I've tried all the tricks I've read on the forums (press the left corner of the screen while re-starting, etc.) Nothing works. Looks like after 10 years being a huge Garmin fan, I'll start using my iPhone with the $0.99 app called MotionX. It's so close to as good as my Garmin, I may be able to get by without buying another GPS-only device.
So, has anyone found any resolution to this problem? Are our Garmins all bricked? Do we just toss them and buy another?

same for me on a 1410 but, without fw update.
And, of course, no "hard reset hole" or battery access.
Will keep you posted if I find a slotuion.

Same for me, after updating firmware. I suspect I do not have enough memory space in Garmin.
Actually I try to find a solution, since I dot find the buying receipt for sending to Garmin Support.
