  • Then I suggest that you don't buy from them. You can even encourage others not to buy from them.

I don't suggest you send your goon squad around to harass them or those of us who do appreciate their service. You see, you don't own them, their kitchen, us, or our bodes, so it's none of your damn business.

Oh, and I have it on good authority that the food's outstanding.

  • yea they are protecting the public from potentially organic foods, just go to the McD's and get your GMO food slave!

  • omg...this is sooo sad!

  • So...any idea how I can start one of these near me?

  • foxespiritu...get out cook book and start cooking...lol. Seriously I use to watch a lady that would make weekly stops dropping off her cookies to stores. She supplied the glass jar they came in and stocked them weekly. The stores would shell out the money and off she'd go.

I assume a bisquit business would need a few flyers dropped off to job sites, churches, or where groups of people gather.

  • I fell over laughing on the gateway drug comment.

  • Mrs. Baird's Bread (in Texas, I don't know if any other states sell it) got her start in her kitchen, I remember watching commercials as a youth with old-timey looking baking in a kitchen and they proclaimed where she got her start. We have baked bread for customers always wondering if we would get "busted" and wishing we could advertise. It's surely time for more civil disobedience! Thanks, Tarrin!

  • C'mon people, I, for one, sleep easier knowing the valiant boys in blue are protecting me from unlicensed biscuits. Support your local police or the biscuit terrorists win.

  • Wow I have lived in Georgia, am not surprised..Good ole boys..

    How embarrassing!

  • our tax dollars at work!!!

  • LOL

  • One of my friends had a restaurant in the Savannah area a while back. He always knew ahead of time when the inspector was coming and would have a crew stay the night before to scrub like their lives depended on it. Of course, a nice Christmas card with a token of esteem always went a long way, too.

Basically, a good rating is no guarantee that is what you are getting on the day you visit. The opposite is true, too. You can lose big points for having a lid off a pan and get a bad rating.

  • cops just wanted the free food

  • Awful, just awful. A pox on the Savannah PD. I was going to retire there, but now I'm considering other options.

  • k, that rat should be shot. And those cops should lose their 'jobs'

  • how bout locking up those illegals selling flowers and other crap on the highway. BTW what's a voluntary society

  • If you need a permit or license to do things do you truly live in a free society? Especially since, increasingly, those "permits and licenses" are not issued or only issued based on how much you are willing to pay or who you know.

Classic example is guns. A "may issue" state gives out carry permits at the discretion of the local government. But the common person can't get one. Only politically connected. Everyone else is expected to lay down and die when threatened with violence.

  • It's just another way to make the white man pay for minorities

  • Coppetbaggers!

  • He probably makes some good biscuits and gravy. It's hard to find a good biscuit and gravy. WTF?!! Famous Amos would have never been famous if he was not allowed to sale cookies he made from home!

  • I'm pizzed at Sean for NOT COLLECTING HIS $6.00. WTF Sean, the fraudlent customer STOLE your time, efforts, and wasted a perfectly good plate of food. C'mon Sean, grow some ballz, and go get your hard earned $6.00.

If you called the police about a fake assult/raoe you would be arrested. Go back and arrest the fraud officer, collect your $6.00 and add common law court cost of $15,000.00.

    Go get'em Sean.

  • Business: The Term "business" has no definite or legal meaning. Page 248, Black's Law Dictionary, Revised Fourth Edition.

  • Americans are always asking for permission to do things, they know they are slaves and have jelly for a backbone.

  • So I saw an interview with Paula Deen and she said she was so broke starting out in Savannah she never got any licencing when she ran her "Bag Lady" business. Her empire now is close to 90 Million dollars and her popularity now brings countless tourist and dollars to Savannah.

How much opportunity and money would have been lost if some busy body called the cops on her and shut her down. She started out the exact same way. What if the Savannah Cops shut her down because of a stupid license?

  • @LCLReport

    Yep.

