  • I've lived with two ACD's for two months. Started out as being a stranger but in the end they became the most loyal and friendly fourleggers ever.

    Great dogs!

  • This breed and gsd r the best

  • I think my dog is a pervert. I am going to register him as a sex offender at the local Sheriff's Office.

  • @Slumpnasty WTF?

  • I agree with this. My dog is very protective of me.

  • Great video. My ACD is 14 now and it will be time to say goodbye soon, it will be extremely hard to deal with. He is my 1st ACD but I am sold on the breed, you will not find a more loyal, smart, funny, devoted dog out there. And I have owned many breeds. If I ever have another dog it will be an ACD. However be warned this is NOT A DOG you get and just leave OUT IN THE YARD. Please people, if you can't have your ACD with its family all day and all night, do not get one! This is NOT a "yard dog"!

  • If an ACD gets 3 bones for toughness, i wonder what kinda dog gets 4..

  • I love my cattle dog so much! She's red, white, and black. This video is pretty dumb though, they should get the highest marks for toughness (they take on animals 8 or more times their size) and the highest for train ability, they'll do anything you tell them to and I'm just a teenager and I trained my cattle dog to sit, stay, down, and jump in one day and it's stuck with her for an entire year so far. There's nothing these dogs aren't capable of.... but they will bite the crap out of you lol.

  • Is this the narrorator for disney channel?

  • I wish i had a yard big enough to own a dog like this :(

  • @Malachi01 the yard size doesn't really matter, it's just the amount of exercise you can give them everyday(:

  • this channel has bad rankings. They change the criterias a lot. I have a red heeler: 5 stars for toughness, 5 for trainability and 5 for affection. Best dog ever.

  • 3 bones fer toughness? more like 5! my ACD has been hit by a car, and now has 3 legs, but She will take on anything! Dogs of all breed try and fite her wither their big or small shell fite! There not little lap dogs! Trust me! They will fite an elephant to protect their owner!

  • Wonderful breed, and healthy as well!

  • One of my friends has an ACD. Not only does it try to herd the horses that he has but he also tries to herd the two cats that live inside the house. The cats have learned that the dog can't climb and spend a lot of time in higher places that she can't reach. It's pretty funny to watch.

  • my dingo dog is 4, while he was a very naughty puppy, hes such a good dog! if i had kids i'd be worried about it (he plays rough!) but for adults he's great. super loyal and very, very smart. however, these dogs are VERY high energy, they need a job to do. i reccomend raquetballs, he'll pounce on it and let it get away from him for hours, we live in chicago and when he can't get outside to run around in the winter this will keep him occupied

  • I have an ACD girl, shes just over four months now.Very responsive, brave and loyal. So far I have had ZERO problems with her, however, I also spend a lot of time with her. Amazing dog!

Quick question for you Heeler specialists out there. I adopted the puppie from a couple who were unable to care for her.I was told she is pure breed. Initially she had all her colors (meaning blue) However now she has lost most of it to black, with white hairs here and there. Is this normal, or is she a mix?

  • @javor86 Difficult to tell with out a photo, but it doesn't sound like a problem.

  • @javor86 how old is she? i know the blues get darker with age.

  • @JustDogs1 She's 7 months.

  • Australian Cattle Dogs are tough, intelligent and loyal. I don't agree with the low score they were given in that clip for trainability and toughness. These dogs are endurance performers and they're incredibly intelligent, enthusiastic and easily trainable. They're so smart they're scary. I love 'em.

  • I have a cattle dog/pitbull mix. She looks more like a pitbull and has the gentle temperament of one, but has the herding instincts/stamina/intelligence of a cattle dog. Personally, I'm not a fan of the cattle dogs due to the snappy temperament they have with people, but my dog is an exception <3

  • why only 3 bones for toughness? These dogs are the definition of toughness. As for trainability they can be stubborn because they are so smart so maybe I can see only 3 bones. These dogs are amazing!

  • aaaah, I fell in love. Fantastic dog.

  • They should have bumped it up to 4 for toughness.

  • look like amazing dogs

  • One of the BEST dogs out there. They're amazing. Super obedient, Very loyal. Easily Trained.

    I love my dog, He's the BEST :D:D I love him<3

  • @AngelinaMarie59 really? is it truethat they bite a lot?

  • @caitlinborley Mine doesn't bite. He's very good, When he gets playful and stuff and you run away he'll nip a little at your heels but nothing bad.

