  • what happend to your arm? will it ever get better?

  • go back to SCHOOL..cause as a dropout ya failed....come on ..really a paint can and dryer vent ?????...glad it YOUR garage..not mine

  • That looks like a kool idea for the garage.Been looking at some to put in my garge for winter use.

  • Cozy neat little stove ! Thats really good to take something thats going to be thrown away like that metal bucket and those empty paint cans and make something that can warm you great ideal !!!

  • Thank you. I added this to my page. I wanted somthing to show my viewers that anyone could make with limited tools to keep from freezing to death during a natural, man made or economic disaster. Something for the unprepaired. Sure, its unsafe. Its just less unsafe than below freezing temperature. Just keep the fire small... and maby invest in a carbon monoxide detecter. Ah, heck. Now I have to go buy one to not be a hipocrite. Where are my keys?.....

  • @willibill1 You're obviously a city slicker with no knowledge of wood stoves.. This is probably safer than gas heat. You're not stupid, youre just not used to the way wood burning handles. It's very safe, my house is heated by a coal stove we burn wood in as well. It runs literally 24/7, we don't put it out at night because if we do it's pretty cold when we get up! Gas heat is very unsafe and expensive... That's why I live in the country.

  • I built one very similar... With an old gas can from like the 40's and a rain gutter as my chimney! No door, it's propped up on about 12 cinder blocks. Keeps my shack warm for hours without even touching it.

  • make one out of a 44 gal drum I think you in the states call'em 55 gal drums

  • I think you better rebuild it, your going to burn your garage down for sure......

  • No spark arrester on top of stack= roof fire..aerosol can next to flaming bucket= explosion...drier duct for vent stack= structure fire..nice idea, but use some better materials for the sake of safety.

  • thats not a stove its a heater u cant cook on it

  • go to an auto parts store and get some flex exhast tubing that works good if you need something that flexes

  • idiot

  • cool man

  • im workin on mine now!!!

i made mine out of soup cans but when it comes to the chimney, pain in the ass!!!

  • That can't be safe. Be careful about carbon monoxide.

  • This is NOT safe...

  • Yeah? Then don't burn your gay selves and play with other things...

  • dryer vent can melt

    poor stove pipe

  • looks like a firehazzard

  • awesome

  • THX

  • hey just a idea but why not use exhaust pipe from auto parts store. it'll be thicker than stove pipe and you can get elbos and straight pipe.

  • i just used wut i had

  • @bret354 Just dont use galvenised pipe as it gives off poison fumes when heated

  • Very good vid I'm going to make one for my winter camping, thanks man!!!!

  • you put a danguros amount of wood in the stove

  • we got that non-combustible dryer tube for our stove too - it combusted when to stove got super hot. One of my videos called stove test #1 shows this.

  • well... if you look, i have a 19 inch pipe on it before the dryer tube! its not perfect, but hasnt caught at all. how exactly did it flame?

  • hope your insurance guy doesn't see this. great vid. cool stove, good job.

  • hey have you burnt your house down yet lol wares the videos

  • haha...no not yet! i'll get workin on some more videos soon, ive kinda been takin a lil break

  • you can make me a stove next too! i am working on stuff with snoot coming out my nose is soo cold in my garge..i hate my trees in my yard i want to burn them.

  • haha

  • Nice! I made a potbelly out of a 5l heineken minikeg, kind of a hobo stove, but I used a fencepole from a chainlink fence for the chimney. I use mine for a deck heater,so i don't face the same venting concerns you do. It's fun to do this stuff( and backpacking stoves as well!) Just watch you don't get caught in the trap of looking at every round piece of metal in the world as a potential stove! Addicting!

  • Nice job. Very resourceful.

  • thx

  • I don't like to see the chimney going through wood! Put a metal chimney insert through wood.

  • Hi Chris,

How is the wood stove working out for ya?

  • You might want to think also how to get sod out of your chimney. That has to be removed regularly. Also think about how to stop cold air coming in through your exhaust while you have no fire in your stove.

  • Great job. I'm making one as well using a old KeroSun kerosene can. I'm going to add a small soup can baffle so I can adjust the air intake. Also I'm using some old bricks to help hold the heat in the actual can.

  • Awesome little wood stove, great job! Add some thermoelectric generators to it and get some free electricity for your shop. There are some good thermoelectric generator videos on YouTube.

  • i'll look into those

  • Excellent job man, keep up the good work.

  • thanks

  • you can come make me a wood stove so im not so cold!

  • This is a great survival idea. Many people are and soon will loose the ability to afford heating their homes. This is a great option in a time of crisis especially because most of the items can be found without cost or a few $ at most. Great vid

  • Thanks Chris!

  • Was that just a 5 gallon metal bucket you used?

  • yes it is!

  • Ok Thanks.

  • Nicely done 5*

  • I agree with Terrafirma and NCHiker: Like I said with the other vid, You need that draft. Also adding a grill there would make it more efficient when ashes won't suffocate it and the bottom wouldn't burn through so easily. Also loose that dumbbell and use cast iron plate or frying pan and you can cook also there.

  • thx...ya..i was thinkin bout finding a small oven rack i can cutup for a bottom so ashes could fall through. the vent/draft hole & i might make the exhuast hole larger. i thought of the stuff...just kinda got lazy...lol..i'll give ya'll an update when i do more to it

  • With a garden like yours no way could you be lazy. As for the rack for your stove I found small hibachi grills to work really well, and being made of cast iron they last forever.

  • Nice job, ive been trying to make a small woodstove for an igloo or tent. So far it hasnt been going to good but im working on it.

  • They are making those portable tentstoves here in Finland. They're called kamina in Finnish. Check them out and you get an idea how to make one. In igloo you can't use one because a stove would melt an igloo.

  • Wouldn't a wood stove melt the igloo?

  • Great vid man, It seems to work really well. I agree it may work better with some vents in the door, I bet that thing get cherry red when its burning hot. PEace

  • nice job appexx ... xoxo

  • Great idea, Its always better to be warm then cold. Helps with the creative mind when your comfortable. I agree with TerraFirma369... adding a draft in front of the door would be a plus.

  • Good job! Have you thought about a draft with a control on the door, similar to a charcoal bbq? It should help you with the flame control and fuel consumption. Peace.

  • lol thx...ya i understand the restrictions...its only temporary for the winter! it'll be takin down when it warms up.

  • Cool fire place. Nice job. 5*

  • thx bud!

  • Nice stove. Great job recycling old junk into something usable. I might just have to make one now. LOL

  • Awesome fire place

  • thanks!

  • how do you do all of this stuff with your arm in a sling. You are good. If you dont mind me asking what happened to your arm? You have that sling on in every video i see you in.

  • On his YT channel it says that he fell a few stories and tore some nerves so his arm is half paralyzed

  • Oh wow thats not cool. I hope he gets better. Hes awesome with one arm. Imagine what he could do with both.

  • i just try man...i try my best & most times succeed & try not to let anything hold me down. thx for the support

  • Hey no problem man. Thx for making your videos. I have to say you educate me a lot and I enjoy them very much. Its good to see someone with your enginuity.