What a lot of these BIG Govt types also fail to realize is that licensing and permits, not only give FALSE ILLUSIONS of safety and security, they also keep small businesses from even entering a marketplace.

Excessive regulations thus can create monopolies and oligopolies, thus driving up costs, and harming consumers.

Liberals and other anti-business types often fail to realize they are unwitting dupes for the same Mega-Corporations they loath so much.

  • Yep thanks for pointing that out. But those big businesses with political ties WANT it to be that way, and are using their influence to force everyone else down.

  • Hell, the cops were IN LINE for those bagged lunches. She was really at her best when she did those because they were GOOD!

SPD has a reputation for going after the easy catch and ignoring the hard stuff. Sad because people need to work and make money any legal way they can. Are they going to bust stay-at-home moms who make craft items or bake cakes for extra money now?

Nevermind... Otis might get ideas for a new revenue stream.

  • great video/interview, Tarrin -

  • as george carlin says....TAKE A CHANCE. sometimes u get cold gravy, sometimes not...

  • Why don't we make a law and FORCE everyone to get food training?

Let's get serious here. Why force just restaurants?

Force EVERYONE because, as Carfinder2005 says, FOOD IS DANGEROUS and COULD KILL PEOPLE!

So if you are untrained and kill yourself with your OWN cooking, my tax dollars will go up to pay your health care... But we can all be saved this by licensing EVERYONE to cook even their own food.

BTW this is the same Lib-tard line of thinking behind Obama care.

    *sarcastic grin*

  • LCL Report is basically a failed chiropractor who is angry at the world for his own poor decisions. Much like his former "profession", Chiroquacktic, he now sells a philosophy that is just as ineffective and empty as Chiroquacktic Medicine...oh qand lets not forget about the nifty "Dime Necklaces" he hawks on his site. Tarrin, you are beyond pathetic. What's next...snake-oil and fortune telling?

  • Wow you got some anger issues. Not sure why all the personal attacks. If you want to argue about points I am making have at it, but not sure what I did to you personally.

It really makes me wonder what has happened to someone in life that fills them with this kind of anger & bitterness?

I had a jewelry background before ever going to Chiro school. I am really happy what I am doing now and instead of being on unemployment and sucking money from others I choose to be productive What do u do?

  • Straw-men... Red herrings... Ad Hominem attacks... Vitriol... and Hatred...

You gotta be another one of those Liberal Fanatics that just loves using BIG Government to satiate your control freak fetishes...

The funniest shit out of your mouth yet is razzing people on their spelling and grammar when your posts are riddled with the same.

    Carfinder2005: just another Lib-tard...

nothing to see here... move along... move along everyone...

  • What a bunch of fucking retards.,,, wow this country is in the shiter... people best be ready this is only going to take a spark

  • If any of you think that inspections & licensing is about anything other than revenue, you are sadly mistaken. . You think GA went to a State General Contractors license to get better quality construction? It was orchestrated by BIG contractors to eliminate competition by smaller companies that did not have a $50,000 line of credit. Thats why there was a "buy in"period before the license was mandated.

  • "Gateway drug, might lead to fried porkchop" OMGROFLMFAO , thats what happened to me.

What a crock, way to stand up to them dude.

    5*

I'll have an order of B&G togo plzzzzzzzzzz

  • OK this story was very funny. I had a food place and them city people were sent to investigate if I was licensed; of course I was licensed. But why didn't they just call us their city licensing office and find out that I was instead of coming in and asking me & looking at my restaurant license on the wall. Then another neighbor stole my worker and offered her a better paying job. So many idiots. If I kept the place, I would have turned into the sandwich Nazi & refuse service to those persons.

  • Um 0:55 look delicious. I wanna move to Savannah to eat some of that food.

  • Nazi camps are next!

  • Few things in life are as good as home made southern biscuts and gravy. I could go for some now. Harrassing the Biscut man. For shame SPD, for shame.

  • I'm sorry to say it , but Americans aren't really all that free.

  • Yup...

