BSL solves nothing. Bad owners and dog fighters would fight poodles if there were no other dogs. It target the issue, not the dog. Either that or the US will simply ran out of dogs. BSL must be stopped. I feel sorry for all the AMERCIAN Pitbull Terriers that are being killed without having commited a crime in their own country. @00wyk in some states the bls has banned pits on military basses when they used to work for them and of coarse any breed that looks like a pit is hit with this as well i mean watch 'pit boss' one of the dogs they resuce is a young female, she is in a family that lives in a military installation and she is not s put just looks like one and they were threatened to get rid of it or they would which would include euthanasia and the father was just about to go to Iraq save the pit ban bsl

i had a dog but bsl took him away...he was a boxer/lab/pit(50% boxer,49% lab and 1% pit) but they still took him away. he pass obedience class was going on to be a therapy dog but the took him and killed him...

There should never be a ban on certain breeds of dogs. What I recommend to people is: Please don't breed dogs to be aggressive. Don't breed dogs to have severe health problems either like too set back nose and too long back. That is cruel. Choose the parent animals carefully for health and friendliness. Please don't chain your dogs. Please spend time with your dogs and pet them a lot.

chow chows are more likely yo turn of a person faster then a PITBULL. i love pits but thats just me and i hate that they have to been ban in areas my friend as a pit mix(rebel)and he is the most sweetest dog i have ever met and he will give paw too and he is just a big old baby (his about 7years old in human years) so his an old man but so super duper sweet punish the deed not the breed say no to SB816

For ryanshecklerishott: Yes, that is true. Chows are much more aggressive than Pit Bullterriers. There should not be a ban. What needs to change is the behavior of people who let their dogs fight and who are cruel to them. Governmental grants or funds should go into social worker programs. Dysfunctional people who have Pit Bulls on chains in their yards need help and counseling. Human crime is the root of the problems. Social workers must help those people.

OHIO Owners beware. HB 568. The bill requires all owners to surrender their "pit bulls" within 90 days of the effective date of the proposed law. The bill is unequivocal that the dog warden "shall" euthanize all pit bulls within 10 days of their surrender.

I have two rottwielers. The 11 year old (Rasta) sleeps all day unless you want to play with her. And my 1 year old (Torak) is crazy, she never stops jumping around. But she has never hurt anybody except for the first time we got her. (We were playing and she bit my thumb...ONCE)Neither of them has ever hut eachother or any other dogs they have met.

My friend has three dogs; two Pittbulls, Jodi and Lily, and a Yorkshire Terrier, Obie. Jodi is a total big softy, Lily is a bounding ball of fun, Obie is rather moody and snaps. So, why is it that the two Pitt's are kinder than the Yorkie? Coz BSL is a load of crap! Jodi is even good with my cats; once when she was at my house, she saw the cats for the very first time, and she did nothing, didn't even attempt to chase them, just stayed by her owners side. Both of the Pitts are sweethearts.

Here in west palm beach the pit bull is specifically marked as illegal-- and the sadder part is this-- the bad people who raise aggressive dogs still have them, whereas the folks who would raise good dogs comply for fear of heartbreak---

I would only say this ,grow a brain and think for yourself pro bsl supporters! Vets can't identify an adba bulldog any better than anyone else, especially if their not breeders themselves. OOwyk - There are many non Pitbull breeds that kill and mame other dogs every day. Its sad you just dont have a clue. My next door neighbor dog mamed their other dog and the morans put the injured dog to sleep because they thought it would happen again and they were too cheap to pay vet bill. the dogs just needed exercise.

Perhaps you should study BSL... it doesn't only target "Pit Bulls". There are several breeds on these lists through out the world, and your breed of choice may very well be one. I'm not against BSL because it targets my American Pit Bull Terrier. I don't know about the UK but over here there is no recognized breed called the pitbull. And it is witnesses that tell what type of dog that attacked any one. The vet's have nothing to do with it.

Actually they scored even higher than that on the temperament test. They scored a 84.1% while the Golden Retriever scored a 83.8%. There monsters though because people say they are. Sad situation not just for them but also for Rots, Shepherds and Dobermans along with other dogs at risk with BSL (Bull Shit Legislation)

Of course a pit bull has more attacks, that's because there is no pit bull breed. Pit bull is a term for a certain way a dog looks. That term has at least 3 differant breeds plus mixes. Then there's the fact that over 20 diff breeds of dogs are commonly mistaken for pits. Hell many lab mixes are mistaken for pit bulls. BSL solves nothing, it just destroys the lives of beloved family pets, who have done nothing.
