  • Hell, humans kill way more humans than anything else. I say we ban ourselves.

  • sharks are awesome, you're a dick

  • were you fishing when u shot this

  • Anyone else here because of the shark jumping on the boat in mexico ????

  • Judaism is evil.

  • why does everybody fear sharks and crocs.

Hippo's kill even more people then sharks and crocs together

  • Yee Haw!

  • we killed millions and millions of sharks last year they only killed 3 human beings now that is fucked up.

you have to think sharks must be more afraid of us than we are of them but yet no there not people should stand up for sharks not kill them

  • @NBAs6 faggot

  • humans kill more humans in one month then sharks to in a century

  • they are good eating fish

  • if you catch a mako, can you sell it if you have a permit or something? or are you not allowed to sell them on the market?

  • Almost all animals attack because they are scared, or mistake you to be food. So don't hate on sharks, almost all attacks by sharks are due to the shark being scared or thinking you're a seal.

  • Some idiots don't know this the Mako Shark Is Related To The Great White

  • i feel sorry for sharks they don't kill much of us, and most attacks are because they mistake us for there natural food.

  • y dos this dam shark get somany viwes?

  • lol, too bad

  • I'm pretty much an eco-warrior but so long as there is minimal waste I'm totally ok with line caught fish.

Unfortunately due to industrial fishing it looks like the days of this stunning animal are numbered =(

  • THank you!

  • nice footage. i have seen 2 makos jump. 1 jumped about 5 times over 3 meters in the air one of the best things i have seen in my life

  • i love sharks i dont no wy we hunt theme

  • I agree.

We kill more sharks then they kill of us... I don't think that makes much sense? I mean it's the media and movies like jaws that causes us to have so much fear. Did you know that I think 80% of aquatic animal attacks on humans are due to defense?

  • yeah, thats true. Though the number is much more than 80%, it is in the high 90's

  • I really dont care what you thing. Last week I caught 17 sharks and only killed one. Killed AND ate one shark out of 17. Those arent bad odds, now are they?

  • Good for you, but you're one person out of how many?

    Billions?

  • Ok, theres slightly less than 7 billion people on the planet. And less than 25% of them are fishermen, and less than 25% of them (probably even less) are hard core or soft core shark fishermen. So really, theres not alot of harm at all caused by this so called "over fishing", our biggest fault is oceanic pollution, dont blame fishing.

  • Ok.

But the fact still remains that we're killing more of them then they are of us.

I didn't mean to start an argument and I feel this is getting a lot more heated then it should have.

I have my opinion and you have yours.

  • i was just messing with you, i know that fact is true, i was just pointing out that you put did you know "i thing" then the rest of the quote, i wasnt bashing you, just joking around

  • I just read there are apparently 150million sharks caught each year (1 killed per 40 people per year).

I'm not sure how many sharks there are on the planet(and no one really seems to know) but I would think that 150million lost isn't insignificant.

If you compare sharks to land carnivore populations, there are only about 600,000 black bears, 200,000 brown bears, 25,000 hyenas... And the bears actually most eat fruits/plants so their population would be even smaller if they ate meat.

  • It's not this kind of fishing that's a problem - it's the industrial scale fishing.

  • @MaxSafeheaD Yeah, it's true, even though sport fishing is retarded imo, it doesn't even come close to the damage of the asian food market and general world fish demands.

  • Did you know that I think 80% of aquatic animal attacks on humans are due to defense?

Could you perhaps rephraze that, because i honestly didnt know that you thought that

  • Comment removed

  • @KingAnather Haha it's cool! I understand completely! Hence why I put a smiley face at the end!

I did not realize I had put "I think"!!!

  • @AMP1317 I agree !

  • @AMP1317 If you've ever seen the damage these sharks can do, you'd speak a little differently. I don't see any shortage in sharks near beaches, and we need to cull some of them (Not to wipe them out, but to regulate species over population).