And it is populated by an endless stream of fools like Carfinder2005 that falsely thinks he is free...

  • only corporate fast food joints are allowed to sell biscuits in a police state

  • You break the law, you get busted. That is the cops job and that is why I pay my taxes. As a small business owner I applaud SPD for doing their job.

  • Their job is to enact violence one somebody who has harmed nobody?

  • Your a funking idiot. The government is hell.

  • Let me guess. Your name is Dick but your friends call you Richard. AND NO, I DO NOT WANT MY TAX DOLLARS GOING TO SOMETHING AS REDICULOUS OR SILLY AS THIS!!

  • Business as usual. You will see more of this these days.

  • I know of a solution to this problem. It involves Jews, niggers, and the world's largest wood chipper. You can come to your own conclusions about what to do next. By the way, if you are filled with white guilt, please visit jameswickstrom(dot)com. He can possibly correct you.

  • Im Glad i seen this. The US attorneys office needs to be notified right away...i dont think they will be cowed by local biscut thugs.Being in business is a privilage reserved for corporations with the appropriate licenses, legal and accounting staff and was never meant for joe six pak. What is the country comming to

  • I hope someone sends this to FOX News or even the "Lame" stream media/

    Thanks for sharing.........good video

  • NO biscuits for you!!!

  • It's not a big deal at your home when you cook because you know you'll keep your own kitchen safe. When people run a business, they sometimes try to cut corners or get lazy due to high demand. He should move out to the countryside so he won't serve more than a few people a day if he doesn't want to play by the rules. Some of you just have a problem with authority, even though that's the first people you'd run to if you got hepatitis from a restaurant or your child died from E. Coli poisoning.

  • Some of us have a problem with authority?

Or is it you have a problem being a brainwashed boot-licking sheep?

  • yeah, nothing says being able to think logically for oneself like calling someone a sheep. you conspiracy nutjobs need a new mantra.

  • Who is actually being illogical here? There you going throwing that conspiracy label when no one has even mentioned a conspiracy.

Bottom line is if you think police forces need to be wasted to go after someone selling biscuits then you are indeed a brainwashed boot-licking sheep.

Sorry bubba but you lack perspective and common sense...

  • you should have a link in 'info' for the facebook page.

    serve and protect, my arse!

  • Great Idea I will add the link!

  • stupid cops...leave those biscuts alone.

While the stupid cops were detaining that guy for delivering biscuts and gravy a bank was being robbed right down the street. Now we know hos to distract the dumb-ass idiot cops.

  • Just say your trading, exchanging , or bartering.... The police are enforcing revenue laws for the Central Bank. They have no jurisdiction over a trade of property .... Under american law Congressional money is your property ... Police can't arrest you without admitting they are enforcing foreign tax laws. (from DC, not your home state!)

  • The Amish have already been facing raids for selling milk, eggs, ect. without proper "permits". Fuck these "permits", we already pay too many taxes and fees for this ,that, and the other, enough! , I am looking forward to the day when the masses takes up arms and a showdown happens, cops are going to be scattering like roaches when a light gets turned on

  • Sell the francis.

  • I bet they taste good and are cooked better than the commercial food places.

  • God help the girl scouts in that town

  • Profits earned from the sales of cookies fund an amazing number of programs that really develop the young girls into leaders. Its the very best of volunteerism and civic involvement. An interesting fact, is that though Girl Scout Cookie sales is a nationwide tradition, all of the profits earned locally stay locally with the regional council and the local troop. The national Girl Scout organization earns it revenues from a "LICENSE FEE" paid by the bakers contracted to manufacture the cookies.

  • This man doesn't need a business licence. What he did is completely lawful. He needs to set up a Notice of Understanding & Intent and then a Claim of Right to establish his lawful excuse. Google "Bursting Bubbles of Government Deception" & "The Magnificent Deception" by Robert A. Menard to learn how.

His youtube channel is "mrmitee". He is Canadian but it works the same in the States.

