  • CLASSIC!!

  • it seems like Off the Wall by MJ!!

  • @Richilom1 Thats because Rod Temperton (the whit guy on piano) wrote this sone, he left the group to write and produce more music. He was select by Quincy Jones to work on Off the Wall

  • @datmdguy84 Great :)

  • excellent music. I am thinking some of the critics have no historical perspective. so obvious how this music has forged future music...

  • lmfao

  • Do these guys look creepy or what? I remember this song and I use to dance to it. Looking at this video today and the way these guys dress, dance and perform? It's downright creepy!

  • @pkwfireteacher superheroes cokestumes hahahaha

  • This is now right now lol.

  • dobre gówno ! pozdro from pegsi

  • So far ahead of the competition! I was in like 7th or 8th grade. Boogie Nights and Grooveline? OMG! The lead singer was crippled in a car crash while they were on top. He was the heartbeat of the band. RT on keyboards went on to sell Billions. Heatwave UNSUNG is one of the most incredible storys ever told. And nobody even knows. It is a MUST SEE!

  • @dmobile2go I agree with you, I just watched UNSUNG n it was very moving, so inspiring.Watching Johnny Taylor push himself to make that comeback for that one song.I cried because people always complain about the little things in life, but when u see someone in that condition work so hard to push himself, it just makes you appreciate life n what you have.Heatwave is and was a very amazing band.Music today will never be like the heavenly sounds of yesterday.Simply timeless masterpieces

  • 2:05-2:25 really gets me, every time.

  • @ 1.33 the lead singer with the head dress looks sooooo gay.

  • @1987Riva What an overused and pointless phrase in your comment.

  • Great dance song for clubs. Real club dancing. We need the 70's music back here in the 2010's.

  • Rod Temperton a nation salutes you

  • this old school shit be thumpin i always loved thi song

  • Jamie Foxx was in Heatwave??? Ha!

  • @walk4trot2canter3 That's funny. It do look like one of Jamie's characters, but Jamie probably wasn't born or wasn't walking yet if he wss

  • @amberola1b

ROFLLMAO.... Either that or they're making sure the Drummer gets a good whiff.

  • WOW...

  • louie anderson at 2:43

  • what pixel is them?

  • good music

  • Oh yeah, get up and move something. If you are not check your pulse. If you were moving something then sound off........moving in NC.

  • This funny to me. This is dated the year I graduated high school. Me and the other white guys I grew up with would joke around when so many songs of those days

( disco and all that ) would come on the stereo. But never when the dj played anything by these guys. The stereo volume went WAY up - as high as it would go, and everybody would shut the F up and LISTEN.

  • Got any coke?

  • @yopeac hahahaha why the superheroes costumes???

  • I wish that men would go back to wearing turbans again like in this video.

  • Did a lot of dancing to Heatwave back in the early eighties at Kearney State College.

  • got to keep on dancing:)

  • only 1 idiot! xD

  • eye toy has taste ^____^

  • White guys in black guys costumes,...i'm dyin',....HA HA HA!!

  • hahahahaha so funny!

  • cornie niggaz!

  • This song is just AWESOME. But this video is a TOTAL disaster!!!! I love it!!

  • ANOTHER GREAT SONG BY THIS BAND.

  • 1 person does not know how to boogie.

  • @Dreiyaz He must be from Albania.

  • It's impossible to really understand that era without being from it.It all looks so alien to Gen X'ers

  • @BrutusMcCrunch Not really. Some of us Generation X'ers and y's and even Z's appreciate and can jam to good music no matter what era its from

  • Most funk ever contained in a single song.

  • Heatwave Boogie Nights another dancing song!!! Great hit. Boogie Nights will go down as one of the best in my book!!!

  • Pure 70's! Awesome!

  • Love the dance moves and the outfits too!

  • Bonnaroo!

  • sounds like off the wall.

  • It sounds like "Off The Wall" because it was written by the same bloke, Rod Temperton. He's the white dude on Rhodes. He also wrote Thriller and tons of other tunes.

  • THE LEGEND FROM CLEETHROPE THAT IS ROD TEMPERTON.

  • <3 DISCO!

  • Great costumes ...Ha !

  • muy buena cancion, el inicio es de otro mundo, aunque me da risa que parecen vestidos como los power rangers jaja

  • LO MAXIMO!! VIVA LA MUSICA DISCO POR SIEMPRE!!!

  • my god i had such a good time in the 70s i wish i could go back i am homesick for the 70s fuck the internet and technology advances!

  • Close eyes, listen, get down!

  • boy we could dress back then lol

  • @DABELAIN2 hahaha...made me laugh...lol

  • I love that bit when the guy with the really low voice (and therefore preumably a massive nutsack) goes "got to keep on dancing"

  • @JJmacd ME TOO! (high five)

  • Rod Temperton on the Piano - (co) writer of "Rock with You" "Thriller" "Always and Forever" "Stomp" and the list goes on and on and on...

