I would like to know just how much these devil teachers tithe? Nothing! They pocket the money and all live in million dollar homes and all of them have private planes. Why dont they fly at the airport like regular people do? or live in a modest humble family home?

Gentiles were not in Covenant with God under the Old Covenant. We got in under the New Covenant of Grace thru faith in Jesus. It's a shame many bible teachers don't understand Old Covenant based on keeping the Mosaic laws versus our unconditional New Covenant based on the payment Jesus made on the cross. God did not tell Gentiles to tithe. They were not chosen till after Jesus died. God told the Nation of Israel to wipe out all those pagan Gentiles & possess their land.

Tithing is taught as the ticket to God's favor and has replaced the Cross and payment Jesus made on the Cross for your Grace and favor. Tithing should not be viewed as a replacement for the Paid in full daily free grace of God! My concern is that people are not taught what Grace really means. Grace mean unmerited favor the word unmerited means something you did not have to pay or work for.
How much of tithe money was used to pay off victims of molesting Priest and Pastors? Not accusing anyone but the Catholic church paid off millions of ex-Altar boys taken advantage of by Priest. Eddie Long is the poster boy for why my brothers and sisters should not tithe to a man or a church. Look at what happened his tithing self and and his tithing church. So, we usually take natural events and situations from the bible, and turn them into Spiritual meanings, such as how the Jews used animal blood for sin, but we spiritually use the blood of Jesus. But I think it's ironic that when it comes to tithes, we do not turn that natural event into Spiritual meanings; but instead, we turn one natural thing into another natural things.... by switching out cheap Pea seeds for real Money.... I believe in honoring God with the first fruits of our labor and reward. I think it is a sign that we trust in Him. The HARDEST thing (I know from experience) is to tithe. Where your treasure is, so there is your heart. I believe in giving to the kingdom of God, to those who are truly propagating the Gospel, to feed the poor, to shelter and care for the widow and fatherless, to teach the nations to obey God's word. We do this to honour God and display trust, no greed involved,if so it is vanity.

I used to go to a church which pushed tithing, so that you could not be a part of a ministry, like choir, if you were not a committed tither. I called bullshit on this many years ago and left that church. I have been out of organized religion ever since.

I do believe in tithing simply because it is in scripture to "prove" God. Rather you believe it as explained by Eddie, or if you choose to take it and all the word of God as literally applied, it is still in the word. and is profitable for doctrine. So be careful about what you say about Gods elect it may just come back to haunt you.
The tenth is a starting point for "babes" in christ. as they mature they will learn to be more giving in their heart and give offerings on top of the tithe. Then the line between the tithe and the offering will be blurred and unseen at maturity. @pastormtippett you are horribly WRONG, there is no where in the bible that God, Jesus, Apostles or Angels, has ever told a New Testament saint to pay/give tithes. Tithes were for the Levitical priesthood, because they didn't have any inheritance in the land of Israel, it was given to the children of Israel, it was under the law of Moses. New Testament saints are told to give, but we are not told HOW MUCH, and tithing would be of necessity, and we are told not to give OF NECESSITY. Read it!
Is tithing in the bible, yes, do you believe 2 Tim 3:16-17? End of story, you cannot remove anything from Gods word that is in it, you dont have that authority. Gods law is now working (fulfilled) in us (Holy Spirit). Thats great that you give more than the tithe, you do so by conviction of the Holy Spirit (purposed in your "heart") but be very clear that the law is not destroyed, it is fulfilled through His spirit. So to say that tithing is not "new testament" is a lie because in Heb 7:12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law. That change is from carnal to spiritual.

The tithe is to keep the House of God up. If a pastor is abusing his position and taking the tithe for himself that is between him and God. Your job is to give it as unto the Lord for His house. Yes, the tithe in old testament was food, but the church today cannot pay its bills with grain and fruits, so we tithe with money. This is not hard to understand, but may be hard to accept.

i was a member of family harvest church in south africa where they taught that if you dont tithe you are stealing from God. they made me chant things like: I love money, it circulates around me, and i am a money magnet, etc. they also said that even if you are poor, you HAVE to tithe. how on earth can you tithe (if) your family needs food to eat i agree with the video.