Educate yourselves on the differences between lawful & legal, law & statute.

  • Git'r done Shawn!

  • The sale of illegal biscuits and gravy can lead to more violent crimes like murder, rape, and armed robbery.

    Eric Holder

    US Attorney General

  • Wasting money to investigate biscuits soo damn stupid!

  • Stupid worthless unnecessary tax-eaters. They need to reduce the size of the law enforcement workforce by 35-45%.

  • Man, if this guy delivered biscuits & gravy to NY, I'd be calling him right now! LOL

There's always someone that's gotta take a shit on the little guy. Poor guy's just trying to make a living...Way to go Savannah justice system! Keep up the great work!

  • @fuckusername2000 Yes...and the cop who, instead of laughing in the complainant's face, instead said, "sure! We've got nothing better to do!"

  • wow.. biscuit laws.. shame on the cops everwhere.

  • @tonytonytee Hey, can I pay more taxes to support this necessary crime intervention! The police state is now pursuing biscuit sellers...and soon, garage sales and eventually, no ebay or craigslist unless the government gets their cut. Adios America!

  • cops pin on their courage and strap on their balls..they have nothing better to do-- that isn't dangerous. they are too scared of the reals "bad guys" such as, gangsters, corrupt politicians, etc..

  • @semperfortis2009 Many ARE the gangsters! lol :P. It's easier to commit crime and make money when YOU'RE the police and, especially, when you're higher up in government. Follow the money and follow the corruption...the higher up the government authority the worse the corruption...oh, but, it's ok because it's called legal lol :P.

  • Cops with nothing-better-to-do are not exclusive to Savannah, U.S.A. In Belfast, Northern Ireland, they sit around in their cars, and pounce on kids with custom car registration plates, and fine them $30 for having numbers which are a fraction of an inch below regulation size. Easy money, and no hassle with tackling real crime, like muggings, etc.

  • We as Americans need to bypass and disregard this bullshit nonsense from government, and bring the mom and pops business to re flourish our country's economy and stability of peace and freedom. Fucking Pigs!

  • That's what Gerald Celente advocates: Less wall street, more main street. More Less hyper-markets, more Mom & Pops.

  • This type of police action is getting close to the last straw :-)

  • How brave and gallant these police officers are! Keeping us safe from biscuits. In the meantime, how many illegal aliens have you let slide--failing to enforce the law?

So brave and proud--you bastard thugs!

  • But there's no such thing as an "illegal alien"!

  • Might be one of those gun owners, who believes in the Constitution. They'll set him straight when he gets to the FEMA camp. Bet he supported Ron Paul also...Yikes!

  • LOL @ FEMA camps

  • @rabideyemovement: oh yeah... licenses help a whole lot!

watch this one and prepare to be disgusted:

    ?v=hYomw1cLA2U

  • People like rabideyemovement are just brain-washed sheep.

They actually believe licensing will provide safety but all it really does is provide the illusion of safety.

  • it's only a waste of tax money if this guy's gravy didn't make someone sick. Notice he never mentions WHY someone reported him. That's why the health dept requires licenses for eateries that serve to the public. Without inspection, there'd be no requirements to keep a clean kitchen or to make sure the food is safe to eat. Any idiot knows you need a license to sell food to the public. I guess that makes this guy an idiot.... potentially a dangerous idiot if he doesn't care about public safety.

  • i know cause the terrorists win if he sells biscuits right?

  • Right, because the only way to make sure folks serve their customers well and stay in business is to use violence against peaceful people paid for by theft from other peaceful people.

  • Worked for my city during a taco shack hepatitis outbreak, a chinese restaurant that served up canine, and a massive food poisoning at a bbq festival. That stuff flies in the countryside, but in large population areas, food service has to be policed. Gravy isn't always harmless. If someone used a gravy just a couple days old or cooked it with spoiled grease, there could be toxic perfringens poisoning, which can be fatal. The CDC reports an estimated 10,000 cases every year.

  • there was violence? when?

