1- He didn't "save' the company... he leveraged a governemtn bailout. he repaid the favor by creating the K-Car.

2-He's not a brilliant leader... he's a paranoid schizo with some basic business sense. He became convinced that his friend Henry Ford was "out to get him". Read his autobiography.

if he didnt save the company, then why did chrysler survive back then... and he was a brilliant leader... i would like to see you try and do something like him... he designed the ford mustang, made ford very profitable, he saved chrysler, and currently, he has founded a diabetes research foundation. quite simpily, he is one of the greatest americans to ever live. so give him some credit man.

this guy should have never left....the company would not have any trouble today... and the lebaron would still be here. daimler ruined the company and ran away. i remember this commercial when it was one tv. there will never be another guy like this...