@Scribbles446 They're awesome dogs, I'm sure it varies with each dog but mine isn't nippy that much. I'm sure if you got one as a puppy you could train it not to nip at all. My dog does great with people, he loves them. :)

@blackNsilver087 I wanted a Siberian Husky too but then I got this dog and I don't think I'll ever like another breed better(:

  • @AngelinaMarie59 im interested in getting one, did you every have a problem with the dog nipping? and how are they around people they have never met?

  • @AngelinaMarie59 they live the longest aswell

  • @blackadder1996 Yeah, I heard that too. I'm glad.

  • One of the best dogs i have ever had. The key is setting boundaries. As with any breed you have to be clear on what is acceptable and what is not. JMO..... Mine is almost ten years old now and quite a blessing.

  • i have a queensland heeler, best dog ever!

  • Contrary to popular parroted beliefs, it is highly unlikely that Dalmation was ever introduced into the ACD. Recent research by Schaible demonstrated that the Dalmation gene is non existent. Dalmation is ff TT and the ACD and ASTCD is FF TT. If Dalmation was ever used it is long gone from the true breed standard.

  • I have this dog! It literally barks at EVERYTHING. Birds/squirrels outside, people walking by the house, people jogging by the house, people walking outside when we are in the car driving, and especially other dogs. Oh and she tries to jump in the path of oncoming cars when I walk her.. so I usually try to walk her at night for a long time when not too many people are out.

  • I have an ACD (red) X Kelpie (another australian working dog).

    Everything about him is incredible:

    Incredibly loyal

    Incredibly affectionate

    Incredibly demanding.

He loves nothing more then jumping up onto our laps and rolling onto his back for tummy rubs but if you dont do it long enough or to his liking he'll stand up and stomp his feet barking then do the cute thing again lol

  • OK, so here's my dilemma right now. I'm pretty good with dogs and have a couple acres of pure rural land, along with UNLIMITED amounts of love, attention, and time to focus on training and nurturing one. But I also have limited mobility in my legs because of a joint disorder. I can still provide lots of exercise via fetching (frisbee, ball, etc.) and there's lots of land to wander at my place, but I'm unable to personally WALK a dog. Would an ACD be too much for me to handle?

  • @RationalDischarge Well ACD's love to fetch but they also love to nip ur feet and even ram ur legs from behind. My mother had her hamstring torn when our ACD rammed her from behind and knocked her over. In saying that they are not aggressive towards people, thy just have a strong herding ability.

  • I don't have an ACD but I watched one try to help me get an unhappy 1550 lb. draft horse in a trailer. I know it is subjective but I'd like to know what dog would rate a 4 for toughness. I have seen ACD's dogs work numerous times, and never seen an ounce of fear or quit in any one of them.

  • I have a red healer cross blue healer so she is half red and half blue and the best dog you could ever have. She is completely trained and always listens to your commands. Recommend this dog to anyone who wants a real working dog and a loyal friend. :)

  • adorei este video

  • Nice video. We have 4 cattle dogs. Great against packs of coyotes.

  • What happens when an 160 lb Mastiff and a 35 lb ACD get together? You get my dog: an 80 lb muscular, intelligent, fearless, and relentless machine. He is a handful but I love him to death :)

  • Best dog I have ever had. He's smart and learns in minutes. He's also totally deaf but that never seems to bother him at bit.

  • these are an amazing breed of dogs! i have four right now and 2 are deaf, 1 is red and i even have 1 of the rare chocolate cattle dogs. i have had next to no issues with this breed execpt the biting. and only 3 bones on trainablitiy?? i do agility with one of my blue heeler and she completely, 100% deaf...and if you say her perform, you would even know. but they are kidding when they say that they pack a bite...train and socialize early!!!!

  • i love Cattle Dogs!!!! i happen to have 4, 2 deaf blue, 1 red and 1 chocolate (which is extremely rare)

they are amazing dogs but trust me, the arent kidding when they say that they can and will bite....

  • please is there anyone out there that has problems with there australian cattle dog having seizures any advice the vets not to convincing

  • This dog should be a fighting dog also. This dog would woop any dog no joke. I'm not bullshitin if a lil tyme wuz put into that.

  • @fireantone why would you want any dog to be a fighting dog? that's pretty sick.

  • @fireantone Shut up you moron. Take your ghetto bs somewhere else Michael Vick. Asshole!

