Some of you assume that the planet had the same number of species then that it does now. Prayer isn't scientific, but if it actually produced real RESULTS in the real world (which the Bible says it does), then we would be able to see and measure them. When we apply reliable methods to see if prayer produces actual EFFECTS, the results are always the same. Nothing.

The structure on Mount Ararat is simply not the Ark. Even if the stories of Noah's Ark are indeed true, it would not exist today. After flooding of that scale, the natural landscapes would have been destroyed, and trees would have been buried under mud churned up by the floods. The best source of building materials would have been wood from the Ark itself. It is most likely that the Ark would have been disassembled to get wood for buildings, and so would be impossible to find.

It's quite plausible that there may have been only one kind of panther which was the common ancestor of lions, tigers, etc... and the say may have been true for other creatures. As for historicity, numerous ruins have been dug up using the Bible as a geographical guide, something that would be impossible if it were all made up. The structure on Mount Ararat is simply not the Ark. Even if the stories of Noah's Ark are indeed true, it would not exist today. After flooding of that scale, the natural landscapes would have been destroyed, and trees would have been buried under mud churned up by the floods. The best source of building materials would have been wood from the Ark itself. It is most likely that the Ark would have been disassembled to get wood for buildings, and so would be impossible to find.

God answers prayer, but how He will answer is very specific in the Bible.

That is why in Matthew 6:10 were are told to pray God's will be done, not ours, because we don't know what's best for us. Also Jesus talks about whose prayers will be answered; hypocrites do not seem favored by God. That should be more than enough of a direct response to that study. Personally I have experienced God and I feel He shows Himself more and more everyday.

there is an amazing amount of misinformation and lack of knowledge on this subject. the ark already been found officially designated as the site by the turkish govt. its now Noahs ark Natl park. many say no way the ark can hold all animals and noah cant gather them all. The ark wasnt a wooden ship. It is impossible to house every animal in the world, or to collect them, to be held, by one person. The ark was a metaphor for a shielded DNA bank. That is the only way to store every living creature. There DNA. K, no one needs to post anymore, mystery solved.

@graemealee One more thing. Some of the best testimony of hell comes from atheists. A simple search for keywords like HELL and NDE will give you all kinds of first hand accounts of hell, many from atheists (now ex-atheists). Not only is this good proof of the fallacy of atheism, but one can learn what sent those people to hell. I'm an intelligent logical person who believes in things that exist, and doesn't believe in things that don't, so you're the one on the wrong side of the argument.

In outrsociety, if you commit a crime, you go to prison (a punishment), yet I don't hear atheists say that's immoral. What a double standard. For you to think that it is unfair that Hitler be punished and somebody like Mother Teresa be rewarded, I find lacking common sense. I guess it doesn't mater how one lives, everybody should get off scot-free.

@graemealee You, like most modern people don't understand myths. They are moral stories or information applied to an actual event. A person shouldn't literally believe the exact details of the Noah story anymore than the 500+ other accounts from around the world of the global flood, where it was survived by people and animals that climbed to the tops of palm trees, or a man and woman in a hollowed out log, or two brothers who climbed to the top of a mountain, etc. So you can stop insulting.

Nobody finds it odd that there arent any pictures of the Ark? It was busted but the religious community keeps reposting it for those who cant search on google.

Ah, and don't forget, Noah had to take millions of species of insects which don't cross-breed, cellular level life forms, parasites, bacteria, etc. And he had to make special trips to China to get bamboo shoots for the Pandas. And do you know how many bamboo shoots it would take to keep one pair (or was it seven?) pairs of pandas going for several months? He would have needed at least a semi truck to transport it. Then of course, there is Genesis 6:21 God tells him to start collecting food too. The Firmament described in Genesis 1:7, with all of its nutrients, allowed all creatures to be herbivores. Finally, if you're a Christian that thinks this story, from the Bible, is a myth, why are you a Christian? Is it the word of God or not?

A floating zoo is cool.... when your 7 years old. I played an alligator in Catholic school... the only kid in our play who was in costume was Noah. And I once owned a toy ark (This was a promotional item from the Arco gas retailers.) I had the whole set...Dad would fill up the car and I'd get a set of two plastic animals. And I love space movies where an 'Ark' is escaping Earth. But I think science does better with understanding the Universe than Scripture.

How'd all the animals get all ovwe the world from Turkey? Did the sloths ride anacondas all the way to South America? They must have, otherwise they'd still be enroute! Sloths don't move very fast, hence their name. How'd Noah get over a million different species of animals into a ship that only had a million square feet of space? Fold them?
