I really dont give a shit about the super rich but if they barely pay more takes than I do than something is wrong. If their business is failing because they are corrupt and take all the money for themselves and I HAVE TO PAY THEM OUT OF DEPT than something is wrong!!!!
Funny how ALL the relevant statistics and survey data DON'T back him up, which makes me wonder if he's really saying this because of business or is just a partisan hack pretending like Obama's policies are "destroying the middle class."
I mean, come on... "Obamacare" increasing healthcare costs by 50%?? Btw, doesn't Wynn Resorts make something like at least $200 Million in profits??
To hear him whine and bitch about Obama's watered-down 'regulation' is insane! The 5 or so major bills that target diff. industries, along with a handful of smaller regulations at the individual regulator level, REALLY are causing all this shit? Gimme a break, Wynn.
The NFIB's own survey data shows that small and medium-sized businesses AREN'T that much more afraid of regulation than usual. Bureau of Labor Statistics data on the number of jobs cost by "regulation" isn't much diff. from usual (.2-.4%). And on and on. Methinks Wynn doth protest too much. Public Citizen not too long ago did an AMAZING study about the fact that many regulators, businessmen, and right-wingers oftentimes OVERESTIMATE the true costs of regulation before they put in place.
And then the actual costs turn out to be so much lower. So I'm not sure I can take guys like Wynn seriously here. Esp. when he runs a very successful co. that makes HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS in profit! Revenues alone are probably close to $1 Billion considering that. Or more
Maybe if Cavuto had on an ACTUAL SMALL BUSINESSMAN with a co. that makes no more than a few million or few hundred grand in profit who could attest to the "job-killing" policies of Obama, then I'd take these claims a little more seriously. But hearing really wealthy people bitch and complain about Obama's policies sounds like a bunch of assholes who think the world revolves around them saying, "Wait a minute! I thought I was supposed to get my way with Washington. Wtf?"
Or Harvey Golub, former head of Campbell's Soup and American Express, among other companies, on other Fox Business shows.
Funny how not a SINGLE business leader guys like Cavuto or Fox Business ever have on to complain about "uncertainty" or regulation is a small businessman. SURELY they could find at least one?
I think rich businessmen have gotten so used to having their way ever since Reagan came into office (and Clinton was a "New Democrat", after all) with hardly any opposition to major deregulation or smaller gov't on economics that, once a president comes into office who actually CRITICIZES THEM in a harsh way and at least TRIES to regulate in a big way, their sense of entitlement bites them in the ass.
This sounds like oligarchs bitching because they can't get EVERYTHING they want, only some.
NAME a major policy that's ACTUALLY having such a chilling effect, Wynn. Show me PROOF, not just typical right-wing-sounding rhetoric about "Obamacare." So you have to pay a little more (with your $200 MILLION-PROFIT CO, to reiterate) for healthcare of employees. Big fuckin whoop. They deserve access to HC.
What's next? Is he gonna complain about how, "I don't wanna pay my higher-earning employees $100k anymore" and then say, " I'll lower all employee salaries by 25-50%"?
I'm sorry, but when real breadwinners making, say, only 20 grand a year or being unable to find high-paying jobs that they once had for decades partly because of this recession have a hard time putting food on the table, it sounds a little pretentious and arrogant for a guy who's incredibly wealthy to bitch about how his profitable company "has to pay a little more to comply with regulations."
Sorry, but I just CAN'T TAKE SERIOUSLY claims of overregulation when you still make $200 Million!
Man, a lot of these wealthy folks really live in a bubble. GET IN THE REAL WORLD and go out some time. Meet REAL PEOPLE for a change who are struggling. Then you'll see how stupid your statements sound.
I've nothing against wealth or business, though. I just have a problem with EXCESSIVE GREED and people who are rich bitching like they're poor or some shit. It pisses me off to no end.
@whoo689 Yes you do have something against wealth. Just how do YOU define excessive greed? I'm sick of listening to people whining about other people being greedy. I've yet to meet anyone who works their ___ off or risks their own capital starting a business without expectation of making money. People expect and need to make money! Stop venting your own envy by dressing it up with pretend righteousness.