  • i have an alaskan husky/australian cattle dog mix. he is a blondish color and has green eyes. He is awesome!

  • These dogs (not every single one) will bite your heels, hence there very common australian nickname "blue heeler" i have seen these dogs do this, its mainly when your playing a game, running around or on a bike or skateboard. they also have a reputation for appearing friendly to intruders, but once youve entered there yard the dog will hold you up in a corner or chase you off nipping at your heels. They are very loyal, intelligent, hard working dogs.

  • @punkratter haha true when I take my dog to bike rides she always bite my heels

  • and only 9 months old. that rating was absolute crap. nice job yank

  • i have a red australian stumpy tailed cattle dog, and he is by far the best dog. all they need is love, discipline, and exercise and he will do anything for me. he is very suspicious on anyone he doesnt know turning up at my house. ie growling barking and pacing around. if he had his way he would never let me out of his sight. he is a purebred tracing back 35 generations, perfectly formed tough as nails, i mean TOUGH he cant be hurt. unbeleivable bond between us. i could go on and on. best mate!

  • I have two of them... and I don't think I will ever want to own another breed after owning these two. They are just awesome... and mine do not live on a farm. Its what others say... they just need excerise and play, which you should do with any dog anyways =). They have very intense and intelligent personalities. Also, I have never had trouble with my heelers nipping me... except my female but she is always play barking when she does it and kinda goes after my feet. Its all about training.

  • My acd is wonderful, i love him! : )

  • These are just the best breed in my eyes

  • We have one of these in my fraternity, she is white with black spots and her name is Kudos...that dog just wants to play fetch all the time, you could throw her a piece of steak and she would just bring it back to you. I have seen her playing with/chewing on pool balls, empty Keystone light cans, crushed water bottles, and just about anything else you can imagine. What a sweet dog too, she walks through the halls and stops in everyone's room to say hi then moves on.

  • My ACD is awesome. She helps me with my cattle and she loves to play and swim. Keeps us busy, she is full of energy. Do not recommend this breed for city dwellers.

  • Blue heelers or nothing!

Never had a Blue Heeler biting anybody. WTH?

  • best dog's ever!

  • We had a little blue heeler for a while, he was such a sweetie. I miss him.

  • 1 tough breed. Mines 18 yrs old and just keeps going.

  • Does anyone know how to get a working line ACD if you live in the suburbs? I live in the suburbs and i might get an ACD in the future. But the thing is, i dont want those soft companion ones. I want a strong, hardy traveling dog.

  • @bluegama500 All ACDs are strong and hardy. But they also need affection. They are very loyal dogs and seek love from their person. All dogs' temperaments are different, some will be more or less "cuddly" than others, but they are companions. ACDs aim to please you. If you get an ACD from a responsible reputable source and train them well, they should be a good dog. Adopting one is always a good option.

  • @wakebreakers Ok. Because my uncle had an ACD(it died from a snake bite) and it was a very good dog. It ran around for hours. But i see these ACD's in the suburbs where i live and they are fat, ugly and they look "low quality". I just want to make sure i get a proper ACD.

  • @bluegama500 An ACD will get fat if they are overfed and don't get enough exercise everyday. There are no low quality dogs, just low quality owners. I would say even a mixed-breed that was half ACD would still be tough and energetic, probably. The ACD is very hardy, even if they are mostly a house dog.

  • @wakebreakers Oh ok. Then i guess i don't have to worry about it getting fat. I exercise my dogs just about day with my bike. Im not saying im going to get one. Just wondering if they are a good traveling pet. Might get one some day.

  • My 12 y/o ACD passed away a little over a week ago, and he was one of the most gentle, well behaved, intelligent and obedient dogs it has ever been my privilege to have had in my life. He was already into his later years and quite mellow when he found his home with us. Life hadn't given him the best of starts, but he was loved from the moment we met. He is dearly missed.

  • fantastic breed needs lots of excersise to be a good pet though

  • The narrator is so fucking annoying. He's that same jackass who always talks in Disney Channel. That way of talking isn't even natural.

  • @HeatLegs ahahahaa. sorry this just really made me lol soooo true

  • @HeatLegs ahahahaa. sorry this just really made me lol soooo true

  • Do purebreeds ever come in a black coat?

