Pit Bull, WHY is it so difficult for people to spell it right?!?!?! Goodness gracious! And none of these dogs are Pits! Pit Bulls are bred for DRIVE, if a Pit Bull is not a working dog it is not a Pit Bull, it is an AmStaff!!! Why can't they just have dog owners to a temperament test? That would solve the whole problem!
Put a dog in a cage, have him muzzled and on a short leash at all times, and voilá, you have a frustrated and potentionally dangerous dog.
Did you know that the most common dog in fatal attacks on humans, is an intact male dog on a chain or lead?
Neuter them, make sure they are with responsible people who can raise the dog properly and let the dog run loose and release his pent-up energy, and you have a good dog.
How do they account for pit bulls being used as therapy dogs with out incidents? its rediculous, and if you register your dogs it absolutely gives the gov't a location if they decide to go the way of Denver, than registered dogs WILL be the first targets! Carloee is correct it is the owner and Dr. Graeme Smith is an idiot! There are no bad breeds period, just bad owners he is just another moron following what the media says. Shameful for a man in his position!
That's garbage BSL never helps to identify dangerous dogs it only labels and kills innocent ones! Good for you I thought you spoke from the heart and did a bang up job! I will only add that Pit bulls also need our love and understanding, people make the dog just as parents make the kid :) There may be some that are a result of bad breeding, same as us, but I know for a fact that those dogs represent a miniscule percentage, almost to low to even be accounted for at all.

Plus they wouldn't make as much a fuss if it wasn't a pitbull lookalike! (I'm not saying it isnt horrible what happend to the 4yo kid!)
