The season mode is VERY LONG. I've played almost all 162 games in season mode for mlb 08 and I only simulated a few games. I've played the season since the summer of 2008 and I hate to sound weird, but once you play all those games, It feels like an actual journey, even though its just a game. I played game one of the world series today and I beat the Rockies 5 to 2 with my team the rays.
I actually played all 162 game in my season, believe it or not. I hate simming. I almost never walk anybody and I don't want a simmed game to ruin those stats. However, I might sim the last two weeks of spring training if I get impatient for the season to start.
The only times I'll sim is if I play most or all of a game and some unseen incident prevents me from saving. It hasn't happened much in the MLB series, but Acclaim's older All-Star Baseball titles used to do that.
i did this with the braves 6 times in 7 years on 08 the show its fun the first couple of times then it gets plain old boring after the 4th or 5th time
It's an unfortunate oversight on the programmer's part. He is black in '08, however... on the PSP version of '08 I started a Road To The Show, and somehow Fred Lewis in that file has black arms and a white head. It's... odd, to say the least.

Ah but they did beat the Yankees twice in a row infact 1921 and 1922 that was back when they were the New York Giants and when they had the best team in MLB. But guess what, the Yankees beat em in 1923 and went on to win 25 more championships after that. In 1924 the Giants get beat by the Washington Senators. (Now the Twins)

The winners of each division (plus a wild card, the team with the most wins that didn't win a division) play in their respective League Division Series. The two winners from those series face off in the League Championship Series. The winners of each of those then face each other in the World Series.
