  • How big do land hermit crabs get???

  • I don't think this is a PP - looks like an indo to me.

  • what do you feed one of these little babies

  • Hi... Good thing your hermit crab is eating well...

I got mine from a place close to a beach...

    not exactly a beach...

I picked it coz I guess it's just living in backyards...'

It's still not eating until today...huhu

    I gave it some papayas....c",)

  • hes thinking it's popcorn while watching a movie☺☺☺!

  • You can tell if they are a boy or a girl by looking at the abdomen and if it's a girl it will have to little holes on each side. If it's a boy it won't have any holes

  • hey i didnt know that fact about crabs i have one idk what to name it cause idk if its a boy or girl thank you:)

  • actully the holes are on their third pair of legs, on the part where they connect to the body :)

  • i have 15 hermit crabs, because it gave birth!!! but i did not name them

  • We have just adopted 2 hermit crabs for my daughter...I was always told that they do not reproduce in captivity...is this true, (obiously yours did)??? if not how do you know male from female?

  • I don't believe that land hermit crabs can breed in captivity unless we have tidal pool & proper diet, but if your hermit crabs are the marine ones, there's still possibilities.

  • hermit crabs dont give birth

they release eggs after the male fertilises them

this is very unlikely to happen in captivity

as they do this in the ocean

you would need a part salt water aquarium /terrainium ranging a 40-60 gallon tank

with both land and sea properties

  • Thats a lie..hermit crabs don't bread in captivity..and no one has got them to do it yet.

  • pastashioh

  • what species is that?where do you buy them?

  • at any pet store.i got a big one like that two

  • From the eyes & leg color, I identify that hermit crab as Coenobita violascens or Sunset/Komurasaki Land Hermit Crab

  • I agree. The red antennae and violet body strongly suggests that the hermit crab is a member of C. violascens.

  • It's so adorable how they feed. Have you guys ever saw them use their oart the eat with (not the claw o-o) so clean their eyeballs??

it's sooo cute! they bend their eyes down and rub their mouth part eatting thing on it

  • my hermit crab wont eat like that

  • cool

  • Aww, he's all. "Om nom nom nom, this is delicious pear"

  • errrr

  • It looks like an ecuadorian crab.

  • indeed it is .

  • Well you see, the crab uses it's smaller claw to scrape peices for the hands near the mouth

  • what does that have to do with what im talking about ?

  • OH DAM