That dude could wear a tutu and still be cool!!!

  • Comment removed

  • so they started out in England. I didn't know that. I guess that explains the Orange amps.

  • love this song i use to jam to this back days

  • i wonder if they can dance like that today XD

  • Used to go to the disco and listened to this great stuff. It took allot of hard work to put something like this together compared to the crap they play today!

  • @ballhairification I think they look cool! :) Song absolutely rocks.

  • I was seven years old in 1977, and i still love this song,, im now 41, and cant get over the music of that era, those dudes had a lot of energy and originality

  • this epitomised the best of the 70s

  • A lot of white guys for a Funk band

  • Comment removed

  • I have a feeling...that one of them is gay.

  • @AcutePorphyria ... the one with the turban, perhaps? Just a guess...not that there's anything wrong with that.

  • Rod Temperton, a real genius

  • @astrocarlo

    thank you :)

  • eric johns was one of the guitarists in this band & I Worked with him here in new zealand in the early 90's with a band called Le Club At Vibrations Nite Club What A Guy & Great Memories

  • Great music! Maybe that's why I was so skinny back then. Burned alot of calories at the disco!

  • So this is what happened to the Steelers cheerleaders....not on cue, but good song.

  • gotta give it up to the white guys.they owned the funk on this 1.drums and keyboard.who were they?

  • Too true Pakash8. AWB brought it hard. Cut the cake. A love of your own. Person to Person. All good. I took my 16 year old son to a Sinbad concert last night for his birthday and they played an AWB cut before the show started. He asked me who they were, He said, "Dad, they can sing!" If he had heard Heatwave in their prime when Johnnie was really blowing, he would have flipped.

  • Those people actually could dance back then..today it's more a fuck-fest....

  • yea this is my s@#$%!!!! love this song!!

  • Great song! VERY VERY catchy! But um... whats with the black and gold outfits? LAME! (covered by cough)

  • They may have passed on I wanna rock with you, but it wasn't their groove, just as Always and forever wasn't MJ's. It all worked out. The thing is, who would thing that Rod Temperton, who looks so corny, could have all those great songs in him.

  • @Terryman1960 ... Hey Terry, all I can say is Average White Band !!!!!

  • Orange Amps!

  • Their arm movements are a bit funny! LOL!

  • yes Rod is English, not American.

  • No one thinks here that MJ sampled this for "Off The Wall"?

  • @MizzNae126 It does sound like it now that you mention it.

  • @MizzNae126 the guy playing the keyboard is rod temperton, and he wrote most of heatwave's songs. he went on to write hits for many other r n b artists including michael. i don't know if he wrote off the wall, but he did write rock with you and thriller for michael. he offered rock with you to heatwave first, but they turned it down.

  • @uabhoney I know it's Rod, but don't you think he coulda varied it a bit more? lol.

  • @MizzNae126 well u know singers get accused of having songs that sound a like, and it's usually b/c they used the same producer. so yeah he could have varied it. lol.

  • @MizzNae126 Rod Temperton did write the tune "Off The Wall" as well, so I guess he did steal from himself :)

  • @jmillzz2

    little do they know...

  • Wow!..look at the energy of the lead singers.....i'm getting tired just looking at them!

  • @grizzlyfan41 Hard training in US Army!

  • Im going to see them in San Jose and im only 18 love the oldies! this is music! no doubt

  • Strange...you think that this would have more views (like at least 1,000,000)... O_o

  • CLASSIC gotta give props where props r due Rod Temperton is da man....

  • I bet that keyboard player got a lot of tail.

  • ,,no probably the 2 out front fanning their farts away.

  • Now why does the white man have to be given all the credit? We all know that without black people, music has no flavor.

  • Rod might have been a musical genius, but he doesn't pull off that outfit

  • @BenOz22 lol...seriously...lol!

  • @BenOz22 Amazing Genius in the Musical Arts....yet a horribly inept costume designer.....He's like Lady Gaga in reverse!!!

  • @BenOz22 If today's artists could play like that, they could wear those outfits all day long as far as I'm concerned.

  • @BenOz22 If today's artists could play like that, they could wear those outfits all day long as far as I'm concerned.

  • So this means that desegregation has actually gone backwards since the 70s?? Anyone care to name a mixed group since Heatwave

  • man this is why it is hard to say who you favorite group was from this area because it was so much talent and competition. if u was a peforming coming out in this era man you better had bring it! these groups now would get there asses burnt if they went against a band like the one u are seeing here! and this is coming from someone who was born 1980!!!

  • i love disco music the lighted dance floors wish they would bring it back the greatest muisic there was
