You can tell immediately that the creator has never been in a Neurosurgical operating room.. Because such questions such as "What the hell kind of trekkie bullshit are you talking about?" are impossible.. Due to the fact that the anesthesiologist is generally asleep, texting, attempting some kind of manual engineering to make his/her chair more comfortable.. :) None the less, these videos are fantastic!! Keep up the good work!! :)

I'm pretty sure the word you couldn't make out was "vec" as in vecuronium- a paralytic agent used by anesthesia. I'm an OR nurse and my co-workers and I find these videos hysterical, as do MOST of the surgeons with whom we work.
With my mom being a doctor (anestiolgist) she showed this to me, and we were laughing like crazy.! Not all surgeons talk about random movies, but for one, they always try to jeep operating with the patient is almost dead. What useis the surgery if the are dead.? Bahaah

As surgeons we can occasionally be inpatient, but to suggest that an anaesthetist is smarter than a neurosurgeon is ludicrous. Neurosurgery as a field is fucking competitive, there are probably about 500 more anaesthetic places per neurosurgery place at an ST3 level in the UK.
@molecularmadness: Nope I'm a surgeon, but not an uber surgeon :). I'd say I'm on par with an anaesthetist in terms of smartness. To be a neurosurgeon, you have to be amazing. I don't have an interest in neurosurgery, but even if I did I doubt I'd make it. In no way did I say insinuate I am proud of myself.
@molecularmadness Mr I think that is beside the point.... inside the OR all one can see sometimes is a tunnelled vision.... surgeons most of the time do not associate the operating site to the patient medical history.... it is all about the procedure....
@anorexia68: That is an unfair stereotype of surgeons. Some of the old school surgeons were certainly of that ilk, but not all of them. Despite being in the surgical field, I would like to think that all surgeons know adequate amounts of medicine to be able to deal with common emergencies. The era where surgeons do not know what NSTEMI is, or lack the ability to distinguish AF from VF is gone. Also, I operate based upon medical history and clinical features (don't all surgeons :S).
I had to watch this again--This is genius!!! I have had a few days that were similiar to this in the OR with a similiar responses by the neurosurgeon. LOL....
its a riot! all the people in our OR die laughing- including the neurosurgeons.my favorite part is the end- especially if youve been kicked out of a room before after working your ass off!
Another hilarious interaction between specialties: all too true!! Checkout "radiology vs. emergency" as the latest in this craze of specialty showdowns...!!
I'm glad you found my mom. Did she show you how to get to Thailand so you could find the trannies you were looking for? (P.S. Yo Mama jokes??? Come on....you can do better)
@jsurfs21 - Thanks! That's exactly how I feel. Had a margarita and was goofing around on the computer one night when I made this. I didn't even think anyone would watch it! It was a reference to a few people I know, not a political statement about healthcare and relations between medical specialties. Relax, people!
After reading all of the prior comments, it amazes me that there are so many stupid people out there, (and in medicine). This video is hilarious and well written. Stop trying to prove how dumb you are and just enjoy the comedy.
@jasonstacyHSC Did the patient's heart stop after that? Probably not. Do you know how much the potassium actually increases after the administration of Sux? Not much. It's preferable not to give it, but if you need to RSI the patient and you need relaxation...& there's a difficult airway in pt with renal failure, so the Roc won't be eliminated very quickly...Sux is OK. Did you think through all those details? I'm just trying to educate the poor little Neurosurgeon here.... ;)
@Lolercopterz "no one gives fuck"? awww....I'm sorry about your sex life, but that sounds like a personal problem. :) Maybe you should find yourself a nice prostitute.
This made me cry with laughter!

I am not a Doctor.
The closest I have ever come to giving medical advice is telling a 12 year old that smoking was bad for them.
I do, however, work on software that's used in nuclear power plants.
So I *totally* love the endless Doctor v. Doctor BITCH session in the comments.
And I'd point out that my colleagues and I are paid 1/10s what these prissy and arrogant jerks are paid.
