why havent chess boards evolved? They could have weak magnets on the bottoms of the pieces to stop them from falling over in fast moves. They could build digital chess boards, being a flat touch screen, etc etc.
You're spot on. This game should not have been played on a decorative wooden board. Tournament boards use plastic pieces that are weighted at the bottom. Much preferable for speed chess.
@harvkeitel This looks like a standard wooden board and pieces that you would see in a top level tournament. And yes, wooden pieces can be weighted too.
i don't get it why they fucking slaming the pecies down so hard lol and why they have to grab a peice so fast its chess your supose to think about your next move not jsut grab anything you see realy fast
plus they need to take there time me and my dad play and we take up to a good 5 minits to make one move because we plan ahead we first learn ok i do this he is going to to this, this, or this and we know what to do if he dose eather of those moves thats chess thats strategy not bam bam bam!!! thats not chess that people pretending to know chess becasue they think there all badass because they move rightoff and don't need to think
I guess you haven't played Blitz/Bullet chess man.
No offense, but there IS such thing as a 1+0, and 3+0 games, many play these types of games in tournaments, and online because online you can make around 20-30 moves in under a second if you're really quick. To the point, In a Bullet/Blitz, both players can complete approximately 60, if not more moves in a single game, unless somebody gets mated before that. It's all about thinking as quickly as you can, and trying NOT to blunder.
Correct, chess in fact does require some sort of strategic planning, and a lot of thinking; but for those that have the ability to plan ahead extremely quickly, or can move pieces really fast (knowing set ups and gambits/variations well would help alot) would do nicely when playing Blitz chess.
I agree with you on the fact that you should/can take your time, but in some games when your playing against an opponent; clock, it requires stuff like that. :P
Your right, too many mistakes are made; but that's what happen if you have to plan all of your moves in under 60 seconds.
If you make mistakes quickly, you can always do your best to prevent them; or if you play online, simply analyze the game, see where you went wrong; and improve.
missed the best scene of the game: Akobian grabing the white queen insinuating he was going to promote, and Naka grabing the black queen also and saying (you're kidding?!)
yeah you could be right, but then again if it was Nakamura who won - so which would mean the clock started beeping first after he hit it - then why does it stop beeping after he hit it for the second time and not after Akobian hits it ?? The clock could have been disfonctional, and also Nakamura points it so ok maybe he won, but I am still not convinced
Nice, you got some of the details right there, like when naka knocks over his knight or when he has to hit the clock twice. But not all details are there such as his long think on Rb2 and you didn't finish the game at the same position, played a few knight moves before white's time ran out.
Cute reenactment, who made this? I like how he adjusts the biship w/index finger in the beginning, would have been amazing if they fumbled pieces on the same moves.
Nakamura is too calm on this video... so it's a fake !

Yea but chess is about taking your time its not about moving fast. i play chess and one move can take up to 14 days.

look at the video closely, the clock starts beeping after Akobian hits it, so what do you think that means?
medra1980 2 years ago
No medra1980, it's Naka who hits the clock last. He is the guy on the right. So what do you think that means? :-)
guest1983 2 years ago
the clock beeps after akobian hits it, Naka hits it again and then it stops beeping, so Naka ran out of time .... Just watch the video
medra1980 2 years ago
1:47 - Akobian's last hit on the clock
1:48 - Nakamura's last hit on the clock
1:49 - The clock starts beeping
-> Akobian loses on time.
