  • 2:27 - 3:01 - I've just fallen in love in Maddy!

  • this is so cheezy!

  • Is it weird that I really like his voice?

  • @brianthelion79 Yeah ;-)

  • This scene made me giggle. But I agree that James is a pointless character. He reminds me of Chace Crawford/Nate Archibald on Gossip Girl - no personality whatsoever and terribly bad acting. If only Bob or at least Evelyn had had mercy on the audience and killed him off...

  • where are the bass and drums coming from?

    ....GHOSTS!!!!

  • Oh Come on, since when cousins look like identical twins? What a bs...Great series though.

  • @juliettta12 -- Since at least the Patty Duke Show -- "Cousins, Identical Cousins"

  • i dont get wht the problem is wih his voice. Twin Peaks is a peace of art, especially because unexpected things show up.

  • 2:28

  • Is it weird that Maddy was so much hotter than Laura?

  • So awkward... also, who is playing the drums?

  • Comment removed

  • good god, what did they see in this guy?

  • This was the first time Twin Peaks made me stop and go "WTF am I watching?"

  • God James was the worst part of this show >.<

  • Oh James! What a manly voice... lol I think Killer Bob was grabbing on his balls.

  • James had his balls cut off or what?

  • Maybe from Donna's tape recorder, who knows, but not matter... BOB is lurking behind the wall, that's the true master scene!

  • with tension so thick, you could fuck it

  • I hate James. I don't know what he's like in real life, but I don't really care, I just want to punch him in the face so badly.

  • most gorgeously realized surrealistic take on older teen angst possible to conceive. a gift that stands on its own apart from the series. a wonderful memorable moment.

  • I really love the show, I'm currently watching it for the fourth or fifth time, but, god damn, if this isn't the lamest shit ever. I can't stand James anyway, and then he comes out with this wet, pathetic crap. Ah christ, I've still got that subplot with James leaving town and hooking up with the rich lady to endure.

  • @TheDeadlySpawn79 INDEED x100

  • Such a beautiful show.

  • @igorbporto He may not be the best but almost the entire cast is just of exceptional quality (particularly the ones behind Leland, Ben, Dennis(e) and of course agent Cooper are amazing!).

So much talents, really, and not just one "big" star! And above all, one of the greatest director of our time, what else could we desire? :)

Anyway, I'm watching it atm and waow this series still rocks after all this years. Timeless!

  • where can I find the chords?

  • just you and i, and maddy

  • Is this really James Marshall singing? It's so, so different to his speaking voice.

  • @bonuscheesemilk If it is his voice it's been heavily treated. I think it's a teenage boy singing myself.

  • Comment removed

  • This show is amazing but James should never EVER be allowed to sing. I think he rendered both of them infertile with that song.

  • Why all the negative comments...? I always loved this scene; I guess you need to be a girl to get it...

Thanks for posting it Miloszsos. And as for SUSPEKT29 and your comment below, get off this channel. Nobody wants to read your incredibly low class opinion.

  • @jmohan23 not really, I'm a man and love this scene. maybe some people are just jealous that james is a ladiesman hehe :D

  • I bet Donna and Laura's pussy got so wet after hearing James play this

  • @suspekt29 Laura wasn't there....

  • @pyramidheadthingy I meant Maddy, smart ass :)

  • @suspekt29 all good man :] haha

  • They sing terribly, but the scene is so emotional

  • @TigerMousse its great, people generally dont sing like trained talented singers, this brings so much more immersion and believability of the show that they sing normal. David lynch is a genius, he could have used voice over but didnt.

  • "James is so sweet, but so dumb!"- Laura Palmer

  • So who's playing the drums?

  • this would suck so much without echo...

  • Worst Twin Peaks song

  • I like this song.No really,i really do,i really like this song.

  • unbelievable what the insane guy manged to create a scene from...

  • there are one or two few things that make twin peaks embarrassing to watch. But it's still the best thing ever.

  • finita la canzone arriva Bob al quale forse la canzone gli è piaciuta molto e voleva cantare con laura james e dana

  • i love this song, but it could have been so much better! that pointless squeaky voice takes so much away from this song

  • @swoosh363 - Haha, my exact thought :)

  • i wonder how many takes it took for them not to laugh at james' voice

  • sounds a bit like sparklehorse

  • I'm glad everyone else seems to hate the time consuming prick that is james just as much as I do.

  • I am seriously trying to get this song/video to be the next "rickrolled" video.

  • @mwilson345

Get an original idea, loser. Only lame morons try to be the next anything.

  • @Shirokinukatsukami I agree. By "seriously" I meant "not really." I'm sorry that my irony was not clear. I have no intention of promoting this sublimely horrible song in any way.

  • Singing "Just you and I" with 3 people there...ahh somebody has to be the third wheel here....kind of awkward for anyone there haha. But ironic moments like this are exactly what makes a scene so memorable and powerful

  • @weskalman Umm it IS called "Twin" peaks for a reason.