  • It's cute. lonrana

  • we've had an ACD for 8 years, we have never had a better more patience dog-ever. she is way to smart for her own good. she is wonderful with our daughter and has never nipped anything.

the key is lots and lots of training, if you are a good teacher, you will have a wonderful student. the only thing i would say, the shedding is crazy, thier is no way around it, but they dont have a dog smell or dog breath.

this is the only breed we will ever have.

  • A cattle dog is a courageous and tireless worker. I wan to have one because it is a a loving an playful family pet. I need to call my friend via 1800mumdad(AU) and tell her about this video.

  • Im considerning getting one of these but I only live in a 1000sq ft town house. I can give it exercise but maybe not as much as with hearding cattle. Any one know if in my situationd an ACD is a good idea?

  • @JS500Y

Uh... I don't think so. I live on five acres + large house, and that's not enough for mine.

  • @JS500Y they are great house dogs and as lond as you have a yard you rarely need to walk them :)

  • @JS500Y ACDs do make great pets and can do well as a house dog. But they need adequate exercise and activities. If you don't have a yard they would need to visit a dog park or a place to run regularly. They are not a dog that you can walk once a week and just let them do their own thing most of the time. Along with exercise they need a lot of affection. You could adopt an older ACD that wouldn't need quite as much space/exercise. Just don't let them get overweight.

  • @JS500Y I think you should go for it. ACDs don't need to herd livestock as long as you give them enough exercise although my 2 ACDs need a lot more exercise than my german shepherds and my lancashire heeler.

  • this is stupid i'm from australia and they dont just nip them on the noses for respect cows dont give a shit bout that. they are also ment to nip them on the back of the animals heels hence thats why there called blue heelers here in aus. also they dont use there colours for camo. but if anyone was looking for a cattle dog i would recommend one of these. but prepared for them to get a couple of kicks by the cattle, and maybe death if the kick was hard enough.

  • Yes, they are good dogs if you take the time to work with them. They can bark a lot, but they can be trained not to. They can be good guard dogs with the right training. They are pretty strong for their size. Just make sure you do enough research before getting an ACD and you have the time to invest in them. They need training so they don't become destructive and need companionship and exercise. They are only bad dogs if people mistreat them.

  • I have a jack russell cattle dog mix! I love him.

    look up: "Siris our Cattle dog/jack mix" on youtube :}

  • i have an ACD, im from the states. she is pure bred her parents are from australia, so i dont like the fact that people say most of the blue heelers in the states are mixed. NOT TRUE. & i do not show mine or live on a farm, she's strictly a house dog and loves her life. you can tell by the smile on her face.

  • Do not get one of these dogs, if you are not prepared to run it into the ground every day. They are little nuclear reactors.

  • 3 bones for toughness

    3 bones for train ability?

    lame.

  • I agree. They definitely deserve 4 for both those categories: they learn commands in five repetitions or fewer, and they aren't prone to illness or other problems dogs often get.

  • @portlandbands lol

yeah but u gotta think, there are tougher dogs out there , so they cant give it full marks

3 out of 4 is good still

u gotta leave the full marks for ur bull breeds though i would think

  • @portlandbands all fours if you ask me, cept for the courtesy one, mine does bite!

  • @portlandbands ours would be rated 5 bones for toughness if there was 5. 3 bones for trainability sounds right for us though. However we didn't have him right as a puppy. We got him at about a year and he had two previous owners that left us with A LOT of stuff to work on and correct. He is so amazing though. Such a wonder.

  • @portlandbands yeah, you watch it bite a cow on the face, what does it have to do for the extra point, kill the cow ?

  • @portlandbands ya I know they are some of the most intelligent dogs in the world; should be four bones for trainability.

  • @portlandbands ridiculous i agree. no dog is better with controling livestock. these dogs were bred for the harsh environment of the outback. i would say thats about as tough as it gets.

  • @portlandbands they don't have enough bones to rate ACD's trainability. My blue-heeler is highly intelligent and learns new things easily.

  • @portlandbands Yeah i was thinking more like 5/4 for trainablity.

  • @portlandbands lame... most lame person evar!

  • top 10 smartest dog. australian cattle dog is the 10th rank

  • Yeah, I've got one and it is the best dog i have ever had

  • indeed. I love them too.

  • GREAT DOG, two things new owners should know right away. These dogs are SMART, if you have a gate well mine learned how to open the latch, and they can clear a standard fence with one easy jump. They have too much Energy for a Standard yard these dogs need a farm with animals.. goats or sheep are good.. they will just herd them naturally.

