Best part is at 8:03 in this clip - he has it all. I hate how he loses the car. Oh well more to the story. I do like the fact that when this movie was made there were no computer simulations - everything had to be blown up, shot, etc. Alot of kinetic energy back then.

The Ford used in the film is an XB Falcon Hardtop, an evolution/facelift of the XA sedan which was developed in Australia by Ford Australia personnel. The original XA clay mock-up was done in Dearborne's clay facility only because Ford Australia didn't have one.
It's a totally original design.
Ford Australia's parent company was Ford Canada. Probably changed now.

Excellent.. MM1 + 2 where aboslute classiscs.. The 3rd was a waste of film..
I was only 10 when MM2 came out.. Every single road movie made since then hasn't come close. The Interceptor rules!! I cried like a baby when the car when blown up in MM2... thats why MM3 was so shit... Max has gotta have his Interceptor! I read they're making Fury Road finally... I hope they learn that Max has got to have his Interceptor for it to work... The most evil baddest car ever in cinema history!

Best part is at 8:03 in this clip - he has it all. I hate how he loses the car. Oh well more to the story. I do like the fact that when this movie was made there were no computer simulations - everything had to be blown up, shot, etc. Alot of kinetic energy back then.

I could be mistaken but I believe the Interceptor had the 351 Cleveland with a weiand supercharger...no idea how he could engage the SC with a toggle switch.....right around 600 HP I believe.......if I hit the lotto this car would be on order ASAP.

The Ford used in the film is an XB Falcon Hardtop, an evolution/facelift of the XA sedan which was developed in Australia by Ford Australia personnel. The original XA clay mock-up was done in Dearborne's clay facility only because Ford Australia didn't have one.
It's a totally original design.
Ford Australia's parent company was Ford Canada. Probably changed now.

I like the fast forward approach the director takes to illustrate the high"er" speed scenes, I think this is one element that drew me into the movies to begin with.That car is a force to be reckoned with, so is the driver.

You know what sucks, you hardly ever see any Falcons like this out drivin around or at car shows. Only Fords people fix up is the Mustangs, very few 70s Falcons. Ive seen none in southwest missouri. Btw you can buy little johnny lighting mad max cop cars, i just got one a few days ago.