Gentiles were not in Covenant with God under the Old Covenant. We got in under the New Covenant of Grace thru faith in Jesus. It's a shame many bible teachers don't understand Old Covenant based on keeping the Mosaic laws versus our unconditional New Covenant based on the payment Jesus made on the cross. Tithing is taught as the ticket to God's favor and has replaced the Cross and payment Jesus made on the Cross for your Grace and favor. Tithing should not be viewed as a replacement for the Paid in full daily free grace of God! My concern is that people are not taught what Grace really means. Grace mean unmerited favor the word unmerited means something you did not have to pay or work for.

I believe in honoring God with the first fruits of our labor and reward. I think it is a sign that we trust in Him. The HARDEST thing (I know from experience) is to tithe. Where your treasure is, so there is your heart. I believe in giving to the kingdom of God, to those who are truly propagating the Gospel, to feed the poor, to shelter and care for the widow and fatherless, to teach the nations to obey God's word. We do this to honour God and display trust, no greed involved,if so it is vanity.

I do believe in tithing simply because it is in scripture to "prove" God. Rather you believe it as explained by Eddie, or if you choose to take it and all the word of God as literally applied, it is still in the word. and is profitable for doctrine. The tenth is a starting point for "babes" in christ. as they mature they will learn to be more giving in their heart and give offerings on top of the tithe. Then the line between the tithe and the offering will be blurred and unseen at maturity. Gods law is now working (fulfilled) in us (Holy Spirit). Thats great that you give more than the tithe, you do so by conviction of the Holy Spirit (purposed in your "heart") but be very clear that the law is not destroyed, it is fulfilled through His spirit. So to say that tithing is not "new testament" is a lie because in Heb 7:12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law. That change is from carnal to spiritual.

@pastormtippett Question for you-Why don't you pastors who advocate Tithing also teach your flock to eat their tithes at the appointed time as instructed in the Old Testament (Deut 14:23-26) and why don't you also tell your flock to give their tithes to the strangers, fatherless, and widows at the appointed time as instructed in the Old Testament? And why Should Tithing be given to Pastors when most of them live lavishly and don't deny themselves like the levites were instructed to?

Why do you assume those things arent being taught? I dont understand why it is so hard for some so-called christians to understand the spiritual meaning of old testament scripture. Every one of them that are against tithing assume that the pastor gets all the money. If you are in ministry at all you should know that is not so. 2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

The tithe is to keep the House of God up. If a pastor is abusing his position and taking the tithe for himself that is between him and God. Your job is to give it as unto the Lord for His house. Yes, the tithe in old testament was food, but the church today cannot pay its bills with grain and fruits, so we tithe with money. This is not hard to understand, but may be hard to accept.

What passage is that? According to Leviticus, it didn't matter whether you were a "babe" or not. Plus, how can the line between tithe and offering get blurred when God is the one who established the line? The closer to God you get, the more obvious the line becomes. It is the "babe" who won't be able to tell the difference. The "babe" will believe they have to "pay for their blessings" (tithe). (continue...)

@pastormtippett (continue...) The mature knows that blessings are a gift from God. And, that no amount of giving will ever earn you grace or favor. Now, many preacher teach the curse of Malachi as "proof" for tithing. However, none of them seems to ever mention Galations 3:13.

@seedsofgrace Amen. Not only that Malachi was a rebuke on the leadership. I like to tell people who try to pull the abraham giving 10% is that he gave the other 90% to the homosexual kingdoms of Sodom and gomorrah. Their argument is so weak on saying the New Testament commands tithing. The NT only says that we are to give cheerfully, abundantly and not under compulsion. One only has to watch a TBN telethon to see them getting people to give under compulsion - thinking they will lose a blessing.

@pastormtippett What 1Ti.5:17 have to do with TITHING?! Find a single hint just one hint, the slightest hint, that tithing is mention in BOTH LETTERS to Timothy, you won't, so you have to make it up. Tithing is not for the Church, it was COMMANDED by the LORD, for the HOUSE OF ISRAEL, to give to the LEVITES AND PRIESTS, read your bible dude, not that that's gon' matter.

