  • It,s nice, but sadly the dynamics of the piece are spoilt by the female voices.Parry wrote this for an all male choir.I don't object to females in a church choir,as long as you realise that the sound(if written for all males) will be different, and therefore not as good. There ARE perfecyly good modern pieces written for mixed choir, best stick to them.

BTW I am an Ex Chorister of the Chapel Royal Hampton Court.

  • @MrSwifts31 With all due respect that is a very patronising response.. I am also an ex-chorister that previously held residence in St Paul's Cathedral amongst other places, however whilst the tone will be different - and in that I agree - there is absolutely no need to "poo-poo" someone from singing a piece.

I feel that all things considered - remember that this is a Parish Church choir - they have done a very good job and I enjoyed listening to it.

  • @MrSwifts31 It's also worth noting that I commented to you before I had heard them fall slightly flat on that final Bb! ;o)

It's not the best rendition, but I stand by the fact that I enjoyed it. A mixed choir shouldn't feel prohibited from singing any piece that they wish!

  • Very nice work guys!

  • Wills and kate are kicking themselves now...
