had a lot of fun with it. The last time I rode it the front wheel fell off. Before that the cooling fan burned up and the radiator spung a leak. Its a 00 Magnum 500 4X4. I haven't started it in 5 months, the tires have went flat... I might get it out this weekend and put the wheel back on and try to ride it....
About a month after I got my 07 420 rancher it seems sluggish, and I saw black smoke when it would idle. I took it to the local shop, they ran it on the test track and it did fine, until they brought it back and let it idle. Needed new head, seemed some dumbass at the factory did not put the retainer clips on the piston head pin. They said it was the first they had seen like that and said it should not even be running at all.
I wouldn't bother getting this. It's a fantastic quad, yea. But the independent suspension and automatic with ESP jacks the price up to 7,000. For that price, You might as well throw in another 500 dollars and get the 680 Rincon. It has independent suspension, fuel injection, water cooling, and 680 CCs more than the rancher. Don't get me wrong, the rancher is a great machine, but looking at the price, I would just get a Rincon.
This quad is indestructable