Some of you guys are right and some wrong. Tithing is something christians should do since theyre occupying nd using the church however there are many prosperity teachers out there(God have mercy). For the cheap people out there, 10% is NOTHING! come on people some men have given up their lifestyle or profession to become missionaries.but what i think he's trying to illustrate is that if you put everything in GOD'S hands trusting him he will surely care for u in all ur needs.

100% is nothing when it comes to following Christ. 10% is a legalistic percentage given under the Law, which we are no longer under. See Galatians.
You say the churchs needs their light bills paid. First of all the church IS NOT what you think it is. It isn't a builiding made with hands. God/Christ doesn't dwell in buildings.
What you are paying 10% to is a man made organization or business. That is all nothing more, nothing less.
True religion is giving to the widows and orphans.

@seedsofgrace This post is so awesome. You hit the nail on the head just as the Holy Spirit revealed to me many years ago. Many of these tithe advocates (especially the ministers) are dishonest. They never tell their members about the other aspects of tithing which do not involve them-namely that believers are to eat their tithes on certain occasions and are also to give their tithes to the fatherless, widows, and strangers.Many Pastors take tithes yet don't live in self denial like the Levites

the tithing system was established for the levitical priesthood because they had no inheritance in the land. read hebrews chapter 7-10 it explains fully that jesus became the high priest and since he is the high priest he disannulled those commandments pertaining to the priesthood, that's including tithes, offer, sacarifice, and the different types of washing that man had instituted so titheing 10% isn't necessary but we are still required to give we are to give to the poor and less fortunate.

Are these preachers practicing the more weightier matters of the law? Or do they say the law was done away with now? So, Jesus here says they should be following the law of moses. He spent three years showing these "leaders" the unadulterated version they should be following. You can't apply the blessings and curses of a pure law when that system is no longer in place. Tell me which of these preachers tells you not to tithe in the seventh year? Don't be fooled.

i was a member of family harvest church in south africa where they taught that if you dont tithe you are stealing from God. they made me chant things like: I love money, it circulates around me, and i am a money magnet, etc. they also said that even if you are poor, you HAVE to tithe. how on earth can you tithe (if) your family needs food to eat i agree with the video.
i say : let the preacher stay in a normal house- not a house worth millions

why do you care where your little 10 percent and offering go in Gods house if you are giving your money to God with a good heart. God's people need to wake up!!! Eddie long did not say anything wrong and i think this video was taken out of context. As a matter of fact the bishop's use of words were used as a way to keep things entertaining and still Give Glory To Jesus!!!!! it's people like the author of this video is in danger of judgement and hell. don't miss God over unclean thoughts.

Same here. It goes against their business, and their business is sacred.
But when God gives us truth, we have to respond and not stay under the same false teaching or else we are quenching the spirit. It's best to move on if they don't want to hear truth.
As I look back on it now, it was a blessing to get excommunicated out of that organization, because God isn't kept in a box in my life anymore and I am more open to his word and to his Truth without man made restrictions.

Excellent video! The tithe was old testament (OT). The new testament (NT) under Christ is about freely giving just like the NT says.."not out of necessity or requirement, but as each person has purposed in HIS own heart, let him give." There is no way around this. It's very diabolical how many pastors have used the OT in an attempt to illuminate the NT. This in itself is a gross misappropriation. It is NEVER possible to use the OT to bring better understanding to the NT, it's the EXACT opposite.

Paul teaches on the 'grace of giving.' Question: How much did the poor widow give? a tithe? Not. She gave EVERYTHING? Jesus' response? "Lady, you got bills to pay...put it back...you might lack." NOT. Jesus response..."She gave more than these religous folks." A tithe is easy...if you're heart is filled with 'the grace of giving.' Stop feeding your heart of fear by hiding behind God's Word as a nice protective shield against FEAR. If God spoke the blessing of tithe thru a prophet, believe it!

The Tithe went into the storehouse, for the people. For the Levites who did not have an inheritance, and to care for the poor.

Where is the Tithe go now? To the Levites? No, the Levitical Priesthood has been abolished. To the poor? No, they go to pad the Pastor's bank account, to expand his church.
We have a New Covenant, so are not obligated to try in vain to meet the Old Covenant Laws.
Funny how these Pastors pick parts for us to follow and ignore other parts.
