  • I first heard Masanabu about 20 years ago when he was the Artistic Director for the now defunct Arcady Festive. I immediately fell in love with his playing, he has the greatest touch of any Pianist I have ever hear. Unfortunately he never to my knowledge ever released an Album of Classical favorites, which I would love to own. I don't think this Rhapsody shows off his true tallent very well and he seems to do that, I think he may fear comparison, Not founded, he is a world class player

  • I wonder how many times he accidentally hit his head against his piano practicing! Haha! (5:09)

  • Simply Impressive!!!

  • he'll be playing Oct 18 in Bar Harbor! Can't wait to see him at St. Saviour's. a 3 Penny Opera will follow! How wonderful and fun he is!

  • I purchased CD's from him at Masanobu Ikemiya, 113 Frenchman's Hill East, Bar Harbor, ME, 04609 for $15 postpaid. Just ask for the disc with Rhapsody in Blue. He'll be playing 7PM at the Nyack, NY Library Sat Nov 1, 2008. $10- $20

  • I Think I Would Use A Cushion Too If I Knew My Arms Were Going To Move That Much.

  • That was cool.

  • EXCELLENT!!

  • there a way to contact Ikemiya directly? I want to know if he's going to put out a CD that includes this great arrangement.

  • A correction... this was recorded in the Liberty Center in downtown Sedalia, not the Community College (I was there when it was taped). A fine performance indeed! Some arrangement! This guy can really play!

  • Thanks. I've made the correction. I should have known, with all that trussing for the lights they had on stage behind the pianos.

    Howard