  • the look on the the 2 girls face....they look simple

  • His voice just changed from teenage to little girl.

  • @SJ363 it aint him

  • actually this is a beautiful song, he has a high pitched voice but it fits in perfectly with the creepyness of the twin peaks theme a

  • I imagine the red dwarf playing the drums and bob is playing bass at the background =))

  • this is so fuckin weak! and james is a sob!

  • This is beautiful :)

  • Seriously one of most hilariously awful scenes in the history of television.

  • What the fuck is up with Jame's voice?!

    Embarrassing scene...

  • @Gustav165130

I always thought it was supposed to imply some kind of psycho creepy aspect. I thought either Dale Cooper or James being some kind of malevolent spirit would have been a creative way to handle the show. Of course, perhaps that was planned for Season 3, I guess.

  • he sounds like a dying cat

  • This scene made me feel like I was Donna. I've never empathized this strongly with a fictional character before.

  • "that was really good let's try it again." it probably wasn't, james.

  • This is the worst song ever and i love it so much!! =]

  • where the fuck is the bass and drums coming from

  • @alloagregor not even david lynch knows.

  • @TheBackseatJesus if you look at the guitars fret board or neck, all these lovely hammer ons are non existant aswell

  • @alloagregor and the non existant hammer ons and crazy chord changes during these hammer ons..... great show tho

  • @alloagregor well if they were recording their singing it might have already been on the tape recorder - remember that later he comes by to give the tape to Maddy but she had already left (and unbeknownst to him, been killed and was in Leland's golf bag either in the closet or in the car or dumped... i don't recall off hand), but then again this IS Twin Peaks so maybe it was all in his head. When Donna gets up and James stops playing, everything stops.... not too likely if it were a recorder

  • @alloagregor From the pit of despair that is the Town of Twin Peaks.

  • @alloagregor The Black Lodge

  • @alloagregor red dwarf on the bass and bob on drums, or the other way around

  • @alloagregor this is movie, fuck, you are really stupid...

  • @alloagregor David Lynch is playing the bass & drums

  • @alloagregor bob.

  • really i like the singing, its weird but awesome. my only concern is where the hell is the bassline coming from?

  • who wrote this song was it lynch

  • @321090 i believe so, it sounds alot like some of the stuff ive heard him produce

  • This song is on eternal loop in hell. Repent now, fuckers!

  • i hate james

  • thanks for the upload

  • I love Twin Peaks! I bought the boxed DVD set and both CD soundtracks! I love this song! It has an eerie and haunting sound to it, as do some of the other songs in the Twin Peaks series. Watch their faces...their eyes...I will never tire watching this! PS of course it is not his natural voice! It's the microphone settings!

  • God, James' voice... he sounds like an elderly woman

  • @Gutted94 he sounds like David Lynch on helium

  • LOL sif thats james' voice. most embarrassing scene to even WATCH cant imagine being in it lol. my god.. lol

  • its supposed to be corny!!

  • where do i download this song?

  • what episode?

  • I always felt this scene was really forced. The song is ...sorta nice (sounds like Richard O'Brien singing. WHAT?!) and the purpose of the scene is the song giving meaning to the looks being passed about. However, the whole thing...just corny.

  • @MaximTrigger

Ah but Twin Peaks as a whole is corny, and most of the acting is awful. But that's what makes it brilliant! That, and the awesome directing.

  • @Deflaybourisc It's not awful acting, it's just different...

  • Lets try it again?! How bad was it the prior time?

  • it's good you reuploaded

  • Sheryl Lee is absolutely gorgeous!!!

  • This scene is often sneered at by many viewers, who see 'James' as the rather maudlin, wishy-washy lover of Laura AND Donna AND Maddy... Not so simple !

I don't think this 'song' (just a short ballad- nothing much) is to be taken at face value : as 'a song'. Rather, I see it as a pretext for concentrating on the FACES : how faces -eyes, especially- can convey longing, nostalgia, desire.

James Marshall has perfect eyes for this : literally boring into Maddy's (oh- precious Sheryl Lee !).

  • thnx for the upload, some trax are hard to find, and this is one of em

  • Somebody link me to where I can download this as a track. I'd be most grateful.

  • the absurdity of this scene blows my mind.

  • great.... I love it... The series is one of the best of all time... until episode 16-17 something like that, after Leland Palmer dies.. perfect ending... after that nothing is the same and not even close as good as before... script, acting, excitment ... nothing...

  • thanks!

  • awesome! lost can suck it

  • Most romantic and wondeful scene of the series. Highly deserved. Brilliant track!

  • Worst part of the series. Like holy fuck.

  • What is the purpose of this scene? It comes out of nowhere and has zero context. What he's playing doesn't actually match the song. The slight delay effect is strange as hell too but I guess that's all deliberate.