  • Well they kidnapped him and were going to steal from him through fines. If he decided to not pay up to their extortion he would be thrown in jail and if he resisted that he would have been shot.

  • Those cops must have been trippin! LOL!

  • It's two legged moose season!

  • Wow, some cops are just plain bored and useless! I want a biscuit!

  • Thank God!

The citizens of Savannah can walk through dark alleys at night, now that the "Biscuit and Gravy Pusher" has been caught...

  • That's a waste of taxpayers money and police resources . Typical Keystone Cops.

  • You know, the guy is just trying to offer a decent service. If I lived there, I certainly would buy meals from him. If people don't wish to do business with him, then don't. However, the quality of his food will make or break the business. So far, to me anyway, it appears as though he is doing okay there.

Incidentally, people have to pay too many taxes already. And, a business license does NOT guarantee you will have good quality food served to you.

  • I used to be. Now, I only host the site for someone else who does the work.

The only part of it I have anything to do with now, is serving divorce papers anywhere in the Philippines.

  • These biscuits and gravy dealers are killing our children. Thank god for these cops putting their lives on the line for the children.

  • they certainly are brave defenders of state protected criminal syndicates, err I mean governments.

  • So no one has answered the question. "Does this business pay taxes"? Girl Scouts do....

  • I don't pay taxes, I would hope this business doesn't.

  • 1 Adam 12, 1 Adam 12, Ceder man, bisquits and gravy suspect just took a right, correction, he took a left on Maple headed to your location.. be advised suspect may be armed with salt and pepper, approach with extreme caution.. set taser device on B&G Max and await further instructions.. 1 Adam 12, 1 Adam 12, be advised our confidential informant told us that the B&G suspect is also carrying an order of large fries , no word on ketchup accompanying those fries..

  • Girl Scouts are unlicensed solicitors, lets arrest them too. I have one word that comes to mine, asinine.

  • Girl Scouts ARE licensed!

  • I was being sarcastic. However, now that I stand corrected. , You being up another topic. Do you really need children who are doing fundrasing to have a business license? Nevertheless, the Savnnah Biscuit incident is both mornonic and senseless.

  • They don't have a business license....its a permit to sell...Otherwise any nut off the street could walk up to any house, ring the doorbell, and try to sell used socks, a half eaten hot dog, singing lessons....or whatever! Would that be o.k. with you? Not me!

  • Southern Girl, are you ignorant enough to buy a half eaten hot dog from a stranger that knocks on your door? If that person did have a permit, would you then eat the hot dog and sock? Wow, people like you would die if you didn't have the government around to keep you from eating dog crap off the ground. Geez, how ignorant are you people!?!

  • No I wouldn't....I just don't like the idea of people like you ringing my doorbell!

  • Now you're just avoiding the point like everyone else who can't make a good argument for health permits or business licenses. Business permits don't stop the Mormons or Jehovah witnesses from knocking on your door. What do you propose for these people? What if a neighbor wants to borrow sugar? You going to impose a neighbor license to prevent that? What does people knocking on your door have to do with this issue anyway? And why the hell would any one want to sell socks and half eaten hot dogs?

  • People like me? What does that even mean? Am I selling you something? Do you even know what I do? I bet you had a thorough, indoctrinating government 12yr. edu-ma-cation. Make a good point, make a good argument. Otherwise, intelligent people like me are just going to blast you and expose how naive and baseless your wet tissue arguments are. (I bet you don't even understand that simple analogy)

  • Normal/stable people would not want to sell half eaten hot dogs....duh!! I have a masters in early childhood education....The problem with people like you is that if someone does not agree with your point of view...you label them as ignorant!

  • Well, you still haven't made a good point that I have seen. So, yes, "people like me" are going to dub people like you ignorant until you bring up rational. Intelligent people make good arguments, period. You haven't done this, you have done the opposite and even went on a tangent about people knocking on your door and half eaten food. Now you are talking about people like me when the whole issue here is about business license. So I will ask what is you argument for licensing?

