I'll give you an example: my mom has a friend from England who has a bad stomach problem, it feels like someone is stabbing her in the guts whenever she eats.Every time she goes to a doctor the doctor looks up her records and finds out she is on some sort of meds for a mental problem and tells her it's all in her head. She could die from this and they don't care! Please pray.....

I am a disabled elderly woman. All my life I worked and also volunteered 30 years of my life to the public on top of it. They only gave me medicaid and I have trouble even seeing a doctor near my home. I have to drive for a long way to get to a doctor. The hospital in my town does not take in people that are seeing my doctor either. So this leaves us to going miles for that. I know we need some sort of change. I am not in favor of government control of anything at all but....

This will not be free. Someone will pay for it one way or another. I watched a show today that had a guy who was in charge of 14 hospitals. From what I got out of it there will be less staff and fewer hospitals if all this passes. Also if you have group health care now it will be considered a taxable benifit and will be taxed as income.

I am a disabled elderly woman. All my life I worked and also volunteered 30 years of my life to the public on top of it. They only gave me medicaid and I have trouble even seeing a doctor near my home. I have to drive for a long way to get to a doctor. The hospital in my town does not take in people that are seeing my doctor either. So this leaves us to going miles for that. I know we need some sort of change. I am not in favor of government control of anything at all but....

Private insurance DOES NOT exclude people. It recognizes that some people are higher risk and DESERVE to be charged a higher premium for their higher risk. The NHS may have its flaws but that doesn't mean it can't be improved... And I abhor the denial of cancer drugs because of their cost than most people, I think. But we also have the freedom to pay into our own private healthcare insurance if we choose to -- it's just that often treatments get "shared" with the NHS anyway!
And we're free to take whatever supplements that are deemed safe, and some that are questionable, we wish to.

American insurance companies make decisions for you. They pick and choose what type of treatment you get, if any at all. In Canada, no matter, you will receive the BEST procedures available no questions asked. Now that's what is morally right!

From what I got out of it there will be less staff and fewer hospitals if all this passes. Also if you have group health care now it will be considered a taxable benifit and will be taxed as income.

I think NOT, government health care does NOT address the fact that most modern disease is caused by poisoning in the food supply or by medical treatments themselves, IOW FRAUD. Read more carefully, and consider the gov/s position that infectious disease has been eliminated in the US. That leaves non infectious disease. Autism covers a lot, and the gov/med is lying about what causes it. There are millions who are bankrupt now in a private Health system because they can't afford care & forced to sell everything they have to get it. There are people who take care of themselves, work hard, but end up getting sick & bankrupt because they couldn't get the proper coverage or approval. One heart surgery is actually $20K in the USA but a private system is made for large profit so you could be right. Total cost in Canada is $10K which is paid by the Government and $0 to the patient.

Often, bottled water is just that. Sometimes companies say their water is from a mountain spring but it is what is on the back of the label that is important, not the front. Some spring waters (because they are often not well regulated) are actually just municipal tap water. Just read labels and call the companies if you have any questions. Read up on water and its safety. This is paramount to one's health.

I have some good news Rhadia and Peter. I was reading the Boston Globe online today and there was a nice article, "Depression 2009: What Would It Look Like?" It basically asked a team of experts in economics and history on what we should expect. Interestingly alternative medicine was brought up and they feel that more people will seek alternative medicine because of the expense of standard healthcare. People will drop insurance due to affordability, as well as a hosts of other things.