    Mine also liked Mozart.

  • Mine's a huge fan of The Beatles.

  • Yea i had a 5 foot high gate mine was able to jump over it

  • They are probably one of the most intelligent dogs out there.

  • ther the 10 most smartist dog fact look it up

  • ACDs are very good dogs. I've had one for 14 years and never had issues with nipping or anything. They are loyal and protective and they are also sweet and affectionate. They are easy to train, you just have to work with them and show them a lot of love.

ACDs are good house dogs, you just need to exercise them and give them activities. Walk them, even if you have a yard, or they get fat and bored! ACDs can do a lot and need a variety of things to do, repetition bores them.

  • @wakebreakers

hey man im just wondering. im quite ignorant about blue heelers.

do they make good dogs? im thinking of getting one r they strong ?

    do they bark alot?

  • @GrungeRocker1000

No, they are truwe working dogs, and don't make very great pets... Mine doesn't. They are very very very strong, not big, but strong. IDK about barking. My dog is pretty quite, but barks when he's annoyed or frustrated.

  • @wakebreakers i love ACDs there so playfull there my favorite kind of dogs my red heeler puppy died though...I remember when he used to harass my jack rusell.when i used to walk him he tried to get in front of me so i had to be carefull not to step on him and i never did he was the best dog i ever had

  • @wakebreakers good house dogs? they are DEFINITELY NOT GOOD HOUSE DOGS!!! they need space and lots of it.

  • @vojn1k3 Uh, I meant they do fine living in a house. They're not strictly outdoor dogs and don't have to spend most of their time outside or anything. Many ACDs are raised as pets in homes. So long as you do take them out and get them enough exercise, this is fine. You definitely wouldn't want to keep them inside too much. They should have a yard to run in or take them to a dog park and always walk them.

  • There is part Dalmation in all ACd's. It was added to control the cattledogs from herding the horses as well as the cattle.

  • Comment removed

  • do they shed alot?

  • We have 2 blue heelers and they are insane!

  • @DerickM355

    Way to be a dick.

  • You obviously know nothing about blue' es!!!!

  • I had a awesome blue heeler when I was a kid, but one day he got bucked in the head by our neighboors horse (He was natrually trying to herd it) and he was never the same after so we hd to put him down. I still love that dog.

  • I was a little confused when they said "Australian Cattle Dogs" becasue we call these doge Blue Healers.

I think there's some other breed called Australian Shepards or something which actually have no connection to Australia but were named that way due to a mis-understanding (something to do with the ship they came in on).

Blue Healers can be seriously smart but the down side of that is that if you don't raise them right they can also be kind of nuts.

  • The Australian Shepard is a non exisitng Australian dog. It was breed in the US and have never ever even heard of them until I was in the US The Austalian Cattle dog can either be a red heeler or a blue heeler. But the breed is called the Australian Cattle dog I have found most Americans talk through their arse about the breed and most in the US are not pure breed either. But this video clip above does provide true facts about the origin I own the son of the Australian Champ 2 year in a row

  • @tangent272 . Australian Sheperds are an Australia working dog breed also!

  • @cheekywun Sorry tangent272 you wre right about the Australian Sheperd which is actually from the U.S.!

  • one problem there a mix of blue healers and red healers

  • They are either red or blue and tan. Red dogs can have black hairs, too many are a fault in the show ring. Blue dogs can have excessive tan, called 'creeping tan' which is also a show ring fault.

  • They are very, very easy to train if you use the right methods. Look up "Skidboot' if you doubt what these dogs can be taught.

  • Would I be correct in guessing that the deafness that occurs in the bread comes from the dalmatian portion of the animal?

  • No mate the deafness comes from the ears ahahahahhaa I just had to write you that one mate

  • Both Dalmatians and Cattle Dogs (and other breeds) carry the piebald gene which is linked to deafness. It's a myth that ACDs have Dalmatian blood.

  • You are Wrong! Dalmations are definitely in the background of these dogs. That is why the pups are born white with any black markings ( or red) and turn blue or red at about 4-5 weeks of age.

  • Just because they both have the piebald gene - which leads to them being born white - it doesn't mean that ACDs got the gene from the Dalmation.

There are many other breeds of dog that carry this gene including the ACDs ancestor the Northumberland Drovers Dog.

Deafness is associated with this gene.