  • Southern girl, to be honest with you, these debates make me angry and I do apologize, sincerely, for referring to you as ignorant. It was out of line for me. I think... no, I know you are intelligent, even a genius because we all are.

  • I admit to being a hypocrite too because I got on another poster's case for name calling and then I got upset and did the same to you.

  • Not a genius...not ignorant. Just a teacher and wife of a restaurant owner who agrees that while laws/regulations/business licenses do not create a perfect world, they do help maintain a safe environment for the public. Necessary evils so to speak. My apologies as well for my unpleasant tone. Happy New Year!

  • it's not just an unpleasant tone. It is your willingness to use violence against your neighbor that is the despicable aspect of what you just said. Please stay in the south, and leave liberty lovers alone.

  • At what point did I advocate violence? Some people are really taking this too far!

  • All government regulations are inherently backed by the threat of violence initiated by the state. Asking for these type of regulations in an otherwise self regulated market is advocating violence against your neighbors. Please stop threatening your friends and neighbors.

  • Wow!!! I shudder to think of the injustices you may have experienced as a child to have developed such a warped view of our government/society. Nonetheless...I'm glad we live in a society where you can voice your opinions freely. Have a safe and prosperous new year!

  • that's interesting. You completely ignored my comment I made about government regulation being inherently backed by the threat of violence. That's ok.

  • Wow I shudder to think that so many people are so brainwashed, ignorant, and UNEDUCATED as SouthernGaGirl, that can not see that governments are ALWAYS inherently violent and forceful.

Are you such a ditz as to think governments enforce edicts by throwing flowers and bubble gum at people?

  • @SouthernGaGirlyGirl So I guess since regulations and licenses have been instituted, there has never been a case of food poisoning by a "legal" restaurant? When are people going to realize that all the laws in the world do not make a safer environment? What there should be is guidelines not laws. permits and licenses should only be instituted for an illegal action. e.g. a fireworks display, closing a street for a parade. Not making food.

  • I'm sorry you are ignorant if you think licensing makes food safe.

It just provides an illusion of safety.

  • Support your local, unlicensed businesses! =)

  • America is NOT a FREE Country.

  • Oh, im not a whore i just stop thinking about getting laid tho!

  • You are an idiot! The police do have a lot better to do, but if a citizen makes a complaint, and someone is operating a business out of their home, they cannot just tell the person complaining to go away! They are required BY LAW to investigate the complaint. What don't you understand simple jack!

  • @jojod911 - get a life

  • I understand the law is wrong. There are places in this country that sodomy is illegal. Would you expect folks to be quiet when neighbors start informing on their neighbors and thugs are detaining folks at gunpoint over that? In Alaska, it is illegal to look at a moose from an airplane. How about that one?

I expect folks to treat their neighbors respectfully, and not rat them out to authorities for personal gain. I expect them not to harass others who are going about their business peacefully.

  • Jo the police have no obligation to do anything the supreme court has ruled on this time after time. They usually do something but they do not have to.

  • You are sadly mistaken, if a citizen makes a formal complaint to the the police dept, they HAVE to investigate. The police are not allowed to turn anyone away if they have a complaint about anything. And if a citizen complns about someone operating a restearaunt with a kitchen that has not passed state health inspection and does not have a business license, which is against the law, then it will be investigated.

  • Where do you see a "restearaunt" with a kitchen in this story? It's just someone's house. I can't make someone some food in my own house and give it them in exchange for some cash? I seriously doubt that's how the law is written and if it IS written that way then it sure as hell should not be.

  • You are 100% incorrect-one thousand years of common law, and several USSC cases beginning with South v. Maryland in 1851 confirm that police(or any government enforcement arm) have no duty to protect citizens, or even investigate ANYTHING. That individual localities have policy about this is irrelevant, since it is in no way actionable-its simply words. what world do you live in? Have you ever made a police complaint?