  • James is not really a "ladies man" with that voice...

He sounded more like the Lady In the Radiator!

  • who was playing bass and percussion in this scene?

  • Why Lynch why. :(

  • It`s wonderful how scenes like this give all the horrors of the show more substantiality through a contrast.

  • @ertzuiop123 yeah the part right after this with BOB on the couch is even scarier with this pretty little song right before it

  • actually Lynch did direct this episode believe it or not

  • James really is the worst actor in the history of the world. But apparently, David Lynch deliberately cast wooden actors to give the show a slightly artificial feel. It is a wonderful piece of casting, but let's not pretend its good acting. It ain't.

  • they´re so naive and trustful despite all the things that just happend... but the end of the scene is the most important, where is it?

  • I know.. I hate it when they cut the most important parts of scenes from videos on here :/

  • DOH...take 3

  • with this song; keys, collar, clasp and a basement a foot or two below normal and we have a relationship. deranged huh? but that's whats entertainment is all about. interpretation to the situation, am i sic, i think not. let see what else is on. shut up and be quite!!! u and i (music playing)

  • so simple and so moving. Who is Maddy (2:40 ?) ?:

  • donna's cousin played by the actress who played laura

  • its lauras cousin not donnas.

  • I love the way Lynch can actually 'make' actors and actresses speak with their eyes... A brilliant director. He can get so much out of people's faces.

And his use of music: always perfect-perfect-perfect!

  • Thank you Lieslann. Thank you Miloz

  • James is by far the smartest character. He left that damn town while everyone else, including that idiot agent Cooper, decided to go and chase poontang.

  • booosh! hit the nail on the head.

  • throw yourself off a bridge

  • tony moans with a guy for pay, but will never understand satire. fire walk with me tonymoans (what a revealing name ma'am.) ciao

  • no it was an "right off the bat" statement, just like you made to me. i love twin peaks. it has a dark side as well as love not being enough. and you took it personally, for shame, but no one is perfect, especially me. you ..stay cool and stay calm and realize media is media. as for gay jokes, not my forte. it was a south park pun to get a kyle like response which you provided with ease. elf restraint and an open mind will get you far or ahead in the joke scene.

  • @Tirius9393 Wow, I'm still laughing. So funny.

  • james is by far the lamest character

  • James + Lame = Lames!

  • @parafluxuation no way.. characters like Josey, Nadine, Hank or Windom Earle were far more annoying..

  • @parafluxuation by far, by far

  • General comment,James is my far away friend that i no for awhile in the real life and he is singing with Donna and this is his italien far away woman and the other woman Maddy i can't filled in witch the third woman is.

  • Great upload! Thanks!

    Marvellous song!

  • Excellente cette scène ! Série mythique...

  • it's so beautiful .

  • Haha! This scene is great! He sounds like he's trying to sound weird on purpose.

  • I just watched this episode yesterday and I seriously could not believe how gawd awful this scene was. I am loving the series (my first time), but some scenes, like this one really make me wonder what was going on in whoever thought up this scenes mind.

  • donna is cool

  • you know its funny when i first saw this scene i was expecting like a steve perry kinda voice from james...not this lmfao

  • also maddie looks like shes enjoyin at bit tooo much at one point

  • I don't mind the fact that it doesn't look very believable. :) I think it's intentional, the effect reminds me of the scene in Mulholland Dr where the singer faints but the singing goes on. I don't remember if Lynch directed this episode though.

  • the real funny thing is yall dont shut up and let me hear the song

  • Lee is SO much better looking then Boyle. Then and FOR sure these days!

  • I thought Lee was annoying as hell in Fire Walk With Me. Boyle on the show to me was an ethereal presence. Her voice makes me shudder, her face so mysterious. She's a SUBTLE bombshell. Idk that's just how I've always felt about that matter, but I'm not straight so my opinion probably doesn't matter anyways.

  • was fire walk with me any good i watched twin peaks and was wondering how fire walk with me was

  • Yeah it's good. It shows Laura's perspective the few days before she died leading up to Bob killing her. Basically the prequel to Twin Peaks. Haha Laura snorting lines of cocaine in her bedroom @ night with her parents upstairs, and in the school bathroom stalls... could high school be portrayed on screen any more accurately? HA!

  • Could somebody enclose tabs to this song? Seems to be very simple, just for total beginners like me ;)

  • Busqué por siglos esta canción!!!

  • yo tb!! me encanta Twin Peaks!! y James es una ricura!!

  • I love reverb & echo

  • actually they ARE the ones singing

  • That's funny, because his lips don't sync up to the words that are coming out.

  • the real funny thing is that in the back sounds a percussion thing. =)

  • i meant the actors really recorded this song, of course it's playback in this scene

  • also a bass i think.

  • This song always made me crack up. Whenever I watch the scene I laugh... and then BOB comes and I'm scared again.

  • i love it. spooky and emotional..touches me
