actually.... skunks dont spray right away, they have a bunch of other warnings they present first and tactics.. they dont want to waste there ammo :) they'll stomp, flare their tail, charge, and even run away as a last effort before they'll spray. i own a skunk and had to do a years worth of research before i could care for him. so dont b talkin out your ass son. :)

Man, I would have freaked out in this situation, first I would have tried to call my dog and get him away from that thing, hoping that the skunk doesn't follow him if he obeys the command, but dogs most of the time unless they're well trained, are going to be confrontational and ignore anyone trying to get their attention. I didn't want the dog to get sprayed, but when you play with a bull, you get the horns.

I laughed extremely hard at this video, hopefully the dog learned a golden lesson.

my best guess is that the dog was too close to the skunk for him to spray, the skunk has to turn all the way around and the dog is moving so quickly that the skunk feels like it would get hurt if it took the time to turn around and aim and spray...
