@gatlostjimmy are u retarded by any chance? Blues is not about how good you are. As a matter of fact u shouldn't be able to tell two experienced guitar players who's better.
It's sad that so many think this is blues at its finest, when the masterpieces of the genre make this sound as if it doesn't even rank as a raw beginner's first attempt.
"Yuh just couldn't do acoustic man, just couldn't hold out sigh*... smh........ but Stevie. yuh know. its ok its ok. I'm the same way. love the electric flexibility with a fat amp and feelin' down n lovin' it. i like it too Stevie. i like it too. RIP."
Definitely the King of the Blues. There is still hope for all us SRV fans, there's a Prince on the rise he goes by the name of Mato Naji a South Dakota Native American Indian in a band called Indigenous. They've been around since the mid 90's, this Indian boy will blow your mind so check em' out all you SRV lovers.
This man had it all, the voice the unparalleled and fluid gift of playing from his heart through his fingers on that strat. He will never be matched. Miss you Stevie.
So many players today who can play a million notes a second, but this guy.......hit every single soul clawed note with passion and pain, theres blues......then theres stevie............rip u talanted man u <3
i love how stevie in texas has his own statue that's how great he was for a state as big as texas to represent him that says alot about the type of person he actually was.. im glad he has a monumental i love you stevie and miss you wish you were hear..
greatest blues/ soul guitarist ever we love you stevie and miss you... man he really brings tears to my eyes true emotions love stevie...he's the greatest..
This is one of those rare song/recordings that really engulf you. You're trapped in it for the duration of the song. Trapped might be the wrong word because it's something good; something you want to be surrounded by. It's short and simple, yet so intricate that it has you listening to every note and feeling every bit of emotion. Sorry for this rant; I know it's kind of lame but all in all, the best and most simple way to put this... 'Scary Good.'
He brings up emotions inside of me that i didn´t know that i had. His songs and covers are all great performences!! He is a legend and an icon for the blues!!!
Cool. THIS IS SRV FOR SURE! I've had this recording on cassette for 13 yrs or so. First time I've heard it any where else. Yep rare stuff. Good one TexasSRVFlood.
Yeah man!! He's the most soulfull blues player that ever been lived!! He'll give inspiration to all the living guitarist and listener to what a wonderfull world of music can it be!
so many guitarplayers spend tons of money on buying SRV type gear, this recording clearly shows that this tone was really 90% just his hands. 10% - loud clean strat.
mmh i was wondering that too. my guess would be unplugged strat. the sound doesnt resonate enough for it to be an acoustic. also, the strings sound a littel softer than what they would sound like with htis kind of playing on an acoustic
you could also listen to deep purple: when a blind man cries or perhaps john campbell: one believer. These are both excellent songs. Perhaps you might enjoy them.
I still hate hellicopters
