A little bit of processed food will not hurt them, but it has to be a rare treat, or else vitamins, which are a good processed food/mineral/vitamin source. Skunks, and cats, need taurine. Cats get it more easily from the diet they can get provided, than skunks, thus a carefully chosen vitamin, daily... And no potato chips.
Ha ha. He just opens the door. I had to put baby locks on all my lower cabinets because of my skunk. He'd get in the recyclables, trash. I also had to get a locking fireplace screen otherwise he'd go in there and leave "presents" which I wouldn't realize until I lit a fire.
When Moriarty was a baby he was a real climber. I was finding him on the counter, in the sink, on the stove. I was worried he'd fall, so I had to take away his ladder. He still climbs me if I'm sitting trying to eat, though. Sometimes, I just have to share my sandwich, if it's got things that are good for skunks in it.

We definitely need a plexiglass barrier... Stink has learned how to climb every baby gate we've put in front of her.
