hi ive seen some of your other video's and the first few i thought wow where does the rest of the track go and then i seen this video and its meg brill you got a nice selection of engines you have given me extra push to get on with a layout in the loft ,and yes fitting a dcc chip in a ltttle engine can be a little fiddly i did a small diesel ,well done anyway and good on the next phase, glyn
@InterCity82 hi yes i will be it will be a while mind no board up yet should have by end of month ,i had a layout in my old house was quite big like you i had trains when was younger i got my intrest when i ben and seen my next door nayhbours layout it was in the loft and was very big i was just instantley hooked and been in to trains for quite a while but cars hasn't help but ive had my fill of cars so back on trains again
@Liverpoolfcfever - Electrofrog means there's no plastic in any part of the point system - instead it's all metal for good conductivity - but they have to be wired up right to prevent short circuiting. Peco make lots of streamlined points, where as Hornby only do a couple of 'express points' which are similar but not the same.
@Liverpoolfcfever - you mean 'does'? Streamlined points are gentle points. They're smoother and more realisitc. The loco or train or coach doesn't have to turn as much.
Do you ever tread on your trains?! Seriously dude, make some base boards, and your train running sessions will be 100% better, also you'll be able to view them at eye level.Cool! Oh yes! and building scenery is great fun too!
@blaster2012 - this is just a temporary layout. The proper layout will be 3 to 4 times the size and on 3 levels, using basebaords where required. Scenery and buildings, not to mention lighting and automatic point/signal control will also feature on the proper layout.
@InterCity82 Three to four times the size? Really? Thats great! I wish i had that much space. If your building a huge railway, you should check this out on YouTube called "McKinley railway Bigger and Bolder" it's amazing,a huge model railway, he can run his trains by computer, manually or both.He does what you want to do: automatic point/signal control via a computer running XP. Go check it out, and tell me what you think!
ive had peco points on my garage layout for 20 years , gets dusty in the summer and cold and damp in the winter, yet never a single problem !! highly reccomended, good vids by the way , cheers.
wow, you've put alot of work into this, and the 0-4-0ST DCC FITTED?! O_O how the..... doesnt matter, we gotta see that in steam, or electric at some point, and getting this lot into ur room? god help you X_X
@trainlover658 - lol, yup! a 'pocket rocket' 0-4-0 that's DCC chipped. Videos of fitting DCC chips to non-DCC-ready locos are coming up. haha yeah, moving it all upto the proper room will be....erm... fun!
@Class59Cameron - I have :) it's in a 'queue'. There is seriously a queue of videos waiting to be encoded and uploaded. It should go up this weekend hopefully.
wow i really like this but im looking at doing something much smaller but still the same as the dcc sidigs can you tell me more about the points that give you the really long sidings
@browndog388 - sure! I'll do a special on these streamlined points actually - a lot of people want to know more about them so I'll do a video on it to help people see the difference.
@jamco2 - the streamlined points are more realistic basically. It's like having dead tight curves on a layout or really gentle ones - the more gentle the curves and points are, the more realisitc it looks - and the easier it is on the locos and rolling stock. I'll do a video comparing the two.
@oliverj8 - thanks! no, the room it's moving into is more than twice the size you see - so it'll be much bigger and of a different design. I've got a video on its designs coming up!
@SaturdaysFan4Life - lol yes, that mini Henry Hoover has actually been really useful! He features in several upcoming vids! Oh yes, the special liveried Olympic Javelin - it's all white isn't it?

Where do you get your stramlined points from, and what type are they small, medium or large because peco offer such a wide range.
00GaugeRailways 7 months ago
@00GaugeRailways - I get them from a mixture of shops really. And they are large usually but sometimes I get small ones if space is limited.