  • yes thats the most likely origin of it

  • what if it bites you , what do you do to Make him See what he did and make him upset

I heard about Not giving him any attention or small ear slaps ( i dont like that one ) or screaming that ur upset with him

  • Simply and quietly give him something he can bite on. Carry a tug toy to distract him, let him carry something in his mouth.

Slapping or screaming will be ineffective and may be met with agression. Remember he is bred to fight back when challenged by something a lot bigger than you.

  • *Probably not problem. lol

  • I love Australian Cattle Dogs. Problem not the best choice for family with young children.

  • i've got a prolem, my whole family is out of the house from 8am till 4pm. any good suggestions?

  • dog daycare

  • man these dogs are solid and strong.ill tell you guys a real story?.their was a guy in the country who had 2 pitbulls that always roamed around the streets causing trouble, there was an old blue heeler who lived in the pub,the 2 dogs came and attacked it and the old blue heeler fought with them and sent them running home, true story,it was in the town of Nowa nowa

  • Cattle dogs frequently end up unwanted due to the amount of exercise they need. I have found it to be extremely difficult to tire out my cattle dog, an hour or so running and swimming each day just doesn't touch the sides for her. They are bred to work all day and like people they need a mission, to go to work each day. They are such smart and loyal dogs and I feel blessed to have one.

  • All cattledogs I've ever owned have been fiercely loyal and will not tolerate other dogs for fear of losing top spot with me. They are fearless.

With people I've found them to be good but as they get old they lose patience with children as long as they are disciplined this is usually just a snap to let them know "I didn't like that"

Give them plenty of your time and you'll have a clever and faithful friend.

  • oh and would these make a good companion odg?and are they energetic?is 1 hour walking everyday enouph to settle them down?

  • they forgot to mention the ACD has bull terrier in it which gives it that solid body and is why it is prone to deafness

  • terrier has been bread out of them.

  • yeeep

  • Cattle dogs are very smart but my advice to new owners is start young and socialize with other ppl and dogs. To often the dogs in my group had dog aggression issues.

  • Only problem with Heelers is this: A lot of people buy them without realising just how much they need to work.

My dad made that mistake, and his Motorbike seat got tore up because of the dog's lack of stimulation. They got rid of him

I believe he lived out his days on a beef farm, with real cows, not bikes.

  • i loved my cattle dog she was awesome too bad she died =( what i thought was kinda funny was the next dogs we got were total opposites - poodles! lol *giggle giggle snort snort* but ya my red heeler has been the smartest dog by far that i've ever owned

  • anyone else think the god at 0:05 looked kinda crazy? O_O

  • make sure your doggie has space to run and run and run and

    run

best way to a good doggie

  • gomanzied did u say small wid black spots....

i knw it mus be de small black spotted piggie dog

  • can some tell about my dog who i found in park and i don't what bread he is. his small with black spots on him his firendly and love chirdlren and he hears anything he barks like a guard dog

  • Maybe its a cattle dog

  • Heyy im just wondering I have two dogs in mind, The Australian Kelpie or the Australian Cattle Dog. I have no idea which will be better for an active and loving family. Please give me answers thankss heaps.

P.S please make a Breed All About it - Australian Kelpie.

  • kelpie has huge amounts of energy. it was bred to run ALL day. you need space for it or at least be very active. it is not really a dog that can be left in the yard.

mind you ACD is probs similar

  • This dog is the best dog in the world! They are the smartest in the wolrd and really easy to train! They also are the longest living dogs in the world up to twenty HUMAN years! Dont listen to "starladustangel" i never had one problem with my acd just an amazing dog!

  • My family hasn't has a problem with their dog but the reality is ACDs need a lot of exercise and attention especially a 10 month old dog from a shelter who had had no real training prior to his adoption. He is a wonderful, clever dog but he is high energy and many ACDs are. It's not a problem. It's just the ACD and someone interested in one needs to realized how much attention and love they need to thrive. It's not a dog you can just leave in a yard to entertain itself.

  • First of all, aren't we all a little biased about our pets? Ratings really don't mean a thing. What matters is how a dog fits into ones life style, how a breed responds to ones personality. I can make my comments based on my life experience. I had a colllie and let's just say, she wasn't the brightest dog, so much for ratings. For me, ACD's have been the easiest to train and so on and so on.

  • i thought german shepards were in the top 3 for intelligence..