  • Everybody's bitching about the police until some thug has a gun pointed at you, is kicking in your door, or your baby daddy is beating your ass!!!

  • I don't need the police to protect me from some thug kicking my door in. I'd have to wait tens minutes for the cops to get here. Meanwhile, my shotgun responds as fast as I can pull the trigger. Cops really are only good from extracting money from us and making sure illegal drugs stay expensive which in turn makes the demand for them higher.

  • I wih all you cop bashers could ride just one shift as a police officer and see the sheer amount of bs we have to put up with for 8 hrs, you would change your story!!!!

  • Jojo, I am not a cop basher, I just look at the evidence. I have met good respectful cops that I like, and cops that I didn't like, but that is not the point here. Answer this simple question: can the cops get to my house fast enough to protect me from some thug who is kicking my door in to hurt my family, or should I just arm myself? You can call people like us names all you want, but if you don't address simple questions like this, we won't take people who think like you seriously... at all.

  • BOO FUCKING HOO! I'm sure it is bs, being a jack boot thug for the elite is BS. Go back to Communist China, Whiner.

  • As New Yorkers spread south expect stronger efforts to feminize the southern American male. The cops must protect the New Yorkers chain store biscuit intrests.Have they got your guns yet?

  • Next time, bring some donuts.

  • We are living in the twilite zone....freaking pirates

  • Alanda Faye Braden and Gregory James Comer put saltpeter in their food.....

    Go Last Triscuit

  • BMD

    biscuits of mass destruction

  • Excellent video. Subscribed.

  • I suggest you put down the gin...save your issues personal (of which I am certain you have many) for the therapy session and try and stay on point, dear. Where do you get slavery from?

  • This sort of thing is a cash cow for government, which is strapped. To repeal laws such as drug or gun laws is unthinkable so they "need" money.

Government is the real reason why we are all strapped. Google me and see my blog.

  • I think the biggest issue I have is the harder I work, the more this crappy Govt gets paid to do more things I don't like... It is sad how someone can come up with a good idea, and without the help of anybody around, learn how to be successful - Only to be harassed by people who think that they need to be paid for someone else's hard work.

    Sounds like Feudalism to me

  • The cops are being a little extreme but:the part everyone seems to miss is this...the reason the ordinance exists is to protect citizens from 'home-made' food and accidental poisoning from an unsafe kitchen. You can die from toxic food poisoning and as he runs it from an undisclosed location, nobody knows where to go and look for possible causes and they don't know how to help the ailing person. He should be in jail for risking public health and you fans are just encouraging dangerous behavior.

  • You can die from a legal restaurant also. The laws do not offer protection. The laws grant privileges and collect money. How many people have been poisoned by licensed business? Millions every year and thousands of them die every year. We are regulated to death already. There is no such thing as guaranteed safety.

  • The fact that people do die from eating in an unsafe restaurant that are inspected totally supports my point. Food is dangerous...food from unknown origin is reckless disregard for public safety.

  • Comment removed

  • @carfinder2005

"food from unknown origin is reckless disregard for public safety"

    So don't eat it!

  • If you don't know that it came from an unlicensed restaurant, (they don't tell the public that in their advertising), then the public doesn't have that choice. You might buy their food without knowing. Why is this issue so hard to understand? It's as if you think laws are totally pointless...if that's true...you obviously haven't been to Mexico or Brazil.

  • carfinder:

Would you be happy if unlicensed restaurants were required to disclose that fact prominently?

Or do you want to use force to protect me from my own bad choices? If the latter, come on up to Rausch Creek Racing and pull me and the other guys off our dirtbikes. If you don't have the National Guard backing you up, you will get beaten to a pulp and rightly so. Look forward to seeing you there as soon as this global warming quits freezing the ground!

  • Violence is a tool of the ignorant.

It must be your only tool. You have shown your true colors. Unable to respond with anything valid, you resort to threats of violence like most trailer park losers. I guess up in Valley View, PA ., (Population 2,013) they don't value education and reason as much as they do in the other parts of the world. You need to read and travel more and post your ignorance less. Go back to school, get your GED and meanwhile be careful who you talk smack to.

