  • This is like the time I was living in Hawaii for the first week and lit rely there was lizards everywhere!! There was a massive one on my car and I was in the parking lot and I ran for the hills!!! lol

  • big f*ing deal..

  • ohhh yeaahhh thats the ONLY downside living in hawaii... bullshit

  • lavender, mint, oregano, basil, bay leaf, neem ... grow these plants or put out moth balls everytime there is a change in season

  • one time i saw one like 2 feet but anyways at least you dont have have 3 black racers greet you or a pygmy rattlesnake in your pool or an armadillo on your welcome mat

  • I admit that scorpions give me the creeps, even though I know most species are not very harmful to humans.

I think maybe its because of a movie I swa when I was just a small kid, "No Man is an Island" earl;y in the movie a group of Americans are running away from the invading Japanese on Guam, and a guy steps on one and thats soon the end of him.

Maybe you can sell them to Japanese tourists as Bonsai Lobsters

  • ive seen bigger in Oahu, and had the experience of one crwaling over me when i slept!...not nice..=(

  • Nasty!

  • Eh guys da reason centipedes are hated in Hawai'i is because in Hawaiian culture Centipedes are bad luck sent to u from someone else. Da cure would be to burn it and send the negative energy back to the sender

  • just eat it.

  • shut up and get off the islands.

  • Next time you run into one, dont burn it with a torch. While my uncle was toasting it, it popped and a piece stuck to his hand

  • You are lucky that it is dead. You are crying like a baby.

  • LOL I live in Hawaii on the island O'ahu, and I can't tell you how often I've had these in my home! I've almost become used to them. Now whenever me and my kids see one, we kill it by stomping on it!

  • hahahah I think those are poisonous, too. And If I saw that I might have hurt myself in the escape.

  • I had two of those in my apartment in Iowa..lol

  • I have seen way bigger ones than that in Hawaii. They looked nasty and I bet they bite too. Just got back from O'ahu last weekend, saw the usual Geckos and lots of Cockroaches, but no big ass centipedes this time.

  • Made me laugh. :)

  • when you see one of those f'ers comin after you.........I just didn't expect it and it made me laugh big time....LOL!! 5 stars. Hey are they poisenous or something?

  • I saw a way bigger one when I was at Sea Life Park last year. That thing looked nasty. I bet they bite.

  • dude its a bug lol come on

  • the chikens in the yard eat em up. you act like we only get those in hawaii haha

  • it is not exactly a lion is it.......come on.....overhere in Holland we have all kinds of that crap i greet them every morning before i kick them through the floor......no problem.....bye

  • Well I'm glad I didn't run into any of it when I was there (my family lives in Tilburg). But I'll keep my eye out next time.

    Hmmm, a lion or a centipede.... that's a tough choice. ;)

  • are you Dutch then?? would love to see Hawaii some day in my life but no money...greetings from Arnhem...bye

  • I had one of those in my house. It stood up to me : )

  • Did you chase it away with bug spray? :p

  • Actually I greeted him...Most the time these tiny creatures will bring special messages and blessings with them : )

  • Eeeeeeeeeeeeeee the only thing I'm not looking forward to in Maui is those fockers. We have them in Canada... but they're like an inch long and about 1/8th of an inch wide. They don't bite or sting. And die easily - according to what i have heard, those buggers don't die easy there!

  • I grew up in the country so saw all kinds of bugs. gotta love our big thing at my parents house was spiders and horse flies. horse flies killed if you got stung by one they left big welts on your arms.

  • I think a horsefly got me once while visiting my in-laws. I just felt like something was burning my arm and then there wasa big welt. I was like "OW, what the hell?" and my husband looked at my arm and said "oh, it was probably a horsefly." and I don't even know what those things look like.

  • there bigger then a black fly but kind of look the same as one and sounds like it could have been.

  • Oh that is so cool! I love creepy crawlers! I have never seen any of those in Florida. We do have zillions of lizards running around everywhere! I have all kinds of weird creatures in my yard. They don't bother me except for the fire ants. Boy, do they hurt when they attack you. Watch out for those buggers!! Stay safe! :-)

  • We've had fire ants a couple of times - they sure do HURT.

I don't mind benign creepycrawlies...like rolliepollies. But the ones that bite or sting need to stay out of my space.

We have millions of geckos around; I love those guys. They eat the bugs, lol.

  • OMG kill it... I hate creepy crawly things... I could never do fear factor... cool you live in hawaii... are you hawaiian?

  • Not by blood. But I think I was in a previous life, 'cause it just feels like home to me. I love it here so much.

Trust me I am definitely bug-bombing the house soon and sprinkling that poison powder outside.

  • Those fockers!!! lol I hope you can outrun them... I think they would be the equivalent of what we have in mexico which is scorpions... ugh they are everywhere... I freak out whenever I see one..

  • We have scorpions here too, but I've never seen one. And I hope I never do! lol.

  • I'm so glad we don't get those!!! we don't even get snakes! lol!!! :)

  • Yeah, we're snake free here too. It's like a major thing - if you see a snake it means it hitched a ride on a plane and you have to call the authorities.

    But the centipedes are everywhere...

  • if you get bitten by one, how serious is it? they are so scary looking! :)

  • You're supposed to put ammonia on it and go to the hospital. I guess it's only really serious if your immune system is compromised - old people & babies.

But I have heard it hurts A LOT, and I hope I never have to find out!
