im 12 and i can play this up to speed tht john williams plays it about 1 min and 10 seconds which is really fast. it took me 2 months to learn good and its still sketchy but im proud of mself!

Performance practice in this period dictated that the player was free to embellish the melody as he saw fit. Rushed through. Repetitions are there for a reason. Second part repetition - the way it is played is like saying "I do not care" (about listener's emotion). A bit less show-off and more honesty - I know that that piece was beaten to death by hordes of guitarist - still it deserves more respect. If you do not feel it then do not play it - music is not mechanics.