  • @carfinder2005

I did not threaten you with violence UNLESS you try to PULL me off my dirt bike for my own good, in which case you RICHLY deserve it. MY POINT: you have no right to initiate violence against me for my own good, even if you think riding a YZ450F is dangerous, which it is.

BTW, I haul bikes to Rausch Creek and PAY to ride there. No trailer park loser can afford several Yamaha YZ450F bikes, which my son and I ride. I have a right to ride, and a right to eat unlicensed food

  • I am curious, every time you go eat at your Church, friends and families do you make sure their kitchen is inspected by the health department and properly licensed ? Would you also be so fast to throw your friends or family in jail too for doing the same thing.

I think as long as their honest about not having a license it should be someones choice to take that risk. If you are not comfortable, don't order from them. Why should you get to decide for me what I can and can't eat?

  • People don't profit from covered-dish Church dinners....Just curious.......Is the biscuit man paying taxes?

  • I sense that you have paint chips in your past, good friend. Seriously...my family and friends aren't out advertising food for sale for profit and placing their profits above the laws that are there to protect us. If your child became violently ill because some tater-head spilled some rat-killer in the flour by accident...do you really want no restrictions? Thankfully for us, you don't run things, huh?

  • I ate lots of lead! I am just confused, I am saying you can have your licensed business to eat at, but I am willing to take the risk and eat at a place without a license? I am curious why you get to decide for me.

I think licences is all about extorting money. I lived in a place without any zoning and licencing and nobody was poisoned or died? It is in the restaurants interest not to get it's customers sick. Fear of a bad reputation is much more powerful then a mandatory licence.

  • My comment was designed to point out that we live in a country governed by laws. The laws are there for our benefit as a community and are created and are enforced according to the will of the people, who are represented in our democratic system. Just because you don't care what you eat or where it comes from does not make it acceptable to operate a "restaurant" outside the law placing unsuspecting people at risk.

  • "according to the will of the people, who are represented in our democratic system."

The USA was NOT designed to be a democracy. Unfortunately too many people like you want to force your majority will on everyone.

You still fail to understand his point.

Restaurants can still be unlicensed and paranoid ninnies like yourself can choose NOT to do business with the unlicensed ones.

Freedom. Why do people like you hate it so much?

  • My...but you are an angry youngster. I say that because only a child would argue from your position. Laws and health codes in the U. S. are based on a "common good" theory, which is our best attempt to protect the interests of the majority of our people...both smart and stupid. Laws and codes are developed over time...mostly by trail and error or tragedy and response. Health codes are in place to protect us all. This company operates from an undisclosed location and sells food products.

  • I am all about freedom...you have a twisted understanding of the word freedom. Freedom is a wonderful ideal but it does not come at the expense of innocent persons health. By your definition...rape and murder should be OK too...long as it doesn't interfere with your Freedom, huh? What about a mother's freedom to safely by food for her children? I guess thinking isn't something you dedicate much time to doing...but you should remain silent if you can only say stupid things. Unless you enjoy shame

  • Your retort is pure straw man with a dash of red herring. Your vain attempt at sounding intellectual.

Licensing does NOT provide safety nor security. It only provides the ILLUSION of such.

In fact licensing, regulations, and govt intrusions often cause more harm than good.

Those that place blind faith in such govt seals of approval often get harmed as they rarely take any precautions or responsibility themselves for their own safety and security.

Dependency. It's not just a welfare problem.

  • You have all the cute bumper-sticker logic and no substance to support your position...alot like Obama. Luckily for those of us who make up the majority in this country; (you know, people with jobs?)

you are not in charge of anything...except possibly handing out flyers for the next NORML smoke-in. Trying to explain the fundamentals of Law, Government, or Health Codes is as productive as teaching my dog to speak French. You don't have the intellect to engage me in any valid debate.
