Unless there's been some sort of injury that I'm unaware of? I have not a clue as to why Godolphin haven't raced Mastery again since he was a ton the best horse in winning this race? I thought they might perhaps race him in Dubai again, this time in the Sheema Classic? But it ended up being Rewilding as their #1 in that race. Maybe we'll see Mastery in the 2012 Sheema Classic? Because he's a cracking good horse that almost never run's a bad race, IMO.
@SCOTTinHd1, I just recently sent a message to Godolphin's guestbook asking about Mastery's status, and they sent me back a message saying that he had been retired, and is now standing at Darley. I don't know why? Still pretty lightly raced for his age, and I don't think he's ever run a bad race in his career. On turf or synthetics? Would've liked to have seen him back in Dubai one more time, but to try the Sheema Classic instead of the Dubai World Cup. He's better at 12f than 10f, IMO.
@jhordanian, Mastery's always been a very versatile horse on both turf and synthetics. I thought he was actually the best horse in the race at Santa Anita in that 09' B.C. Marathon. Dettori just didn't get his best effort out of Mastery on that day. But prior to going to Sha Tin for this race, Mastery won the Floodlit Stakes over 12f at Kempton in the UK on their all-weather racetrack. That set Mastery up perfectly for this win in the Hong Kong Vase, IMO.

Mastery ran a credible 3rd in the 09' Breeder's Cup Marathon on Santa Anita's Pro-Ride.
