There is no comparison between the two games and i play them both most the time. On halo reach beta there was over 32 million people joining and the sever had to close lol. As dawn of war there are only 40 ppl max on dawn of war dc and on ss about 30 average. Name the books it stole from.

I got the new codex with me right here and the closest thing i've got to match the barrel with is the vanquisher but no regular dawn of war game would have a leman russ vanquisher! So the guy must of modded the battle tank design!

Ah, I gues that's why it's called "Iron HALO". The Iron Halo in wh40k is a sacred artifact which can be worn by space marine commanders (The ending guy has one above his head) it summons a divine shield in combat. Had nothing to do with the movie so I didn't understand the vid at first.

the Tau are horrible at close range combat as well as long range (at least the fire warriors anyways). There's no way a basic Tau squad could stand up to the might of a space marine squad.
Halo is a good game and has a neat storyline that is a good prequel to Marathon. I don't know why so many people can hate a series with such excellent gameplay and plot.
Master chief is like Space Marine version 0.5, hes got augments, hes got power armor, now he just needs the rest of the augments and geneseed. Ya know, it would be wierd if the Emperor got the idea for Space marines by uncovering data on the SPARTAN 117, but cool at the same time, huh?

I'm not upset about the soundtrack. I didn't like it, but I'm more pissed about the multiple Halo-related mods. It's irritating to have my favorite game series being slandered by some fanboy trash that couldn't even make a full race. If you had a whole Halo race, sounds, voices, system, resources and everything, I would accept it. I hate the imperial guard UNSC Kasrkin mods. It's irritating and I want it to stop.

DoW on the other hand, is an example of a great game. innovative system gave new meaning to RTS genre and there are plenty of cool races to play from. although imperial guard is my no.1 fav, i can say that i enjoy playing as all the other races as well :)
hey ive been thinkin about this, why dont any races join permanent (or more then 3 battles) alliances? i could see tau, eldar, and the humies coming together, i can see the chaos, orks, and dark eldar comin together. the chaos and dark eldar i can see not hating eachother tooo much since they believe in a same god (i think) but the d eldar have to iether fool the orks into helping, or another alliance in like winter assault
Eldar only care for themselves, Imperium is the incarnation of xenophobia. Dark Eldar are forced to sacrifice souls of others to Slaanesh in order to not be consumed themselves, but they have no further interest in Chaos.

Search for "you are all vermin" on Youtube. This video is a recreation of a Halo 3 trailer. It's VERY well done, but you wouldn't know it unless you'd seen the original trailer.

Well, you have to consider that Games Workshop basically based the Tau on the Covenant.
The Tau have an almost identical philosophy, as well as the same "join us for the Greater Good/Great Journey or die" mentality. They are both collections of multiple species, with the Ethereals/Prophets on top, and they both have advanced plasma-based weaponry beyond humanity's. Not to mention the Tau Piranha looks exactly like a Ghost. Google it if you don't believe me.
I have the Tau codex dated 2003, it was also the year of the Eye of Terror worldwide Campaign, I remember it also because It was the first time I saw Tau. But the Tau were based on oriental design, like mecha and such.
Uhh...do your own research, don't listen to a bunch of neckbeards. 40k came in in 1986(7?) and Tau are the newest army, came out in 2001. They were not there in the beginning.
the idea of aliens having superior plasma based weapons had been around since the idea of plasma. the ghost and the piranha both of the basic design but nothing else. And the tau are communists, they have nothing to do with religion ,which is all the covenant are about.

I've got a PS3 but I don't like halo. I don't like shooters globably I opose the idea of killing somebody from a "save" distance. So it is a covenant leader from Halo I think? (yes I do know something of the background :P)

Anyways this whole recording is actually an early Halo 3 trailer with the video portion removed and replaced with WH40k.
The ending is even done in the Halo/Bungie style. Pretty good effort overall.

Ah, I gues that's why it's called "Iron HALO". The Iron Halo in wh40k is a sacred artifact which can be worn by space marine commanders (The ending guy has one above his head) it summons a divine shield in combat. Had nothing to do with the movie so I didn't understand the vid at first.

the Tau are horrible at close range combat as well as long range (at least the fire warriors anyways). There's no way a basic Tau squad could stand up to the might of a space marine squad.

Master chief is like Space Marine version 0.5, hes got augments, hes got power armor, now he just needs the rest of the augments and geneseed. Ya know, it would be wierd if the Emperor got the idea for Space marines by uncovering data on the SPARTAN 117, but cool at the same time, huh?

He's more akin to A Scout, but a Scout is still more kick ass, the Master Chief's "power armor" is more akin to carapace armor.
The Suit chief wears is crap when the shield is out, meanwhile, a Space Marine don't need shields.

If you want me to be impressed, show me a vid of the honest results of the UNSC fighting ANY force from W40K. I don't care which.

I'm not upset about the soundtrack. I didn't like it, but I'm more pissed about the multiple Halo-related mods. It's irritating to have my favorite game series being slandered by some fanboy trash that couldn't even make a full race. If you had a whole Halo race, sounds, voices, system, resources and everything, I would accept it. I hate the imperial guard UNSC Kasrkin mods. It's irritating and I want it to stop.

games like halo is obviously overrated...i didnt find it impressive at all. its just the same as any other FPS..
DoW on the other hand, is an example of a great game. innovative system gave new meaning to RTS genre and there are plenty of cool races to play from. although imperial guard is my no.1 fav, i can say that i enjoy playing as all the other races as well :)

hey ive been thinkin about this, why dont any races join permanent (or more then 3 battles) alliances? i could see tau, eldar, and the humies coming together, i can see the chaos, orks, and dark eldar comin together. the chaos and dark eldar i can see not hating eachother tooo much since they believe in a same god (i think) but the d eldar have to iether fool the orks into helping, or another alliance in like winter assault

Eldar only care for themselves, Imperium is the incarnation of xenophobia. Dark Eldar are forced to sacrifice souls of others to Slaanesh in order to not be consumed themselves, but they have no further interest in Chaos.

Well, you have to consider that Games Workshop basically based the Tau on the Covenant.
The Tau have an almost identical philosophy, as well as the same "join us for the Greater Good/Great Journey or die" mentality. They are both collections of multiple species, with the Ethereals/Prophets on top, and they both have advanced plasma-based weaponry beyond humanity's. Not to mention the Tau Piranha looks exactly like a Ghost. Google it if you don't believe me.

I have the Tau codex dated 2003, it was also the year of the Eye of Terror worldwide Campaign, I remember it also because It was the first time I saw Tau. But the Tau were based on oriental design, like mecha and such.

Uhh...do your own research, don't listen to a bunch of neckbeards. 40k came in in 1986(7?) and Tau are the newest army, came out in 2001. They were not there in the beginning.

I viewed the narrator as coming from the Imperium rather than the Tau empire and the Tau empire are analogous to the humans in the Halo universe.
"You are all vermin" = "Death to all xenos"
"Your world shall burn like glass" = "Exterminatus"
Plus, the Tau are naive about the galaxy, much like the humans in the Halo universe are.
