CAN'T this idiot write anything ORIGINAL? HUH? ONE REHASH after another REHASH. COME ON. ENUFF of rehashing your earlier work. James Cameron U should of fired this idiot.
@UFOSPACE1999 I wouldve picked Hans Zimmer for a more gutsier score with emotional tenderness and with hard core punch. Or Howard Shore wouldve been good.
A reworking of his Colonel Shaw / GLORY Theme originally inspired by Prokofiev's IVAN THE TERRIBLE of course. Horner took the Prokofiev and expanded it brilliantly in GLORY. Here it is reworked and sung nicely by the Na 'vi. Horner consistently quotes from his previous scores and works. Is this a bad thing?
If he originally created it and then just remixed it, I think it is still original.
As far as composers I feel he was a great choice. I myself am a HUGE Zimmer fan (love his lion king an last samuria music) but he is the same as Horner. His Gladiator and Pirates themes sound the same.
I am not sure if it is a bad thing that I can recognize a Zimmer work without looking at credits.
Cameron kept James because many audience members told him Horner's music is what helped make Titanic so emotional.
Do you know how I got here? By searching Ivan The Terrible - Sergei Prokofiev