  • @GUMMYBEAYUH Have you ever seen the damage lions, anacondas, cars, lightening, alligators, misquotes, polar bears, and almost any other living thing can do? Almost any animal can do damage if provoked. That's just common sense. Sharks aren't the only ones. Plus, many sharks should be on the endangered species list, but aren't. Trust me, they're not overpopulated. If anything, they need to be protected. They regulate the aquatic ecosystem. Decimating them will not do anything but harm.

  • there no where near over fished u dik head

  • Those sharks do jump when they try to get rid of parasits or while they hunt near the surface as well.

The highest recordet jump was about 7m.

Unfortunately those sharks are highly threatened by overfishing and despite the fact that they are very important for the oceans, some people still call killing them a sport.

  • awesome

  • What do you think its redline is 9000RPM?

  • wrong video pal!

  • The shortfin mako shark is a sleek spindle shaped shark with a long conical snout. This shark has short pectoral fins and a crescent shaped caudal (tail) fin. There is a distinct caudal keel on the caudal base. Its second dorsal fin is much smaller than the first. The teeth are are slender and slightly curved with no lateral cusps, and are visible even when the mouth is closed. There is marked countershading on this shark: dorsally it is a metallic indigo blue while ventrally it is white.

  • anyone who thinks this is fake or a set up is a retard, mako sharks DO jump when trying to spit the hook when they are battling a fisherman....I have seen it.

  • the mako is indeed one of the fastest fish in any ocean but as for sharks doing badly in captivity the great white cannot be kept in captivity. its a natural hunter and it will starve itself in captivity. oh and check out glasvegas 'the prettiest thing on saltcoats beech'.

  • if u look closely theres is a line movin in the water when the shark jumps so theyre either fishin or a machine

  • why are people so worked up about sharks they only kill 6 poeple a year while alligators and crocs chow down on 700+ a year

  • @catclaw777 Do you like pulling statistics out of your rear?

  • lol theres only like 13 fatal alligator attacks in the last 100 years, but crocs definently kill way over 400 ppl in just africa a year, so yes more than sharks@catclaw777

  • @catclaw777 because of hollywood.

  • Thought that was pretty cool! I've never seen anything like it other then on television would have loved seeeing it in person.

  • I catch more Mako's here in Ma. than any where else in the world.

  • oh alright i dident no that but any way your the expert :)

  • You can def. tell it's a Mako by its dorsil. And yea Makos can jump fishing in south florida all my life you get to see some cool and rare things like Mako's jumping out of the water. Graet whites do jump too as well as blacktips and blue sharks have been known to go airborn before. You really need to do some research next time benny.

  • How do you know that bennythemyth, did you read it somewhere? Mako sharks do jump, they are the fastest of the big sharks and widely regarded as one of the most intelligent and efficient predators in the oceans. We've had a Mako swim past the boat slowly slightly on one of it's sides and eyeball us as it swam by, almost like it was thinking about how to get at us. I've also seen them jump when they're hooked, I didn't just read it somewhere and pretend to know!

  • woooo cape cod ftw! (i live in orleans)

  • Great Video Guys....I'm not going to get into the debate over Sharks -v- Whales because I love them both. I believe the point is that as long as fishermen "Worldwide" retain the "Release Ethic" and promote sustainability of our beloved marine life then there will Always Be Plenty More Fish In The Sea!

    Dave. DV Editor. BragNRelease.

  • sweet...i love mako sharks^^

  • for every shark that kills a person, humans kill somethin like 1 million sharks or some crazy number..they're not tryin to eat ppl

  • Mako shark are scary looking. Even more then white sharks. Fast and furious, their the perfect predator.

  • Threshers are unmistakeable. This is definately a mackeral shark, and since it's not a porbeagle or a great white, it kind of narrows it down.

  • Recreational shark fishing has nothing to do with dwindling populations, gets your facts right, populations are diminishing because commercial netting and fishing done globaly everyday.

  • Great video! They taste delicious.

  • Great Shot
