It's just a thought but I've always believed that Bud perhaps was so use to working in a position where his life was on the line every second that having high standards for himself wasn't necessary. You kill rich, you die rich, you kill poor, you die poor; consequences plays no favorites. Living the lifestyle for himself right now seems no different that living in a mansion near a heavily populated city. In my opinion some killers are very adjustable to living standards
