The passage I was refering to is found in the writings of Enoch in which God explains why men are to marry. I can understand why u would believe that God's love is conditional, if u accept the popular teaching of an eternally existing hell where lost sinner live forever in torment. However, that's not what the Bible teaches. John 3:16 and many other texts show that the lost will "perish" or be destroyed or annihilated. The final destruction of the wicked is in itself an act of love in that it is merciful to destroy those who would be miserable in a holy universe. God is love. He hates, not sinners.

@guitmarti Actually that is my mistake for not making clear as to what scripture is. I sometimes forget who I'm corresponding with. The bible does not include all of scripture. The passage I was refering to is found in the writings of Enoch in which God explains why men are to marry. We are told that men and women marry because they are not eternal beings where as the angels are. Regarding Ez. You must understand that scripture speaks of 3 kinds of death. Physical, spiritual, and eternal death.

So it is describing something like it. Other passages also speak of our enemies being under our feet but do not describe them as ashes. So you ccannot cherry pick passages. You must look at all passages in scripture that speak of the punishment of the damned. And it is than clear that annhililism is a lie.

I used to think His love was unconditional also...
But Scripture is replete with other examples contrary. He has a benevolent love for the world that He sent His Son to die for them and that they might see His goodness and repent and trust in Him.
..but,
I've found the better description is that God's love not "unconditional"--but "undeserved." We all deserve wrath, we can obtain grace(undeserved). Does that work?

But unmerrited still does not mean that many will be denied His love. for some can recieve unmerrited or undeserved love while others will not. Nothing in scripture says His unmerrited love will be given to all. Scripture, in fact, is clear that everyone will NOT recieve His love. Many will be condemned, even those who confess Christ as Lord.

God only gives gifts to His children, and only listens to the prayers of His children or repentant prayers from sinners(John 9:31, Psalm 51:17)... so I don't see what James 1:17 has to do with your assertion.
I want all to be saved, I just think the word "unconditional" with God's love is wrong--it's a new term that I've read, and "undeserved/unmerited" is more biblical. That is grace, "unconditional" often leads people to think they're saved IN their sins, "undeserved" doesn't.
